Nutcase is a perfect example of a font that principally designed itself. I created a hexagonal template (the most economical form in nature by the way) and took out the center to increase the decorative element. I played around with it, creating some pleasing characters at first but it soon became clear it would translate into a complete alphabet, so I set to work applying the idea to both upper and lower cases. It wasn't all straight forward though, avoiding awkward characters and retaining legibility took a little perseverance but it eventually paid off. I thought of this primarily as a decorative display face but having tested it out, found it reads surprisingly well as body copy too.

Cabragio is a free-flowing informal font, very curvy and quite heavy. The free-flowing effect is especially apparent in the lower case letters, and this font is definitely something a bit different -- yet is highly readable and attractive. Original and distinctive!

This humanist sans-serif typeface was exhaustively designed, full-featured typeface family that reveals its character and distinctiveness in complex settings. It features a large complement of ligatures, lining and old-style figures, expert characters, dingbats (arrows, brackets, and symbols for both Regular weights). Lisboa Sans lacks the hook-head terminals, but its structure and proportions are the same. The simplicity of the sans weight created very strong readability at small sizes. After ten years from the first version publication, this new version (0.2) is available with Latin (Western, Central Europe) and Cyrillic alphabets. It was selected by Our Favorite Fonts of 2005 (Typographica).

Sheet music for the song "Beyond the Blue Horizon" from the motion picture "Monte Carlo" had the movie title in hand-lettering reminiscent of the Futura Black style, but with an inline stripe through each character. These few letter examples were the basis for Gambling Resort JNL and conjure up the Nouveau Riche spending their nights in Monte Carlo packing the roulette wheels, blackjack tables and slot machines.

Gloriana is based on hand lettered titles from an old fairy tale book. The illustrator isn't credited, and we had to create and modify a lot of characters, but we preserved the interesting personality of the original lettering. In creating Gloriana the popularity of Folkard was kept very much in mind, so it has some of the same features, including special flourished characters accessed with the option/alt key.

Beletrio was made as companion to Beletria, it has many shapes in common. We already have plenty of sans-serif fonts with classical proportions in the Stormtype library, such as John Sans, Sebastian or Andulka, but Beletrio is certainly the most peaceful of the bunch – it shares not only the feel of its serif originator, but its soft curves provide lovely visual caress as well. The smooth endings are not visible at first, they are balanced for easy reading as they solve some critical relations such as "rv, ry, rt", but in larger sizes you'll fully enjoy the picturesque details. The year 2022 went and 2023 came. I can honestly say that last year was a horrible year and I am happy it ended a couple of days ago. The first week after New Year’s Eve always fills my head with the U2 song ‘New Year’s Day’ - so I named this font after a line from the lyrics. I also happened to watch a fantastic movie called ‘Im Westen Nights Neues’, directed by Edward Berger, but based on a book by Erich Maria Remarque, which, in English, was published as ‘All Quiet On The Western Front’. So there you have it: naming a font in 2 easy steps! ;-) All Is Quiet is a lovely brush font, which I created using my father in law’s Chinese pencil and ink. I can suggest some uses here, but I am convinced you can come up with that yourself.

GHEA Aram is a super family font. It has 10 upright weights and their Italics. GHEA Aram supports Central European, Armenian and Cyrillic language systems. The weights from Regular to Bold and their Italics can be used as text fonts. The weights thinner than Regular and thicker than Bold can be used as Display fonts. It is an easily readable two side serif high contrast font but the eyes don't get tired while reading.

The Wild West meets Russia and India in this heavy duty display face. Although it's uppercase only, most of the characters vary between the uppercase and lowercase alphabets, so it's easy to give your text a hand-made feel by mixing up your cases. OpenType savvy applications can really exploit the extra features of this font. Engage contextual alternates, and G, C, L and alternate form of E will change when placed before a letter with a crossbar to create some cool effects (see the CK and LE combinations in the poster). There are standard ligatures for ff and FF combinations, and discretionary ligatures for 'and', 'the', 'No', 'Mc' and 'Co'. Engage stylistic alternates for a reversed 3 version of E, and the obligatory backwards R for that faux-Russian effect. Also included in the font is a host of ornaments. This font is perfect for wanted posters, heavy metal band logos, Communist propaganda leaflets and no doubt a load of other things too.

The flower children of Canada Type are at it again. This time we went above and beyond the call of duty and right into the land of reconstruction in order to make this font. When we saw a few letters from an early 1970s film type called Jefferson Aeroplane, we had the sudden urge to bring their beauty to digital life. But since further research revealed no more letters or information, we just had to "wing" the rest of this Aeroplane. Now this Genie is out of the lava lamp, and it's nothing short of groovy. A few symbols and alternates come within the font, so make sure to check out the very full character set. We love this font so much that we couldn't help but play with it for a week.
