Rollerscript is, in effect, a more modern version of Olicana whose letterforms were drafted using a nibbed pen and ink. Handwriting tends to change depending on what instrument you're using and with Rollerscript the outcome is decidedly more casual and informal than Olicana, though equally realistic. Pronounced pressure points where characters start, end or join make for a very authentic hand drawn appearance which is enhanced still further through the use of over 100 standard ligatures. Character pairings like ‘tt’ or ‘gg’ in normal handwriting fonts never look natural but in Rollerscript will now automatically change as you type! The official terseness and grey of Neo-Classical type faces will stand out when we narrow them. The consistently vertical shading of the letters suppresses one's desire for eccentricity, just like tea with bromine. It would, however, be wrong to consider Bodoni as the originator of this - vertically shaded - trend in type face production. In his Manual we can also find type faces with a slanted axis of shade, picturesque italics and a number of normal, more human type faces. It remains a mystery why his name is connected only with one of his many works. Genre's basic design is fairly light in colour, which is why it looks good in illustrated magazines and short texts and directly calls for graphically striking, contrasting headings. It shows off beautifully next to photographs, on diplomas and on printed materials connected with a person's death.

The 1960’s and 1970’s are the inspiration for Sugarbang! Everything from music packages, beach party movies of the 60’s to cereal box art of the 1970’s are reflected in the kooky style that this font evokes. Sugarbang! is built on a random baseline so letterforms bounce up and down adding to the “zany” look of the design. Dionisio, a CastleType original, takes its inspiration from one of the overlooked treasures of the CastleType library: Ransahoff. The latter is extremely condensed and very elegant. I particularly like its hairline slab serifs and cross-bars. I decided to use it as a starting point for a new design, but to make the proportions more classic and to make it more sensuous with gentler curves and bracketed cross-bar serifs. The result is very Bodoni-like, but less extreme and more contemporary looking. Meanwhile, Dionisio maintains a hint of Ransahoff with condensed letterforms and very fine serifs. Dionisio brings together the best of both, making it the perfect choice where a slender, sophisticated typeface is needed. Dionisio is available in two widths: normal and condensed, five fonts each. Carta Marina is based on the titling found on the famous map drawn by Olaus Magnus in 1539. The map of northern Europe took 12 years to complete, and the total size is a huge 1.7 meters tall by 1.25 meters wide. More information about the map, as well as the high resolution reference document used to create the typeface and illustration set can be found at the James Ford Bell Library, University of Minnesota. The titling is slightly aged, very sturdy and elegant. Carta Marina includes a full set of OpenType alternates for every character in the English alphabet, oldstyle figures, historical forms, small caps and 64 discretionary ligatures. These ligatures are used to alter the appearance of the type so that the printing appears realistic and without any duplicate letters to detract from the antique appearance. The Carta Marina family also includes some of the unique illustrations that gave the map its character. It includes depictions of fanciful sea creatures, land animals and some of the inhabitants of the lands pictured.

This svelte type family, whose name translates as "Blonde Goddess", is ideal for creating loquacious headlines in tight spaces, as well as dense informational blocks such as movie credits. ITC Stranger is the work of California designer Jill Bell, a slashing, almost menacing calligraphic typeface in a narrow, upright style. In small sizes, the strokes themselves draw more attention than the letterforms. In larger sizes, the effect is a little rougher and more diffuse, as the bristled ends of some strokes become apparent.

LATINATE is a condensed Latin typeface whose sharp serifs are not as fiercely pointed as traditional Latins. The fonts are derived from the serial numbers of bus tickets issued by the Bell Punch Company in the mid twentieth century, and the LATINATE ROUGH font is a distressed version based on scans of coarsely printed tickets.

A Qilin is a mythical hooved creature, looking a bit like a cow with a lion's head, reptilian scales and deer antlers. The Qilin features in Chinese lore, where it is often associated with good luck and prosperity. Qilin font is a rather messy typeface, created with a steel pen and Chinese ink. It might not be a classy font, but it will bring the buyer good luck! ;-)

FranklinGothicHandCond is another part of a series of hand-drawn fonts from way back in time – before computers changed the way we worked in advertising. When I was in advertising – before computers – a very time consuming part of my daily work was sketching headlines. I used to be able to sketch headlines in Franklin Gothic, Times, Futura, Helvetica and several scripts. We had a kind of huge inverted camera – which we called Lucy. We projected the alphabet onto a sheet of transparent paper, outlined the letters with a fineliner and then filled them in. It was very tedious work, but the resulting headline had its own charm and we had a permanent race going on who was best and fastest. I won most of the time! Behrens Initialen is based on the type graphics of the German architect and type designer Peter Behrens (1868-1940). The drawing of the original typeface is in tune with the Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) style in which Behrens worked. This is a light, delicate, somewhat theatrical typeface, the forms of which bear at the same time a certain shade of Gothic and modernity, and can be used, in particular, when there is a need to make a reference to medieval graphics while maintaining the modern style of composition. In the proposed version, the original initial graphics are used not only for uppercase letters, but also for Arabic figures, while for lowercase letters and for the base of other characters are used the letters themselves - without decorative framing. This feature can be useful for obtaining various effects when using both lower and upper cases in parallel, including when they are overlaid. The design of Rosenbaum started with the idea of an eclectic merger of didone stroke pattern and contrast, uncial letterforms and blackletter appearance. It was a destillation experiment. It happened around christmas in 2011. The result is a unique typeface which strongly evokes a peculiar pastiche mood without being any historical in the strict sense of the word. It’s all about the fun to mix ingredients and to freely create reminiscences in a new way. Made in La Chaux-de-Fonds (Switzerland), HyperTurfu was born during the shooting of “The Return of Hyperturfu Xpress 2”. A GoPro on a lego electric train, meters and meters of rails, an empty industrial space, loads of puppets, paper, cardboard, pizza boxes, lights, hot glue and a bunch of friends preparing a one shot scene for a month. The title of the movie was made out of lego pieces, painted with golden spray and hanged over the rails. It was the first inspiration for this awsome superbold font. HyperTurfu is thought from ground up to give a strong impact. It’s gothic retro science fiction 80’s style makes it best suitable for metal music albums or posters. As the “Banco” font it works perfectly with short texts for advertisement, bar, cofee shops concert places or even fancy hairdresser. Just hang it over a pet shop and see what cool animals will come in.

Italic type was invented by Aldus Manutius in 1499 or 1501, first, before to be a style name, it was a plain font familly name. This Italique style font was inspired from these who was used by Jean de Tournes in Lyon (France) to print La mÈtamorphose d'Ovide figurÈe, a splendid book with numerous gothic style wood carved pictures. The original font contains almost all modern usual characters except accented ones, no longer in use on that time. They have been added, with some others, with respect for the original design. . A render sheet, enclosed in file, help to identify various others unusual letters on keyboard. It is used as successfuly as web-site titles, posters and fliers design, editing ancien texts or greeting cards, invitations, gastronomic menus... and much more, as a very decorative and elegant font... It supports easily as enlargement as small size, remaining clear and easy to read from 8 or 9 points to 72 and more, particularly on prints.
