Xylo is a rugged, no-nonsense typeface that was originally designed in 1924 by the Benjamin Krebs type foundry in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Even back then, Xylo must have been very popular; the design made it at least as far as England. In 1995, after finding its design in an old London printer's reference book, the Letraset Type Studio faithfully converted Xylo into digital format. A time-proven display face, Xylo will convey a feeling of power and strength in any application. Best used big in headlines or logos; Xylo exudes an expressionistic and art deco spirit that just as much at home today as it was during the roaring 20s!

The English typographer Robert Harling created Tea Chest in 1939 with the Stephenson Blake foundry. Today, this classic design is available in digital format from Linotype GmbH. Tea Chest is a bold stencil face. The font's narrow letters are all caps, and they sport small, slab serifs. Harling's design was most likely reminiscent of the old industrial lettering painted onto boxes and wooden crates that used to be shipped all over the world on the high seas. These letters had to be simple to reproduce, easy to read, and not take up too much space! The three fonts in the Prescott series are re-creations of 19th century favorites with an Old West flavor. The town of Prescott was the capital of Arizona Territory from 1864 until 1912, when Arizona was admitted to the Union, and the capital moved to Phoenix. In 1986 Page Studio Graphics started its digital foundry in Arizona. The fonts are thoroughly pair-kerned, including all accented characters. Auto-kerning should be turned on in your application program. The font packages include both TrueType and PostScript versions, and are available in either PC/Win or Macintosh format. In order to avoid serious problems, be sure not to install the same fonts in both TrueType and PostScript on the same computer.

Prior to 500 AD the 24-rune Elder Futhark was used in Sweden. From 500 AD until 800 AD there were many Futharks which were transitions from the 24-rune Futhark to one of the 16-rune Futharks. By the end of this period the 24-rune Futhark was completely out of use , and only 16-runes Futharks were in use. By 900 AD two different types of Shorttwigs-Futharks had been born. One was popularized in Norway and the other was used in the west (the British islands). By 1000 AD the adjustment of the runes to the Latin alphabet had begun, and several versions are found up until the Dalrunes, about 1700-1800 AD.

On October 12th 1976 a new basilica was inaugurated in honor and in gratitude to the Patron Saint, the Virgin of Guadalupe, loved by the Mexican people. This basilica was designed by the Mexican architect Pedro Ramírez Vázquez (died on April 16th 2012). It stands out by its hug spacious interior, generously decorated with bronze elements. The aesthetic value of these items even includes many signs and text inscriptions in a particular typeface and style, of which this font is a reinterpretation. The purpose of this project is to revival this eclesiastical written letter forms in bronze and taking them to digital format. I was inspired to this on my last trip to Mexico in September of 2012.

Halloween lends itself to graphic images: witches, ghosts, bats, jack-o'lanterns and haunted houses. When we think of a haunted house, we generally think of a large, abandoned, derelict Victorian wood-frame house. The style is usually Second Empire or Queen Anne. There tends to be a lot of decoration. There is usually a porch or two with decorative spindle work. There is probably a tower, either square with a mansard roof such as one might see in Paris or round with a conical roof borrowed from a Loire Valley chateau. These houses were generally built in the United States between 1860 and 1900, products of the exuberance of a time before income tax. It took at least three servants to maintain such a house and was very expensive. Few can afford them today. That is why so many were converted to professional offices, multi-family dwellings or simply abandoned. HAUNTED HOUSE is our typographical contribution to Halloween. Based on our font PETRARKA ML, it features decorative capitol letters that utilize the silhouette of a Second Empire style house complete with a dead tree and a full moon. In the early days of printing everything had to be worked out from scratch. This set of lettering is based on section headings used by the Printer Lucas Brandis (no known relation), the first printer to operate in the city of Lübeck around 1473. They remind me of a medieval version of the spray paint graffiti so often seen on the sides of trains. A bit on the crude side, but also and importantly extremely noticeable. So whether you use it for creating old styled printing or some wild modern eye grabbing text item, its robust and sturdy shapes will be certain to grab the eye.

Garagin Rock was developed from the studies for the title of a publication called Garagin in 1999. Its use is indicated for the titles on posters and stuff like that, but feel free to dare. Anyway, it really was not made ​​for small sizes and is not a WebFont obviously, but again, feel free to dare. May you notice something odd in the baseline position, this is to keep leading with a defined size. But of course you can change it in any editing program. Being a heavy typeface, use in moderation... or not! Garagin Rock Lite is a version with a limited set of characters.

Minspire, inspired by my own handwriting. Originally started as part of my "Inspire" project during the pandemic. what was originally a personal challenge to keep my creativity level in difficult times, became a passion to learn making Typefaces professionally. (I don't think there is any school in the world that teaches you that properly). The name is a combination of my initials Mehras Irani, combined with the word inspire. The marker has been sitting in your pen drawer for years. You can't bring yourself to throw it out, because it's the best marker in the world; but it has become worn and frayed, and you can't bring yourself to use it, either. But today you have just the project for the best bad marker in the world, and you take it from the drawer, remove the cap, and notice with glee that time has accumulated a perfect supply of ink in the frayed tip. You bring it down on the pristine white paper in front of you, and magic begins to trace itself on the page...

Flyoika is a slab serif family with a fairly low x-height, long ascenders, and considerable contrast. The family has five weights, each with an italics and it can be used for either display or text. Flyoika was not designed to meet a particular need but rather out of curiosity. Years ago I had designed two slab serif families, FlyHigh and Euroika, that I recently noticed had a lot of similarities and I wondered what a blend of the two would look like. Several corresponding characters in the two families are considerably different and in cleaning up the results, I usually opted for simplicity. The name "Flyoika" reflects these origins.

I traveled a lot: in the beginning on my own, later as a tour guide. I always used the English word ‘abroad’ to describe a trip to a foreign country, but I noticed that the English, Australians and New Zealanders preferred the word ‘overseas’. I then realised that they all lived on an island, so most of the foreign countries for them were across the sea. I had to think of that when I made this font! Overseas is a brush font with a certain rough elegance to it. I made it using poster paint and a brush. Use if for posters, product packaging and book covers.

French designer Christophe Badani developed the Linotype Rough family in 1999. The family contains nine different typeface styles, each with a slightly different voice. The forms appear to have found a unique middle ground between hand-drawn letters and pure geometry, especially Linotype Rough Outline. Make sure to pay special notice to the true-italic forms in the three italic weights! Badani's attention to typographic detail is not to be missed. Linotype Rough is perfect for headlines and display work. The medium and bold weights can also function splendidly in text. OpenType Layout features: smallcaps, stylistic alternates, localized forms, standard ligatures, uppercase-sensitive forms and spacing, oldstyle figures, lining figures, smallcap figures, arbitrary fractions, superscript, subscript. Cambria has been designed for on-screen reading and to look good when printed at small sizes. It has very even spacing and proportions. Diagonal and vertical hairlines and serifs are relatively strong, while horizontal serifs are small and intended to emphasize stroke endings rather than stand out themselves. This principle is most noticeable in the italics, where the lowercase characters are subdued in style, to be at their best as elements of word-images. This font is suitable for business documents, email, web design.

This cuddly face is based very loosely on Dave Farey's Beesknees. This version is a little more regimented but no less fun, and is notable for the addition of a lower case, not found in Farey's design. This font contains the complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252) plus support for Central European (Unicode 1250) languages as well.

Although this condensed type is ideal for titles and headlines, it has small caps and letters with diacritical marks included as well. It keeps readability at mind, while trying to be as much "done-by-hand" as it can. It has unique tears on each edge of each letter and tilting on certain "slices of tape".

Lanvier is an all capital display face, inspired by the thirties streamline era look. Baraquiel is based on an interesting style of calligraphic script we found in a turn-of-the-century magazine ad. It is much more acutely slanted than most scripts, and has pretty dramatic variations in weight. Nonetheless it has high readability and works well in combination with many of our text fonts, particularly Evadare and Albemarle.
