Bague is a classical roman typeface, which was inspired in Old Dutch style, especially in the work of Jan Van Krimpen. Koala was originally designed in 1999 by Eric de Berranger with an individual, independent character. A distinguishing characteristic of this sans serif font is its marked stroke contrast, typical of Modern Face fonts. The open, airy forms are reminiscent of ancient Roman capitals. The lower case letters display traits similar to those often seen on posters and in advertisements of the 1930s and 1940s. The lively Koala is particularly good for shorter texts and headlines in larger point sizes and combines well with fonts with little stroke contrast.

Gelion is a large family of geometric sans serif fonts. It ships both as two Variable Fonts or as 16 traditional fonts. Those static fonts span eight different weights, ranging from Extralight to Black. Each has an upright and an italic font on offer. The italics are carefully crafted, with an 8° slope. Gelion is inspired by 20th-century geometric sans serifs and classic neo-grotesque designs from the late 19th century and the middle of the 20th century. Its forms remain true to the gracefully geometric look of its classic predecessors, which will surely tick off any client’s long list of branding requirements. Letters in all of Gelion’s weights are drawn with virtually monolinear strokes. Its lowercase letters have a tall x-height. Yet, that still leaves enough room for the fonts’ diacritical marks. A simple rough font. Kraft is a rough techno-style sans serif meant for setting text in all capitals. Instead of lowercase letters there are capitals of smaller height but with the same stroke width. LTC Spire with alternate caps was designed by Lanston’s type director Sol Hess in 1937. Spire Roman was designed without lowercase. But it includes alternate rounded caps which transform this extra condensed “fat face” into more of an art deco titling face. Spire Roman has been used within department store logos, luxury hotel signage, perfumes, etc, etc.

Pontif is a typeface based on the inscriptional lettering work of Luca Horfei, the Vatican scribe who designed the major inscriptions for Pope Sixtus V's Baroque-makeover of Rome in the sixteenth century. Afronaut PRO (New version of typeface published in 2019) was inspired by vernacular Latin & Arabic typography in St. Louis (on Senegal-Mauretania Border, Africa). After reading "Afronautics – from Zambia to the Moon" by Bartek Sabela (about Zambian conquest of space) a breif was set to create typeface that looks like mix between: vernacular Arabic script, futuristic typography and some special lettering that I found in Africa during my travels to Guinée, Bissau, Gambia, Senegal, Mauritania and West Sahara. “Greuceanu” is the the name of a brave romanian fairy tale character and his mission was to eliberate de Sun and the Moon that were stolen by some Dragon like creatures that in romanian folklore they are called “ Zmei”. It inspired me to create this decorative uppercase display typeface with strong influences from old cyrillic writing and also a touch of fun and geometrical construction explorations. Besides Extended Latin Support it includes also Cyrillic and Greek alphabets as you already can expect from most of DePlictis Types releases. INSPIRATION When I recently started my web graphic novel focusing around Demonic Possessions, Crime and Paranormal occurrences, I felt the need to have a type that spoke very unconventionally and supported the language of my story. I wanted to break apart from the usual Comic Sans like typefaces used for decades in Pop cultural mainstream Comics, and wanted something very sublime and independent in style concurrent to the the parallel digital media of Web Comic genre. Thus I created my own type to help translate the communication of my plot thicker to the plain old “Lettering” Font.
