Frontage Condensed is a layered type system inspired by eye-catching and colorful facade signage. Its main aspect is — like many typographic installations on storefronts — three dimensional. Inspired by the strange, blocky lettering on the sides of a set of a set of plastic kitchen containers in my childhood home, 8th Avenue is a sophisticated, somewhat syncopated font with a retro look and feel that at the same time brings a very modern attitude to your design. 8th Avenue works well as display font for packaging, headlines and logos. Those pastel turquoise plastic boxes from the early 1950s, with white screen printed letters reading FLOUR, SUGAR, COFFEE etc. on one side were a simple quiet presence in our home back then and for decades after. Seeing them, even that soft blue-green colour felt like home. SUGAR, the soul survivor of that set has become one of those mundane items of daily life that somehow become simple icons of another time, ripe with memories. Obviously I had to make a font. Grrr is a headstrong modular display typeface with a large amount of alternative glyphs. It consists of eight weights ranging from Thin to Black. A variable font is also available. The typeface is designed on a modular grid and it proudly ignores the rules of optical compensations: the horizontal and vertical strokes have identical thickness, and round and triangular letters have no overshoots at all! All these peculiarities are making the typeface usable at sizes from 21pt and larger in print and approximately from 24px on non-retina screens. Grrr is especially good at extremely large sizes. The typeface includes three stylistic sets with even more bizarre letterforms. These sets activate a cyclic pseudorandom substitution of letters from a range of alternates — the letterforms keep changing as you type! The typeface was designed by Dmitry Goloub and Alexandra Korolkova and released by Paratype in 2019.

I searched all over the internet looking for a realistic sand writing font and came away empty handed. Undaunted by this, I grabbed my business partner, Mary and trekked down to our local river, the Arkansas (pronounced ar-KAN-sas around here). Using sticks, we scratched out the entire alphabet in the sand, including upper & lowercase, and punctuation marks! I photographed the characters, converted them to line art on my computer and used font creating software to turn it into a true type font! This font was designed for adding dates, places and messages to your beach photos that looked as if you wrote it in the sand before you took the picture! It is a decorative font best used in large, headline sizes. To make it appear more realistic, select a darker color from the sand in the photo to use for the type instead of black!

A set of original ornamental symbols was designed by Viktor Kharyk and licensed to ParaType in 2007. The name was inspired by the famous book “Champ Fleury” by Geoffroy Tory (1529) but the theme of blooming meadow was embodied much more literally. Each ornamental motive has a real prototype in flora. Mainly there are plants raising on Ukrainian wooded steppe. Plants were chosen for their Ukrainian and Latin names begin of proper letters from Ukrainian and Latin alphabets. The font is consisted of two styles: Day for normal and Night for reversed that reminds night lighting by its unexpected distribution of black and white areas. Fleurons may be used for creation of ornamental surfaces, composed borders and corners, decoration of any materials, and even as botanical illustrations. It all started with the letter S. I drew it, I liked it, I based a font around it! This is Pickled Limes, a tall and narrow single-case font. It's built clean from the ground up, for ultra-sharp lines and corners, as well as super-smooth curves. The slightly flared ends and quirky character mix make this font a ton of fun to use on its own, but it will also pair well with tons of hand-written styles! I've branched out on this one; in addition to over 300 Extended Latin characters, I've also included Unicode's 256 Cyrillic and 121 Greek characters for even more language support. Add in the 90+ alternates, ligatures, and catchwords, and Pickled Limes clocks in at just over 1000 characters. New Kakuji is designed from the Kakuji style of characters originating during the Edo period of Japan. New Kakuji has expanded the historical character set to include the surnames from the ancient Chinese text: Hundred Family Surnames, as well as the most common surnames in Japan, in addition to many other historically and culturally significant words, going well beyond the scope of characters that were used in the Edo period. No other font has expanded the character set of the Kakuji Style to the same extent as New Kakuji. A Latin alphabet expansion inspired by the old Kakuji style has also been included for western audiences and designers. New Kakuji contains over 500 Chinese/Japanese characters along with over 200 additional Latin characters or symbols. The solid and blocky style of New Kakuji is ideal for seal designs or other branding designs and should be used at larger point sizes.

The Metalista font was created as a sign of undying admiration for the persistence of heavy metal culture.
