The Brass Family has a lineage that extends into English history. About five hundred years ago a devout, but anonymous Englishman gave glory to the God he worshipped by designing the capital letters and decorations of these two fonts. Originally recorded in The History Of Mediaeval Alphabets And Devices by Henry Shaw (London 1853), they are described by Alexander Nesbitt in his Decorative Alphabets And Initials (Mineola, NY 1959) as “Initials and stop ornaments from brasses in Westminster Abbey.” I wish I could say I remember seeing them when I was there, but that was forty-two years ago and all I remember was seeing the tomb of Edward the Confessor. One definition of “stop” as a noun is a point of punctuation. I have heard people from the British Isles speak of a “full stop” when referring to a period. Some may remember a 19th century form of communication called a telegram being read aloud in an old movie, with the use of the word “stop” to indicate the end of a sentence or fragment. A full dozen of these stop ornaments are provided. They occupy positions 060, 062, 094, 123, 125, 126, 135, 137, 167, 172, 177 & 190. The Brass Family consists of two fonts: Brass and Brass Too. Both fonts have an identical upper case and ornaments, but paired with different lower cases. Although the typefaces from which the lower cases were drawn are both of modern design, both are interpretations of the textura style of blackletter in use in England when the upper case and ornaments were fashioned for the Abbey. Brass is paired with Morris Gothic, which matches the color of the upper case quite well. Brass Too is paired with Wedding Regular, which is distinctly lighter than the upper case. I find it very interesting how each connects differently. The resulting fonts are unusual and most useful for evoking an historic atmosphere.

Golden Ticket is a digitization of hand-drawn poster lettering by Otto Heim from 1925. The regular style is meant to be used on its own, but the other three styles are meant to be used one on top of another in three different colors to create a 3D effect. For best results, put the base style on the bottom, with the fill style directly on top of that in a different color, and the highlight style directly on top of that in a third color.

Goldbarre is a finely engraved slab serif face in the spirit of ‘between the wars’ commercial confidence. It’s a solid and dependable face of distinction for use on certificates and posters which need to convey an emphatic yet refined message. The letterforms of Goldbarre combine finely hatched shading with and embossed, three-dimensional, quality. The utility of the family is further enhanced with Goldbarre No 2 - a solid shaded face, Goldebarre No 3 - an open embossed face, and Goldbarre No 4 - a basic black slab-serif face.

Modified Gothic is an art deco titling face developed by the Linotype Design Studio. This typeface includes the following features: letterforms drawn with a monoweight line, a relatively narrow character base, proportionally altered small caps" in lieu of a lower case, and a distinctly round feeling. Use Modified Gothic anytime you need to evoke the spirit of the roaring 20s! Modified Gothic looks great in headlines, as well as in short lengths of large body text. Modified Gothic is part of the TakeType 4 Library."

Tosca is a very elegant and decorative typeface with 730 glyphs. I put a second set of capital letters in the places of the smallcaps. So just type the word in lowercase, then select the first letter and convert it to smallcap in the OpenType menu. I also give you a ton of ligatures that can be accessed via OpenType. Lytiga Pro is a modern sans-serif typeface with a pronounced techy feel. The family contains 48 fonts: 8 weights from thin to black, 3 widths, and italics. Urban Grotesk attempts to follow the best of traditions of Grotesk typefaces: rounded arches, slightly thinner connecting strokes and a vertical shadowing axis, where outstrokes are terminated strictly in perpendicular to the stroke direction. The primary characteristics are the connection of the rounded stroke to the stem, a round dot, lower and more thrifty uppercase, and generous numerals. The width proportions of characters is almost unified, the text colour creates a unified grey area on a page. An airy metric aids good legibility in shorter texts.

Harietta is a decorative, smooth font with rounded shapes and lot's of OpenType features. Harietta has lot's of additional glyphs (Ligatures, Stylistic Alternates, Swashes), that will help you to create a unique lettering composition. To create a swash in the end of the word just type one or two underscore symbols and number from 1 to 9 and it will be replaced with one of the swashes (check out that “Standard Ligatures” feature is enabled in OpenType panel).
