This unusual Gothic face was found in the 1882 McKellar, Smiths and Jordan specimen book under the name Borussian, a then-current variant of “Prussian”. This version is true to the original, so please note: a few of the uppercase characters—notably E and G—are rather unusual, so proceed with caution. All versions of this font include the Unicode 1250 Central European character set in addition to the standard Unicode 1252 Latin set.

Fabriga speaks a familiar language in a distinctive voice. Ideas around clarity and tone informed all emblematic decisions. Fabriga’s structure and warmth are influenced by how its character set is approached as an ensemble while exploring individual ‘creative’ opportunities as they pose themselves throughout the process. Fabriga sets out to take a supportive role as a font family, understanding that one of its great strengths is its diversity in application and composition.

“Victoria Underwood” was found within the pages of the 1923 American Type Founders specimen book. It was one of many printing fonts faithfully replicating those used on various makes and models of actual typewriters. The purpose of such type was to allow mass production of letters or notices that could appear personalized rather than shop printed. Antique Typewriter JNL is the digital version of this design, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Perio is a small family, offering a distressed rendering of a conventional serif typeface in 4 varieties. There's Ordinary, All Caps, Small Caps, Clean and Jumbled. Many of the letters contain little bits of extra print around the body of the character, in imitation of imperfect printing, in all except the Clean version. It's especially useful for display, poster and headlines, but easily legible enough to be used in a paragraph of text.

I never needed to digitize this early design from 1988. I found it in a drawer underneath layers of dozens of other type designs. The drawings were made with ink on paper, about 15 cm high, meticulously executed and retouched separate glyphs for a primitive photo-lettering. I used a photographic magnifier to set words and lines in my darkroom. In 2018 I decided to make a font out of it just for fun...

The ITC Klepto™ typeface from Phill Grimshaw is a hunkered down, bulldog blunt design. It's bold, rough around the edges, and more than a little quirky. ITC Klepto's extended character set, however - which even includes Greek and Cyrillic designs - makes the face a versatile international player. Grimshaw claimed that the name "Klepto" was a natural because the design was stolen from a series of headlines he drew for an advertising campaign

The Oslo Stitch is a technique used in Nålebinding, a kind of fabric creation predating knitting and crochet. I have no particular interest in Nålebinding (nor in knitting), but I needed a name with ‘stitch’ in it and this is what I found! Oslo Stitch font is a nice, handmade, all caps font, which you can use for your book covers, posters and anything else that needs a bit of stitching up.

Junior Clerk JNL is the plain sans serif version of the lettering found on the cover of the sheet music for 1919's "The World is Waiting for the Sunrise". The song title was originally set in a decorative sans serif with an engraved line adorning each character. This version of the more fanciful design is available as the companion font Legal Eagle JNL. Junior Clerk JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Brouillard means ‘fog’ in French. I like the ‘oui’ letter combination and I was looking for a name for this font that contained those letters. I found Brouillard and presto: a new font was born! Brouillard font was handmade with a Japanese pen. It is an elegant, curvy and quite stylish font with a bit of a roughness to it - just enough to catch your attention. All three styles come with a load of diacritics.

The cover on the sheet music for the 1922 song "If She Comes from Dixie" had the title hand-lettered in an Art Nouveau style with a semi-stencil effect. It's now available as Nouveau Semi Stencil JNL in both regular and oblique versions. The typeface is not considered a "pure" stencil because many of the letters were made solid; lacking the classic stencil "breaks" at key points found in more traditional stencil designs.

Front Row JNL is an all-caps reinterpretation of Morris Fuller Benton's 1937 type design "Empire", and is available in both regular and oblique versions. As is often the case when a digital type font is based on a few letter examples found on a printed sample [in this case, the sheet music of the 1946 Guy Lombardo hit "What More Can I Ask For"], the missing characters were drawn from scratch.

P—49 is a geometric, unicase sans-serif typeface inspired by the angular patterns found in modern suspension bridges. Each letter is constructed on a grid made up of 90° and 45° angles, drawn from the steel trusses supporting the imposing vertical towers of suspension bridges. Every letter, number and punctuation mark strictly follows the grid creating a uniform, contemporary industrial feel to the typeface making it ideal for display use in large point sizes.

Phraxtured is a fairly accurate rendition of the letter forms used in an old German-language publication that I found in a trash heap. However, several characters in fraktur, such as the k, y, x, and S, look bizarre to English-language readers, and I have created more comfortable alternatives. The Phraxtured-Deutsch version has the more traditional characters. The ShadowedInside style is designed to be used in layers with the Shadowed style.

Ancient Olympian god of the sea, brother of Zeus; Poseidon is the bearer of a trident, the three pronged spear of tunny fishers and is drawn along by monstrous sea creatures-half horse, half serpent. Around him travels an entire retinue of dolphines, nereids, seals and different spirits of the sea. Likewise, the Poseidon font family is accompanied by the waved serifs and flourishes that enable its character to retell these ancient Greek myths.

The idea for the typeface Dekalb was born in 2013 after a day of photographing signage, murals and graffiti around Dekalb and Wyckoff avenues in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The initial drafts of the letterforms were first made into a single ultra-weight font that I used while working as the Creative Director for Sneaker News Magazine. After having made its first appearance in Sneaker News, I decided to expanded Dekalb to an eight style family.

Gravure was designed by Morris F. Benton in 1927 for American Type Founders and was also released in 1929 by the London foundry of C. W. Shortt. This luminous face has a slightly naïve charm seldom found in incised typefaces. Ornamental and engaging, it’s a perfect choice for headlines with warmth and grace. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin and 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan) character sets.

Routemaster is a hand-drawn condensed title font by the graphic designer Daniel Thomas. Found under the stairs, hand painted on a dusty rolled up bus route canvas. Comic books based on popular characters have been around pretty much since the advent of comic books themselves. An edition of the "Car 54 Where Are You?" series published by Dell (and based on the hit TV show created by Nat Hiken) displayed "Car 54" in a bold hand lettered stencil design on the cover. These few characters became the inspiration for Patrol Car Stencil JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Sigmund PRO is a visual journey around Poland. The main style is inspired by the Polish road signage typeface – designed by Marek Sigmund. With the increase of weight, Sigmund turns into a geometric display – in the spirit of vernacular typography from the signs of Polish streets. Thanks to this span of styles Sigmund will work both in visual identifications and posters. The family consists of 18 varieties and has many alternative characters.

I had a Neneh Cherry song in my head when I made this font. In ‘Buffalo Stance’ she sings about a gigolo with his hands in his pockets and his crocodile feet. I liked the sound of it, so Crocodile Feet font was born. Crocodile Feet is a children’s book font: bold and cute, with easy to read glyphs. Festiva is based on lettering found on a 1960s kitchen appliance catalog. It evokes ’60s TV and pop culture while still having a contemporary feel. The fun exuberant flavor of this face is perfect for parties and celebrations. The letters dance across the baseline and the lower case wants to be an upper case but just can’t quite make it. P22 Festiva Regular includes a full unicode European Character set (Western, CE, Turkish, Romanian, etc).

A ”modern“ Gothic – designed according to principles of modern form in three variations Faber Gotik is a reminiscence of Gutenberg’s first script from around 1450. The heavily broken forms allow further development in the direction of a modern, strongly geometric and less formal type. It should be possible to push the principle of design so far to the limit that a type is created which, from the very start, extinguishes reminders of a dark past. The characters are composed of squares which are lined up straight or in a more or less slanted manner. The resulting corners similar to serifs were removed so that a sans serif type in the true sense without up and down strokes was created. The principle of ”breaking“ was applied according to the historical model. Even the form of the characters is based on the model from the Middle Ages. Only the characters which cannot be created with the principle described were modeled on today's forms. Faber Gotik includes three variations: - Faber Gotik Text — most similar to the historical model - Faber Gotik Gothic — pushes the applied principle of form the furthest - Faber Gotik Capitals —; a Gothic upper case font, contrary to tradition. 555 years after Gutenberg, interest in black-letter typefaces is nearly extinct. They are especially looked down upon in German-speaking countries because they are still associated with ”Nazi“ scripts. But yet, the very forms of blackletter, Gothic, Schwabacher and especially cursive have enormous potential with regard to the development of new advanced font forms.

ITC Astro is the typeface that proves you can get your work done while watching cartoons. “It all started as a series of doodles while I was watching The Jetsons,” recalls Sasa Petricic. “The show's impossibly simplistic vision of the twenty-first century cried out for a font that fit into that world -- a world where everyday objects can carry far more fun and personality than they should.” ITC Astro is the first commercial typeface design from Petricic, whose “day job” is working as a reporter for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Petricic has filed stories from across Canada and around the world for CBC's flagship evening newscast, The National. His reports have also appeared on CNN and BBC Television. Petricic's work as a correspondent and video journalist have taken him to six continents, covering everything from famine and genocide in Africa to the war in Iraq. With such serious matters filling the hours of Petricic's day as a journalist, it's not hard to see why he conceived Astro as a welcome blast of whimsy. “As I began to draw the design,” he says, “I decided that every part of Astro should be a cartoon character unto itself.” Each character has its own baseline shadow (or coaster, or circular antigravity generator, depending on how you look at things). The angular caps dance jauntily, rocking from left to right, while a suite of companion small caps provide backup. The end result is a design quite unlike any other, with surprising charm and versatility. ITC Astro comes in a two-weight family of White and Black.

Resist Sans is a free-spirited neo-grotesque that embodies both the innate desire for revolt and a tendency towards uniformity. While Resist Sans preserves the neat, minimalist look which is associated with neo-grotesques, it also accentuates the tentativeness of each letter form. The name, too, hints at the rebellious character of the typeface. Resist Sans comes in 28 styles (14 uprights and matching obliques). Text vs Display Resist Sans comes in two versions: Display and Text, which serve different purposes but remain interchangeable and even complementary in some cases. Busted is the very strange and out-of-character outburst of Bill Troop, a guy who was classically trained in everything, from classical piano and literature to classical photography and type design. As far as we could tell, Bill Troop is the kind of guy whose appearance and voice instantly trigger thoughts of black and white photos, fedoras, and pre-industrial age Europe. A few years ago, he even moved from the United States to England, where it took him less than a week to feel at home and start sounding like a Norwich native. Then something happened and the poor dude just snapped. Busted is the controversial result of the blood rushing to his head. If you know what exactly happened to him, please let us know. Concern, consideration and human interest story aside, Busted is a fascinating thing. It is a set of four interchangeable thick outline fonts where the same letter forms turn from wild to wilder to broken to somewhat clean. Mix them up in a setting and you have words that snarl with a sneer. Life's too short. Take it all with a grain of salt. Scream whenever you feel like it. Busted Pro is a single font combining all four character sets, and rigged with an OpenType pseudo-randomizer in the contextual alternates feature, which you can disable or enable anywhere in your setting for maximum visual shock just the way you like it. MyCRFT was designed as a custom heading typeface for Drew Maughan's IhNohMinecraft project. ABOUT THE PROJECT Beginning life in 2015 under the name Mascoteers, the project was an ensemble of small-scale characters built from LEGO elements. The challenge was in creating the different figures with the restrictions of existing LEGO elements, while being recognisable as individual characters. The project was initially well received within the LEGO community and with the general public, but was eventually ignored and even ridiculed in favour of LEGO's own BrickHeadz theme, launched in late 2016. It was rebranded IhNohMinecraft as a response to the deliberate cries of "Ih dih Minecraft?" since BrickHeadz' launch. The project has no relation to the popular game. ABOUT THE TYPEFACE The motivation to create MyCRFT was as part of establishing IhNohMinecraft as its own project, by giving it a new visual identity. The typeface could be described as a cross between the ones used for Gears Of War and Overwatch. I liked the boldness of the former, and the italicized straight edges of the latter. MyCRFT was intended to be used in its Black Italic form from the beginning, and was designed around the letters from the word MINECRAFT. Where I couldn't decide on specific characters, I've included the designs as alternative glyphs. I've also included the old "square" Mascoteers logo and the newer "head" IhNohMinecraft logo. Imogen Agnes is a hand-made, signature-style font designed to create personal, stylish lettering quickly & easily. A bit of background; During my years as a freelance designer, I had always been a huge fan of signature-style fonts but frustratingly found them few and far between. Now don't get me wrong - some of them are visually stunning. But I found them almost too perfect, or too digitised, to make you think that someone had quickly scribbled it down on paper. So that's why I created Imogen Agnes. It works great for personal logos, but also makes for a strong standalone script font with a bit of a retro vibe to it. It comes with upper & lowercase characters, numerals, punctuation and supports international languages. It also comes with a bonus set of 15 swashes just to add that extra touch of finesse to your text. Stylistic alternates for several key lower case characters are also available, accessible in the Adobe Illustrator Glyphs panel, or under Stylistic Alternates in the Adobe Photoshop OpenType menu.

Carta Marina is based on the titling found on the famous map drawn by Olaus Magnus in 1539. The map of northern Europe took 12 years to complete, and the total size is a huge 1.7 meters tall by 1.25 meters wide. More information about the map, as well as the high resolution reference document used to create the typeface and illustration set can be found at the James Ford Bell Library, University of Minnesota. The titling is slightly aged, very sturdy and elegant. Carta Marina includes a full set of OpenType alternates for every character in the English alphabet, oldstyle figures, historical forms, small caps and 64 discretionary ligatures. These ligatures are used to alter the appearance of the type so that the printing appears realistic and without any duplicate letters to detract from the antique appearance. The Carta Marina family also includes some of the unique illustrations that gave the map its character. It includes depictions of fanciful sea creatures, land animals and some of the inhabitants of the lands pictured.

Lepontic is an ancient Alpine Celtic language that was spoken in parts of Rhaetia and Cisalpine Gaul (now Northern Italy) between 550 and 100 BC. Lepontic is attested in inscriptions found in an area centered on Lugano, Switzerland, and including the Lake Como and Lake Maggiore areas of Italy. While some recent scholarship (e.g. Eska 1998) has tended to consider Lepontic simply as an early outlying form of Gaulish and closely akin to other, later attestations of Gaulish in Italy (Cisalpine Gaulish), some scholars (notably Lejeune 1971) continue to view it as a distinct Continental Celtic language. In this latter view, the earlier inscriptions found within a 50 km radius of Lugano are considered Lepontic, while the later ones, to the immediate south of this area, are considered Cisalpine Gaulish. Lepontic was assimilated first by Gaulish, with the settlement of Gallic tribes north of the River Po, and then by Latin, after the Roman Republic gained control over Gallia Cisalpina during the late 2nd and 1st century BC

Poeta is an ornamental font for making patterns and text decoration. It contains floral and nature motifs. The symbols are versatile enough for simple decoration or festive holiday moods. Designers can use Poeta to make unique lines, fields, borders, or ornamentation within or around text. Try replacing a simple straight line with repeated symbols. This font began with sketches of patterns seen in ceramic tiles around Sicily. It is named Poeta because Sicily is an island rich in poetry traditions. Using this font is simple. Install it and type. Ocean Beach is a fun, retro, all-caps Nautical Art Deco headline font. It sports geometric letterforms, perfect circles and highly stylized crossbars with waves on several letters—think the beach, flags rippling in the breeze and Fred and Ginger tap-dancing merrily on the deck of a ship! The inspiration for this font are the many whimsical nautical-themed buildings still to be found dotting the landscapes of America, from South Beach in Miami to hidden gems tucked away in industrial areas of southern California. I was fascinated by some of them when I was growing up, and in doing research on Art Deco styles I found many images of these wonderful buildings sporting portholes, streamlined moderne details and even faux rivets. Ocean Beach is created with a 3-stroke detail, and the complexity of the design will be appreciated better in larger sizes of type (36 pts or larger). Use this font for any application that needs a bold, decorative or Art Deco look; great for signage, magazine layout, illustration, posters and packaging.

Chercán is a spirited typeface created with a delicate sense of how readability doesn't need to be dull. Chercán wears a uniquely friendly voice, and its mature design makes it highly legible in small bodies as well as in the distance. Its balanced rhythm is the result of a slow pairing of qualities found in old classics admired by Gálvez, such as Copperplate by Frederic Goudy (1905) and Antique Olive by Roger Excoffon (1962). Chercán occupies a unique place in the contemporary type design shelf, by exquisitely combining versatility and elegance. Due to the delicate grey colors it gains within long texts, Chercán is good for immersive reading, where one wants to avoid readers’ eyes fatigue. It can be a great choice for setting texts that require a slightly informal atmosphere without losing authority. Chercán is the Chilean name for the melodious little bird Troglodytes aedon usually found all across the Americas. Available in Std and Pro versions with all the usual OT features, Chercán addresses all modern needs of the demanding typographer.

An eye-catching and practical type family that doesn't intend to be retro or evoke any geometrical cliché. Ranging from a low contrasted thin to a vigorous black, Denso is available in both low and high contrast versions. All consistently developed across two styles, Serif and Sans. Marked by the vertical rhythm, enhanced by the enormous x-height, Denso has the typographic qualities that will allow the design to be highly readable, with a strong stylish statement.

Quanta was designed without reference to existing sansserif faces. As an original design, Quanta draws on principles of letterform developed during my studies of lettercarving (in Wales with Ieuan Rees) and Roman proportion. My intention was to produce a highly legible and adaptable sans-serif, initially intended to be a TrueType GX font, then as a Multiple Master font, later as a five weight range from extremely thin to extra black. A related uncial design will be released shortly.

Soliden is a neo grotesk san serif font family with solid letterforms. Designed and published by Eko Bimantara in 2022, Soliden became a suitable choice for large display and functional purposes.
