Then I found, that the italic does not look nice with slab serifs, so I did only one italic cut for the normal weight. The light and normal weights and the dominant x-height with its high ascenders make for easy reading of long copy. The heavy and x-light weights are great for elegant headlines. The font is actually not a revival of ‘Avant Garde’—by Herb Lubalin—but it takes its spirit.
