Patricia Pothin-Roesch's Tendria typeface bases its letterforms on the logo for the French “Tendriade” mark. Clearly inspired by writing and hand lettering, Patricia Pothin-Roesch began her work on Tendria in Adobe Illustrator. After a few letters, she went back to designing the old-fashioned way: drawing by hand on layers of tracing paper. Tendria is a sturdy upright script face with a warm, childlike feeling. Duvall is an idealization created from the Edward J. Duvall lettering. Mr. Duvall was a teacher in lettering, who was well known for his book “Modern Sign Painting” in the late 40s and early 50s. Duvall cursive script is presented in five weights, Duvall 1, as a light version, to Duvall 5 as a bold version, and Duvall Style a decorative typeface with Inline, ideal for set in color layers combined with Duvall 5. Duvall is a Script font with low contrast, not intended to be used as a type of reading, but is however well adapted to small sizes because its simple form is easy to read. The handmade title on the cover for the 1939 edition of “A Wand’ring Minstrel” [from Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Mikado”] was rendered with a round nib lettering pen in an Art Deco style. 1920s sheet music for the song "You Can't Get Away From It" provided the hand lettered title which acted as the basis for Nouveau Roundcorner JNL. A square letter form with rounded terminals, this condensed face is perfect for titling, yet has a bit of an informal, casual charm to it.

The 1955 British edition of the sheet music for Frank Sinatra's hit "I'm Walking Behind You" had its title hand lettered in a sans serif design straight out of the Art Deco era. This bold, condensed type style is now available as Top Tune JNL; in both regular and oblique versions.

The simple song title "May I", found on the sheet music from the 1934 Bing Crosby-Carole Lombard film "We're Not Dressing" was hand lettered in a blocky, ultra-bold Art Deco design that foreshadowed the techno look of the 1970s and 1980s. This became the basis for Art Techno JNL.

The cover of the sheet music for 1930's "Walkin' My Baby Back Home" features the title hand lettered in a bold sans serif with the slightest flair of Art Nouveau styling. This design is now available as Evening Walk JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Erratic JNL earns its name from the varying widths and shapes of the hand lettering found on some old Art-Deco era sheet music. Following this unusual pattern throughout the complete typeface, the user finds a mix of traditional Deco type design and an overly wide M, N, W and 8.
