Cacao is another one of my "found fonts". I found this one in an old advertising for a French cocoa drink. Since I am a vervent lover of cocoa, I will give you my recipe for a normal coffee mug full of delicious hot cocoa. Mix three heaped teaspoons of sugar with one and a half to two teaspoons of finest cocoa powder. Then add a little cold milk, stir, add a little cold milk, stir, and so on until you have a mushy creamy consistency. Now slowly add - always stirring - boiling hot water til the cup is almost full. Transcend has been designed specifically for titling and branding purposes. This 8-font, all caps typeface is packed with OpenType features including discretionary ligatures and alternates that – when used subtly – help you to create distinctive headline typography. Transcend aims to be “The Ultimate Titling Typeface”. This typeface is an exploration of my own “Carrig” from 2014. I have evolved its core personality and embellished it by means of crisp, sharp lines and serifs, adding stylised ink traps/notches, as well as carefully considered swashes, flourishes, and ligatures that add a touch of class and refinement to every word you type. When drawing a new font, there is a time when the final form is found – almost – but the curves are not slick and clean yet, that's what I call the "raw" form. Raw – no sweeteners added! In this family I redefined this moment in type development for the eternally beautiful "Franklin Gothic". I call the design "Franklin Gothic Raw". This packet is the semi-serif addition. There never was a Franklin-Gothic with serifs but actually the font lends itself perfectly to a slab-serif. I started with adding a half serif and eventually add a full slab-serif later on.
