The simple song title "May I", found on the sheet music from the 1934 Bing Crosby-Carole Lombard film "We're Not Dressing" was hand lettered in a blocky, ultra-bold Art Deco design that foreshadowed the techno look of the 1970s and 1980s. This became the basis for Art Techno JNL.

Based on the logotype lettering for the Dutch magazine Geillustreerd Schildersblad in 1940, this devilishy different Deco font will add a bit of naive charm to any project it graces. A popular caps-only type of late Victorian times was called Mural, brought out by Boston Type Foundry in 1890. We always liked it, drew a lowercase for it, and then strengthened it by adding a bit of weight. It now has a nice, understated retro look for paragraphs of copy.

The other day, I was thinking how time flies and how my kids grow up so fast. In the blink of an eye, they had turned from babies into almost-teenagers. They're not teenagers yet, but given their tantrums, it does feel like I have three teenagers in the house... ;-) Ogenblik, in Dutch, means: ‘in the blink of an eye’, ‘lightning fast’, or ‘for a brief moment’. It’s similar to the German ‘Augenblick’, which means exactly the same. Ogenblik was made with the same dried out marker pen that helped me create my font Castlerigg. I guess it had more than one extra font in it! Ogenblik is a bit of a grungy, yet quite legible and neat font. Comes with multilingual support.

Is our first typeface that clearly shows a distinct weight difference between the uppercase and the lowercase and the spacing is very open to provide a much more mechanical feeling. Isento and Isento Slab ranges from Thin to ExtraBold with perfectly matching italics. Immediately seemed very clear that a slab serif companion would follow the sans, therefore Isento Slab is the perfect companion to Isento, with very strong rectangular serifs, ideal to set short passages of text or to become the key actor in a big headline.

A Belle Époque humanist serif in two styles: crisp, high-contrast Haut-Monde and soft, low-contrast Demimonde… When you design a lot of display pieces, you’re often in need of tall, slim type. Liaisons provides that, in a distinct fin-de-siècle style inspired by the great posters of the Gilded Age from Sweden, Denmark, France, and Scotland. (The ampersand alone is a bit of a love letter to Charles Rennie Mackintosh!) The April 8, 1932 issue of The Film Daily ran an ad for a film entitled "The Sin of Lena Rivers". Hand lettered in a block style of chamfered characters, it is reminiscent of the 1920s, but still carries a touch of Art Deco influences with the thinner and extended horizontal strokes of the E, F and H. This retro sans serif design is now available digitally as Evil Ways JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

In the spirit of railway travel posters and illustrated news journals, its a wonderful font for poster design, or for book covers and other work with a period theme.

This font has been developed based on the engraving by the German artist Daniel Hopfer (1470-1536) listing the Latin ABC. While creating the font I tried to preserve the archaism and certain imperfection characteristic for the prototype to accentuate its charm. Fanciful convolution on the serif make it a bit fairy-tale like and cheerful. The font is also available with decorated dots as in the original version. All the letters in the font are capital.

Blatt is a retro-modern font which features downtoned strokes of writing brush, a writing instrument of Korean Serif font. The vertical/horizontal and high-contrast strokes as well as large graphemes complete the modern style of Blatt, with strokes finished off by the distinctive style of Latin Bracketed-Serif fonts. The pLatinum family was created in 1998. Ink, scanner, Fontographer and as a result Regular and Italic styles of pLatinum typeface. Kyrillitsa'99 International type design competition Award winning typeface. The design style is “Irregular Serif”. The glyphs of pLatinum roman are reminiscent of the Russian types of early eighteenth century—especially in the smaller point sizes. An Italic, surprisingly close to the handwriting copybooks of mid-eighteenth century, is a later addition to the design.

Thursday Afternoon is like a typewriter that was out in the rain all night - all wobbly and worn, but with the well-known details of a typewriter, just a bit...well a lot...out of the ordinary! Although being awkward, Thursday Afternoon is surprisingly legible. I'd like that the font should be used for labels, toys for kids, candy or any kind of organic product. It even looks really well with headlines or shoutouts in all-caps!

I love riding English double decker buses! I haven’t been on one lately, but for some reason I had an image of a red double decker bus in my head when I made this font. Doubledecker is a bold, cartoon-like, handmade font. It comes in regular and dots, plus a bonus doodle font called Doubledecker Stuff.
