Layal is an Arabetic type design with a calligraphic flavor. It follows the guidelines of the Mutamathil Taqlidi type style with one glyph for every basic Arabic Unicode character or letter, as defined in Unicode Standards version 5.1, and one additional, final-position, glyph for each Arabic letter that is normally connected with other letters from both sides in traditional cursive Arabic strings. Layal employs variable x-height values. Justus Erich Walbaum was a German punchcutter who worked in Weimar around 1800. He produced both serif and blackletter typefaces. Walbaum Fraktur" is based on his famous blackletter-style type (called Fraktur in German). Hazel is the work of British designer Phill Grimshaw. It is an all capital typeface with friendly, scratchy strokes ornamented with a whimsical, free-flowing embellishment. Hazel should be set slightly wider than usual letter and word spacing and will lend any headline or display both naturalness and elegance.

A typeface named, simply, Geometric, from the 1885 Cleveland Type Foundry specimen book, has been beefed up a bit and softened with round serifs to create this everything-old-is-new-again gem. Both versions of this font include the complete Latin 1252 and Central European 1250 character sets.

Stencil Board JNL is another typeface modeled from lettering made by a Diagraph stencil cutting machine. Diagraph was first to make stencil punch machines which are used both industrially and by the military. Thanks to Neil Haynes for the samples he provided from the company's machine testing department.

Lettering on a 1927 menu by prominent poster artist Razzia provided the inspiration for this decidely Deco typeface. The restaurant itself was the setting for one of Georges Simenon’s many Inspector Maigret novels. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).
