Culebra is a neo-traditionalist small-caps font designed in the tradition of high-end metalwork craftspeople and Western & Victorian sign-painting styles. With a bit of a nod to the standard of perennial favorites like Copperplate Gothic font, Culebra brings some eye-catching design touches and a more condensed structure for more economical use of horizontal space. Andove is a narrow sans font with very tight compression. With a slim character and a fairly large x-height, Andove looks great for very large and eye-catching typesettings. A Tartufo is a truffle in Italian. I have to admit, I have never eaten one, so I couldn’t really tell you if they’re any good. I suppose they are, but you’ll have to find that out for yourselves! Tartufo font is a bit of a weird font. It was hand made with a rollerball pen on some very expensive French paper. As I was drawing each glyph, I figured I might as well include Cyrillic and Greek. Tartufo is not a text font - I’d use it for packaging, posters, book covers and T-shirts. Comes with a whole bunch of diacritics!

British designer Jeremy Tankard began Blue Island in 1996 with the idea of creating a completely ligature-based roman typeface, an original but complex task that took years to realize. Individually, Blue Island's letters can appear a bit dismembered, but when set together, they are clearly transformed into words which fall in waves down the page. Successfully balancing readability with intriguing decorative forms, Blue Island is especially effective for titling. As for its romantic name, Blue Island is the title of a poem, also by Tankard, which evokes notions of freedom, escape, intrigue, and the undulating beauty of the sea.

Skaryna 2017 Title is a revival of the original typeface designed and cut by Francisk Skaryna in 1517–1519. Skaryna 2017 Title is designed to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the original work by Francisk Skaryna (lat. Franciscus Scorina de Poloczko) — scientist and educator from Polotsk (current Belarus). The original designs contain only Cyrillic characters. So Latin and additional characters were added to make the legacy of Francisk available for the World. The revival was designed to stay close to the original and remain a little bit inaccurate as early Renaissance printing technologies were. This project was sponsored by Anton Bryl.

Tabulamore is a monospaced script typeface with two goals: to make a script face that looks as natural as possible within the limitation of monospace, and to offer better all-cap solution where many script typefaces fail to address. The typeface style is generally a loosely spaced casual script, whose spacing allows big letters like M W m to fit comfortably. The automatic small cap part is based on so-called Architect�s Casual style, and shows up automatically depending on the context. We just had the Eurovision Song Contest here in Holland. I quite like to watch it, as it is usually a freak show of kitsch, political incorrectness and often really bad music. But it is a laugh and this year was no different. It inspired me to create this particular font with this particular name. Sing Along is a happy, wobbly, kitschy font that comes with a bit of ‘over-the-topness’, a few personality issues and an unsteady gait. Needless to say, it is politically incorrect, but that, my friends, is not necessarily a bad thing.

Fluffapalooza a fluffy handwritten font. It has a fun, warm, raw, cute, happy atmosphere, and gives a little bit quirky dorky vibes. I have no great love for walls, especially when they are built to keep people out. When I started working on this font, I realized it looked a bit like protest graffiti, found on… yes, walls. Down The Wall is a great little font: it is handwritten, messy and in your face. It has no real baseline and glyphs jump all over the place. Use it for book covers, posters, album covers - anything really. It certainly would look good on a wall too! Comes with a whole bunch of diacritics, so whatever you have to say, the world will understand.

On occasion, one type design's influence can result in a completely different end result. Take the hand lettering found on a 1920s piece of sheet music for the song "Let Me Call You Sweetheart". The simple sans with a few Art Nouveau-inspired characters started out as the basic design of Concierge JNL, but shortly after beginning the project, the lettering took on more of an Art Deco flavor. Add to this the many rounded-edge characters that have a bit of a techno look to it and the typeface takes on many different design characteristics.

A friend of a friend to the didones, it has smaller, tapering serifs, slightly calligraphic traits, and spindly little terminals that go where they please. It’s a headline face. Period. Set it big and bold. Or light and airy. But preferably next to something with flair. Cuff links, canapés, or corvettes–it’s up to you. Distinct ligatures, ornaments, and swashy alternates provide plenty of character to tailor your style.

Hand-hewn along the banks of the mighty River Raisin in Southeast Michigan, this heavy block typeface is the perfect addition to any design project in need of a stout, yet fun typographical treatment. Before this font made its journey into the outside world, it began its life as a 4B pencil sketch on cheap inkjet printer paper, as many of my projects do. This typeface, not unlike me, doesn't waste its time with finesse, or convention, and truly doesn't mind being a little bit on the thick side. There is a time for refinement and propriety, but this ain't it.

Niveau Grotesk—the companion of Niveau Serif —is a type family of six weights plus matching italics and small caps. It was designed by Hannes von Döhren in 2013. Influenced by classical nineteenth-century faces, the fonts are based on geometric forms. Because of its straight architecture, Niveau Grotesk has a “punch” in big sizes but is very legible in smaller sizes and longer texts—in print or on screen. It could be you’ve never heard of Bergie Seltzer - and neither had I. Basically, Bergie Seltzer is the fizzing sound an iceberg makes when it melts. We are having a bit of a heat wave right now, so I needed to give this font a ‘cool’ name! Bergie Seltzer font is a cool, all caps display font. It has a slightly eroded look (like a melting iceberg if you will) and a laid back attitude. Use it for your summer magazines, your ultra-cool websites and your bottles of fizzy drink! Just don’t melt the polar cap!

XPawnShop is a typographical chess font; the pieces are letters. The Pawn is an awkward letter P, the knight is a horse in the shape of an h, the bishop is a decorative letter B, the rook is an elephant with an R shape, the queen is a Q, and the king is an ornate K. Two other XPawnShop fonts are made of very simple pieces, but as a bonus, both have the set of dominoes from the unicode block 1F030 to 1F093. The key layout is a bit complicated; see the key guide for detailed information on how to position pieces correctly.

'Brokken’ is the Dutch word for ‘chunks’. They are the hearty specialty of the house, prepared by the ship’s cook Donald DBXL Beekman. Nice'n'greasy and monospaced, you'll always find a decent way to cram the letters in. Brokken is straightforward, straight-lined with beveled corners, and all caps. For the ones who have to watch their weight, or who simple don’t like their fonts to be too fatty, DBXL designed a diet version called Brokken Light. With their big contrast, both weights combine very well and are great for making ultra-compact ribbon headlines or stacking vertically.

Nightmare font is a simple attempt to convey the essence of a handwritten font with strong lines. In a real handwritten font, you would find more variation in line thickness, curves, and other design elements that contribute to the overall style. Creating a visual representation of a handwritten font using lines can be a bit challenging in plain text, but I'll provide a simple ASCII representation that may give you an idea of a strong handwritten style. Keep in mind that this is a very basic representation, and actual fonts would have much more detail and nuances.

Classic XtraRound is a companion typeface to Classic Round, designed by Ben Blom. Although Classic Round has a lot of roundness, Classic XtraRound has more. Getting ready in advance for a dark winter, we've decided to design a special fontfamily which would bring a bit of vitamins and summer sun into the rough everyday routine and help us survive the cold winter. Marista is a bit of an unusual design, a cursive monospaced font inspired by the classic cursive typewriter fonts used in the 1960s-70s. It is designed to feel 'real', and captures some of the light irregularities in line weight which characterise real typewritten text rather than their computer equivalents. Marista is distinctive but easily readable, even in block text where some monospaced fonts suffer. Marista is best used at small to medium sizes, and at a uniform size throughout a document or design to capture the typewritten feel. The italic is more similar to authentic typewriter cursive fonts.
