Surfoid is a bold, soft, hazy, lazy and sleepy font-dude that is most happy under an umbrella at the beach holding a drink with an umbrella in the glass. It’s fun, fun, fun until daddy takes the T-Bird away because of the problems that too much fun creates. It’s a rounded off, a little blurry on the lazy edges and would never want to be a serif font. Serif is not the style of Surfoid. Dressed up and sophisticated, this font never wants to be in a suit and tie. Happy is to be in tie dye t-shirt…with its feet dug deep into the cool sand. At first glance, Pistol Shot looks like it was originally drawn as a large, geometric slab serif font - a slab serif font that underwent an unfortunate accident, and had many of its extremities shot off! However, there is more to Pistol Shot's appearance than looking as if it had survived a showdown. Pistol Shot also looks vaguely like a pixel font viewed through a blurry filter. It also looks like it could have been cross-stitched into a craft project. Whatever its appearance, Pistol Shot Light and Pistol Shot Normal are perfect headline fonts for a wide variety of display applications. You might even want to try cross-stitching its letters into fabric yourself! P22 Yule is a series of display fonts inspired by a mélange of ancient inscriptional writing, with visual references to Anglo-Saxon, Celtic, medieval and even a bit of ancient Greek and roman letterforms. Yule is exotic yet familiar and evocative of winter holidays. It has an Alpine look, lending itself to the thoughts of chalets and fondue. Yule Heavy Snow is blanketed in the white stuff, while Yule Light Flurries is dusted with snowflakes. If there s a back-story about the design inspiration for Modern Appliances JNL, it's lost to time. An unfinished design for quite a while, this clean sans with an Art Deco flair was recently completed, and the design quality should speak more for its appeal than any promotional blurb.

Named by the german word for bustling around, to scurry or swarming the Wusel has a very active appearance. It's completely handmade and doodely because of all the crisscrossing lines, which forms big, bold, sanserif letters. These are very good to read wether they're big or small. Just a very playful, fun and simple font to use for headlines, tags and all kind of things which need al little attention.

In the 1960 edition of Samuel Welo’s “Studio Handbook for Artists and Advertisers” is an example of poster lettering with the accompanying blurb “call this Chrysler”. This casual brushstroke design was slightly modified and then reworked into what is now Show Poster JNL and is now available in both regular and oblique versions.

Take a gander at this jaunty, journal-inspired handwriting style. Wordy Diva was drawn in 1995 by Lisa Bralts and faxed to Chank Diesel. LTC Holly Leaves consists of three ornament fonts. Holly Leaves A is a solid color set of holly leaves borders. LTC Holly Leaves B is the same ornaments but with just the leaves and LTC Holly Leaves C is just the berries. B & C can be overlayed for a two color effect.

Klothilde is a handwriting font which came to life in one of my doodling sessions (I must admit I still doodle with pen and paper). The idea was to create a font which resembles writing with a quill on paper with exaggerated ball terminals. Sometimes there is too much ink which makes the letters fat and the strokes uneven. The paper soaks the ink resulting in blurred line crossings. The form gets blurry. On the other hand, when the quill runs out of ink the stroke gets thinner looking like the light version of Klothilde. In order to emulate the different looks, I created six fonts with a common skeleton but different appearance which can be altered seamlessly by using the Variable Fonts technology (e.g. in latest Adobe apps or CorelDRAW Graphics Suite) along the Weight and Blurred sliders. But even without, Klothilde can be used even in longer copy. Use it from 18 pt upwards, flush left with tight leading and intersecting ascenders and descenders. Due to extensive manual kerning, it gives your text an even colour. To my knowledge, Klothilde is one of the first script Variable fonts in different weights. No, Klothilde’s letters are not connecting. But I added a whole bunch of connecting ligatures which are simply activated by the ligature feature of your app. Even Microsoft Word can do that. Thus Klothilde comes to life, as it should be expected from a handwriting font. In order to add to variety there are additional glyphs for some critical initial and standalone letters. Repeating letter combinations like nn, mm or rr are avoided by replacing the second letter by an alternative form. All features are activated by the standard ligature feature. Ligatures are available for most European languages, some even in Cyrillic (some special Serbo-Croat letters included and accessible through localization or Style Set 08 features). Romanian comma-accent characters and ligatures are accessible through the OpenType locl feature. For the topping on the cake, I added an alternate ampersand (stylistic set 1) and asterisk (ss04), an alternate Cyrillic b (ss02) and t (ss03), a few fleurons, arrows and a skull (OpenType feature ornm), fractions (frac feature), circled numbers (ss06) and an interrobang (ss07) which result in exactly 900 glyphs in each of the six fonts. There should be enough to play with. Should you be missing a special character, do give me a hint.

Agrus in Ukrainian means "gooseberry". The letters are rounded like the berries and the sharp end elements remind of the barbs. In fact, the font is an intricate italic type. Optical compensations are purely decorative and rhyme with thin connecting lines. Design of this font is one hundred percent due to “strength of material”

Songbook JNL is based on a promotional blurb from the back of a piece of vintage sheet music. Its interesting style of slab serif lettering with strong Art Deco influence was worthy of re-drawing into a digital typeface. This design is the 900th release from Jeff Levine Fonts since its inception in January of 2006.

Bella was designed in a hurry for the birthday party of a little girl named Isabella. The character set was expanded later and works for a variety of uses. It has a fun, informal quality that made it ideal for a preteen girl's party, but the sharp serifs and thick strokes make it equally suited to edgier occasions.

Simple Fact is a family of 4 fonts and 2 sets of drawings. All fonts and drawing was made with the same inky pen, leaving a slightly blurred and rugged look

Deseada is a blurred roman face with a small x-height —actually a modified Caslon— that fits perfectly into retro environments. Use it as a parody, it's just a sort of Catalan custom.

Deutsch Black, designed by Barry Deutsch for VGC in 1966, provided the inspiration for this extrabold exercise in heavy ink coverage. A number of variants, in lowercase slots, were added to offer flexibility to your headline designs. Both versions include the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets, as well as localization for Moldovan and Romanian.

Neverland is my attemp of a lettering font. I was inspired by the letters in displays of retaurants. It will work great in posters, shirts, magazines and displays because it has a charming feel. I received a lot of help from my good friend Maximiliano Sproviero (Lián Types). The name is based on the tale of Peter Pan from James Matthew Barrie.

Viktorie might easily be mistaken for the handwriting of a note-taker in a hurry: it looks swiftly jotted down. These energetic characters pay little heed to such arbitrary contraints as baseline or x-height -- taken together, they give the effect of casual penmanship that's both curiously legible and inspiringly unleashed. Viktorie has a single, medium-light weight and comes, of course, with a full character set.

The Vadstenakursiv font was inspired by letterforms first used in the Vadstena nunnery, Sweden, founded by Birgitta, later canonized Saint Birgitta and buried in Rome 1373. These letterforms were also used in documents for different guilds, and on commercial documents.
