Hatchway is a monospaced display typeface with rounded corners, suitable for headlines and short passages of text. Hatchway has a tall x-height and unusually short ascenders and descenders. The family contains seven weights from Thin to Black and five widths from Ultra Condensed to Ultra Extended. This version (1.0) comes with Multiple Language Support, including Extended Cyrillic, and Opentype Features.

Based on Morris Fuller Benton's 1905 oeuvre American Extra Condensed, this titling face packs a lot of information into very little horizontal space. Its champfered corners give the font an industrial feel which remains fresh even after more than a century. Both versions include the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets, with localization for Lithuanian, Moldovan and Romanian.

Here's a faithful rendering of a typeface originally named Octic, from the 1884 specimen book of the Palmer & Rey Type Foundry of San Francisco. Its geometric severity is softened by the gently scalloped "bites" taken out of the corner. Sets tight to make attention-getting headlines. The hand lettered title on the cover of the 1938 sheet music for “If It Rains – Who Cares” featured a condensed Art Deco typeface made with a round nib pen. The square shaped characters with rounded corners were a perfect subject for a digital font revival, and are now available as Dip Pen Deco JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

A Braille font designed with the look of the Go Game. Lowercase glyphs use black stones while uppercase use white stones. To make the text more like within a Goban, Corner and border glyphs are provided. Also the font allows a "new kind of ASCII Art" by providing the missing glyphs (black stones) which enable this usage (see "drawille" project on Github).

Numis was born out of a coin collecting hobby. A quick survey of coins from the late medieval to modern periods to today led to this unicase design. The rounded corners and smoothed edges are meant to evoke a the slightly worn letterfaces found on old coins; a process that tends to bolden the text before being rubbed away completely.

A hand-rendered advertisement for a leather tanner, appearing in a French book from the ’40s, served as inspiration for MVB Bovine. Using its comic sway and slightly exaggerated forms, the typeface delivers bold headlines with a wink and a smile. MVB Bovine is all-caps with a set of discretionary ligatures. HWT Artz is the newest wood type to be cut at Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum. It was designed by venerable type designer Erik Spiekermann exclusively for his own print studio (P98a in Berlin), specifically to be cut into large size wood type. The digital version is being offered to the general public with proceeds of sales to benefit the museum's ongoing operations. HWT Artz evokes bold early 20th century European poster lettering. The design itself is intended to minimize hand-finishing and thus production time with rounded corners rather than sharp interior corners that would normally have to be hand-finished. In keeping with the tradition of naming new Hamilton designs after key figures from the living history of Hamilton (and following Spiekermann's tradition of four letter font names), Artz is named after Dave Artz- Hamilton Manufacturing retiree and master type trimmer.

Maga shares the skeleton with one of our first typefaces (Quaestor, from 2004), but we didn't want to simply expand an existent design, so we took a step forward—not just with improved features and new weights, but also making the italics more usable than its predecessor. FF Marselis crossbreeds geometric and humanistic forms, creating a freshly dynamic sans serif family. All of the counters in the typeface are open; this aids readers’ eyes quickly flow across lines of text, without experiencing hang-ups. Certain superfluous strokes have been eliminated – there are no spurs on the b or q, for instance. The alphabet’s diagonals all bow outwards slightly, adding flavor to the “A”, “K”, “R”, “V”, “W”, “X”, “Y” and “Z”.

This typeface is named after Sarah Eaves, the woman who became John Baskerville’s wife. As Baskerville was setting up his printing and type business, Mrs. Eaves moved in with him as a live-in housekeeper, eventually becoming his wife after the death of her first husband, Mr. Eaves. Like the widows of Caslon, Bodoni, and the daughters of Fournier, Sarah similarly completed the printing of the unfinished volumes that John Baskerville left upon his death.

Graffix is best described as a modern classic. A crisp geometric sans serif with just a hint of Art Deco in the roll of the capital A, D & R, and the curvaceous lines of the capital M, V & W. The distinctive tear shaped counters of the lower case a, b, d, p & q give it its essential character, together with such quirky features as the angular descenders of the lower case g and j.

Decutto is a neo-grotesque that packs the Marionette formula and some blackletter ideas into a low-contrast sans serif design. Its name plays on the phrases “off cut” and “cut to” which express the key feature – the contemporary legible letter shape is decorated with cut carved edges and counters, giving the typeface crisp and simplistic look, like that of an old minted coin. Born from the intersection of the geometric and grotesque typefaces. Aribau Grotesk combines low contrast and generous width proportions with typical traits of american gothics from the early 20th century, like the counters aperture and a double story ‘g’. Driven by the process, some details that come from the geometric style arose, like the clean-shaped figures and the circular dots that convey a more affable and contemporary look. If you watched ND Gestalt glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. You know all these sans serifs will be lost in time, like tears in rain… If you like circles you will like ND Gestalt just as much. The unconventional stem to counter bridge in the lowercase gives this one its rather unique appeal. Fonts like this are unlike any other font – they’re either a benefit or a hazard. Beware!

Foundry Form Sans and Serif were drawn concurrently with matching proportions for harmonious use. Although designed to complement each other both families function independently. The original Swift (1985) proved its worth in corporate identities, magazines and newspapers and occasionally in books. It is a versatile type and can be used in a wide range of circumstances. It is a striking type, with large serifs, large counters and letters that produce a particularly strong horizontal impression. This means that words and lines in Neue Swift are easily distinguished, even where there are large spaces between words, as can occur in newsprint. Neue Swift's large, robust counters were designed to improve legibility particularly in newspapers. It was designed in the early eighties, when papers were less well printed than they are today, and its special features help it survive on grey, rough paper printed on fast rotary presses. Today it is used more often outside newspapers than in them. Neue Swift (2009) is the newest version of the Swift concept. It has been improved by technical and aesthetic enhancements, and has been expanded into a family of twelve variants. Rubber B is a heavy display typeface with very tight open counters & character spacing and non-existent closed counters. It is an amalgam of styles and influences that demands attention. It is comparable with the highly geometric experimental fonts of the '90s and early '00s, but also heavily inspired by decorative fonts of the '60s and the psychedelic poster art of the '70s. Spy Royal is a junctionless script typeface and comes in 6 styles. It’s a hybrid between script and so called streamline fonts. The origins are based on an advertising by Japan Airlines, dated around 1954, offering flights to San Francisco, Honolulu and Okinawa in the new DC-6B “Pacific Courier” airplane. Only the letters for the words “JAPAN AIR LINES” were used, so that the creative part was to reimagine a full font out of just a handful of uppercase letters. Originally released in 2004, Spy Royal was now undergoing a major rework and is now republished with additional styles like shadow-lines and 3D-shadow. Cloudbuster is K-Type’s take on the mid twentieth century style of extra condensed slabs/moderns inspired by Imre Reiner’s Corvinus Skyline of 1934. Unusually, Cloudbuster has a printed-look softness, courtesy of very slightly rounded corners throughout, so it looks a little less harsh than similar typefaces. The font is an imposing display face with elegant, unfussy letterforms and a generous x-height.

It is a handwriting-style font for body text that emphasizes gentleness and solidity by using less curvature and making use of a straight feel. The handwriting feeling is emphasized through the style that makes use of the natural bending and stroke order. Softness was added in the shape of a gentle curve, and perspective was applied by setting a vanishing point in the lower left corner.

Brasílica is a robust design, with wide proportions, that assimilates influences both from old style and modern types. The hand lettering found on the cover of the 1912 sheet music for "Somebody Else is Getting It" featured a blockish Art Nouveau style with rounded corners and a very lurid title [although it likely had a more innocent meaning in those days than the casual observer might interpret today]. Now available as Nouveau Standard JNL, it is available in both regular and oblique versions.

The cover of the 1904 sheet music from the Tibetan comic opera “The Forbidden Land” had the title hand lettered in an unusual Art Nouveau style. Mostly squared with rounded corners, many of the characters twisted, turned and extended in ways that took on the look of the Far East. This became the design model for Nouveau Moderne JNL, which is available in regular and oblique versions.
