User is a monospaced type family with 30 styles, from Hairline to Bold, divided in Regular, Upright and Stencil, with five weights (Hairline, ExtraLight, Light, Medium and Bold) all with Cameo versions. Complexity and versatility are the keywords for this type family. Despite being a monospaced font, which means there's no kerning, all the glyphs were designed in order to sit comfortably in the 600 points width, a hard task because some glyphs are too narrow ('i' and 'l'), while others are too wide ('m' and 'w'), but they must fit the same width. The desire for keeping a comfortable readability in User was one of the key elements, therefore we designed several ligatures that fit both single and double space width, allowing to maintain a certain idea of proportional design. Brim is inspired by antique woodtype and chromatic type from the 1800s. Its various styles stack together creating a variety of decorative combinations. It became clear that it would make an excellent display typeface, so it was expanded to include all uppercase letters, numbers, European accents and more. Labyrindo is inspired on the classic Labyrinth. The oldest known labyrinth is 3200 years old and is to be found in Greece. The mythological king Minos held the monstrous son of his wife ‘Minotaurus’ prison in a labyrinth. Much later the labyrinth made his appearance in the medieval churches, this time as a pattern on the church floor. During the Italian renaissance the multiple gate labyrinth came in fashion. Paths led trough green hedges in beautiful palace gardens. These hedges where perfectly cut in rectangular shapes. Mainly meant as an aesthetic statement. Besides the origin of the physic labyrinth, it has always been a great source of story-telling and myths. I mention a few personal favourites (film) like, Pan’s Labyrinth (a journey to the underworld), Labyrinth (with David Bowie) and the Shining with Jack Nicholson (where a horrific scene takes place in a labyrinth). Not the most cheerful stories but fascinating and intriguing. A Labyrinth is mind boggling and mysterious but wonderful. I made graphic translation in this typeface.

XKANZ SQ is a blockier, more rigid variant of a previous font: XKANZ. It's a futuristic, robotic, variable display font geared towards cyberpunk poster text, cover text, and futuristic UI. Johnny is the latest addition to the long line of popular psychedelic/hippy/funky art nouveau fonts representing the retro side of the Canada Type library. It is the digitization of a popular 1969 Phil Martin typeface that was known by two different names: Harem and Margit. The film type version had plenty of irregularities and quirks that made it seem like it was done in a hurry. In this digital version the errors have been corrected and the character set expanded to include international characters with built-in alternates, to be on par with what today's layout artists expect from a high quality font. This font saw a lot of use on record sleeves and music posters throughout the pre-disco part of the 1970s, which makes it a veteran of both the psychedelic and funk periods. Bodoni Sans is a new classic built on the foundation of two centuries of history. Fresh and contemporary, while feeling familiar. Stylish and sophisticated, confident and elegant. Bodoni Sans is more than just chopping off the serifs. The classical proportions of the capitals and x-heights were maintained, but the letterforms were rebalanced for use without serifs. Contemporary modifications were made to some widths, as well as an all new Light weight was created. High contrast is the key feature of Bodoni Sans. To maintain this contrast over a wide range of sizes, three optical sizes were drawn: Standard, Display and Text. Contrast adjustments were made for each optical size for optimal performance. The Standard was designed for the mid range of 12 to 60pt, Display for 48pt and above, and Text for 6 to 12pt. Web/Digital use was also considered while developing Bodoni Sans. The fonts were tested as web formats, and examined on a variety of screens, to ensure seamless use in both print and digital applications.

Arlonne Sans Pro was conceived by Sacha Rein between 2015 and 2019 with a comfortable reading experience in mind. It's a humanist sans with neoclassical influences. Arlonne is a comprehensive font family with four weights and matching italics. Some years ago, a good friend and typophile, Gonzalo García Barcha, approached me with the idea of designing a typeface for his editorial project Blacamán Ediciones. He had just came across an hitherto unknown manuscript by Luis Lagarto, a colonial illuminator and scribe, working in Mexico City and Puebla in the late 1500s. The manuscript calligraphy was incredible and stunningly original. It featured three different hands by the scribe, intermingled in the text: a kind of baroque «Roman» roundhand; a very ornate, lively «Italic»; and some sort of irregular, playful, even funny «small caps». All imbued with an eccentric, convoluted zest and vivacious rhythm. Lagarto is the final result of translating these extraordinary hands into a digital type family. Since the manuscript had no numerals, math signs and many other characters now in use, part of the fun of the job was to infer them from the stylistic peculiarities of Luis Lagarto's calligraphy. Lagarto received an Award of Excellence at the Type Directors Club of New York annual competition.

Love story is a display hairline typeface for use in big sizes and short texts. It’s inspired by different kinds of love and specially designed for Valentine’s day. Designed by Luciano Vergara and his wife Guisela Mendoza who has been studying ornaments since 2007 and has done her best for each project. You can see in her dingbats specially Printa and Abel designed for generate patterns. Now she integrated her passion to the ornament in a clean set which includes dingbats, ornaments and patterns. Luciano Vergara has designed very strong fonts with a particular work in the lines study and close to the geometry since 2005, getting a structure style, you can see in his fonts specially Regia and Kahlo. Now he integrated his study of lines, in a hairline font delicate, continuous and beautiful. In this story both designers have been merged their worlds creating a gorgeous product. This is a romantic type story, a love story.

Mosquito Formal, by Éric de Berranger, takes the original jaunty design of Mosquito and dresses it in a tuxedo. The stressed character strokes, simple, straightforward shapes, relatively large x-height, open counters and hint of Peignot are still there, but the cursive strokes and lively terminals have been replaced with traditional designs. The result is a more serious-and more sophisticated typeface. The idea," says Éric de Berranger, "was to assuage the drawing of Mosquito. To 'calm' it; and eliminate its idiosyncrasies while preserving character structure and general appearance." Although still distinctive, as Éric de Berranger puts it, "Mosquito Formal is more to be read than seen, it is more invisible and thus, more readable than my earlier design." He does, however, use both typefaces in his graphic design projects: Mosquito for headlines and in applications where the lively design is appropriate, and Mosquito Formal for those instances that require a quieter more sophisticated look. Delphi grew from a logotype Lily Feinberg produced using Greek-column-inspired letterforms. As that concept expanded to include more and more letters, the typeface had its beginnings. Intertwined, kinetic, and deliberate, Delphi carves itself onto the page and screen, encouraging variation and experimentation. The letterforms’ unique construction and predispostion for experimentation inspired two varying sets: Delphi Dio, comprised of two-line strokes, and Delphi Tria, built of both 2- and 3-line strokes.
