This family is very special to me. I started working on it right after my first son was born. I decided to name the typeface "Servus" which means "Hello" in my country. The whole idea of the family symbolizes a child’s growth. It starts with Thin and Narrow weights - just like a newborn baby - then it slowly grows to Black and Wide. As You can guess, my son is quite chubby now! And I can assure You that I put all my love into details. Servus consists of 9 weights which gives us 18 fonts with matching italics. Lights and Bolds, due to their strong personality, are perfect for display uses. At the same time, Regulars create a harmonious structure that provides good legibility in long texts. Servus covers all latin languages. It contains a wide set of numerals, small capitals, fractions, ligatures and other OpenType goodies.

My name is Teruyoshi Matsui. I am a Brush Artist living in Japan. I artistically write the letters of the alphabet with a Japanese brush. I believe I am the only one in the world as a brush artist. I once declared on my blog that I would be a world artist. This is my ultimate goal once my name is recognized. I have created the font “ BrushType Italic”. It is an artistic product of mine. I consider this my best font. I am sure you can agree that it is “cool and beautiful”. I know you will be very proud if you use my font of BrushType Italic. Everyone will be envious of your works. Eksperiment is danish for experiment. Without much guessing or knowledge to danish, you probably already knew that! I like those danish words containing a "k" - is it because my name is spelled with a "k"? I don't know - maybe it's because it kind of represents the danish language, which is full of words with "k"s. Anyway, the reason for the name is that I wanted a font looking like it had gone through tough times, a bad copy machine and perhaps even crumpled paper...but the experiment is that the font is 100% made using digital media. I used my MacBook and my iPad creating this font. I find it quite amusing, that something 100% digital looks like something organic. I've added 5 different versions of each letter, which is really helpful when working with grunge fonts. It looks more natural, when the same letter rarely repeats itself.

The other day, I was thinking how time flies and how my kids grow up so fast. In the blink of an eye, they had turned from babies into almost-teenagers. They're not teenagers yet, but given their tantrums, it does feel like I have three teenagers in the house... ;-) Ogenblik, in Dutch, means: ‘in the blink of an eye’, ‘lightning fast’, or ‘for a brief moment’. It’s similar to the German ‘Augenblick’, which means exactly the same. Ogenblik was made with the same dried out marker pen that helped me create my font Castlerigg. I guess it had more than one extra font in it! Ogenblik is a bit of a grungy, yet quite legible and neat font. Comes with multilingual support.

I am not really a creature of habit, but when I start working on a new font, I make myself a cup of coffee first. I guess you can call that a habit, so I decided to name this font Force Of Habit. This is not a brush font! This is an imitation of brushstrokes, done by pen. But I guess you've already noticed that - the brushstrokes are way too obvious, to have been made by brush. Although being a "fake", the letters leaves you with quite a good impression. Letters were inspired by an old horror movie poster, but is very useful for something less terrifying!

Dress Quote is obviously a wordplay - and I did my best to be funny, coming up with that name. I also did my best to do a funny font. I'll let you be the judge of my success - but personally I am satisfied with my performance in both cases! :) The Regular version is a set of steady, yet kind of rugged letters, while the Outline version is ... well, the same kind og rugged letters in an outlined version! :) Multilingual support is included!

I’m not trying to be sarcastic or ironic. But after looking at fridge magnets, postcards, posters and stickers with clever words about love and happiness, I suddenly found them all cheesy. You may have guessed it by now: I’m not into clever words like those…but I do respect if they brighten someones’s life. This font, however, was made to brighten people’s life by being great as a soft, handmade and organic headline font! I am somewhat of a bargain hunter. Not at all cost, mind you, but I like a discount! Having said that, I guess I am not a true bargain hunter, because I only buy stuff I need; not because it is a bargain. I also refuse to buy fake items or products that are unsustainably produced. Simeon's Handwritten Blackletter is the result of my desire to have my handwritten old English style writing available for my computer. It is a basic Gothic style font with my own touch to the lettering. Simeon's Handwritten Blackletter comes with full punctuation, a character set for most Western European based Latin alphabet languages. Being a decorative font, it works best at larger point sizes.

Numpty is a word of Scottish origin and means ‘someone who, by speech or action, demonstrates a lack of knowledge’. I use this word quite often (as this world, unfortunately, seems to be full of numpties). And guess what? Now you know what it means, you can use it too! Hooray! Numpty is a fat, rounded display font. A little uneven, a little weird, but with enough panache to make your designs stand out.

Fabrice is a font based on my handwriting, which has been reworked to be turned into a font. I write differently with each pen I use, and this font corresponds to my handwriting while using a pen I refill myself with special inks. Bodoni Classic Ultra is my really fat, high contrast extension to my ever expanding Bodoni Classic family. The Script cut is very decorative, the italic cut can be mixed with it to give it a calmer touch.

Cyrillic Latino is a combination of the cyrillic and latin version of my Bodoni-Classic-Text typefaces. The typeface comes in very handy if you want text to look Russian but can be read by everyone. Is it blood, melted ice, water or something slimy? Choose yourself, because Bloody Charm can be used for all purposed that needs something either scary or melting. I've added two versions: Regular and Drips. The Drips versions is (you may have guessed it already!) a bit more drippy than the regular version. Both versions uses contextual alternates, which in this case means that there is 3 different versions of all lowercase letters - and these automatically cycles as you type!

Big Brush is the result of me seeing Brush Script everywhere around me. Toronto signage is full of Brush Script. My last two trips to the West Coast showed me mostly Brush Script. Brush Script must be the most widely overused North American script font of all time. Don't we all know at least one restaurant or bar with its sign made in Brush Script? And aren't you just sick of the weird F, Q and T of Brush Script? Well, out with the old and in with the new. Big Brush was made as a replacement for Brush Script, and then some. While Brush Script has only the single familiar letters we all know, Big Brush comes in two fonts, so you can keep the design fresh the neat and keep them guessing at the same time. Aardvark Dreams… Yes, I guess this is the first font ever to have an aardvark in its name! Aardvark Dreams is a bit of an unusual font. It is didone-ish in style, but the glyphs are slightly warped, giving them an almost liquid appearance. The Vark is a cute font for children’s books, games, posters and artwork. It could also work on psychedelic record-sleeves, but I guess they don’t make ‘em no more. Aardvark Dreams comes with a bunch of ligatures and a whole lotta diacritics!

The grandeur of what was Miami Beach had its golden years peak in the 1940s. One of the grande dame hotels that stood at Collins Avenue and 23rd Street was the Roney Plaza; built in the 1920s and demolished around 1969. An online auction offered a pair of gummed labels provided by the hotel to be used by their guests for shipping souvenir packages back home, thus also giving the hotel a promotional plug. Jeff Levine not only created two typefaces from this hand-lettered label - Old Miami Beach JNL and Old Miami Beach Nights JNL (a solid black version), but painstakingly recreated the look of the label for the promotional flag and banner for the fonts.
