Carefree makes it so simple to elevate a logo or headline text, whether you're wanting something bold or delicate. A narrow, modern Slab Serif. JOSEFOV is directly derived from the sans serif text font ”Hedwig“. Therefore, of course, it pairs best with “Hedwig”. The basic thought was to create a font with heavy rounded serifs in the style of ”Clarendon“ but which hardly reminds one of that particular font. The form principle of rounded serifs is applied whenever possible — for example at the points where the individual strokes of the characters join one another. JOSEFOV seems very technical, very constructed (and truly is). In order to soften up the rigid impression, the serifs are applied at some points contrary to the tradition handed down, as with the upper case A C G K M V W and the lower case a b d h i j k l s t. Historically there is no example of the laterally oriented serifs of capital and small s (S) and C G. On the other hand, the double-sided serifs on the stems of b d h k l appear at the beginning of modern times in the very first serif types from five hundred years ago. The double-sided serifs of A M V W were also customary in the first decades of printing. JOSEVOV is particularly suitable for topics such as nature, folklore, culture, music, nutrition.

Tolyer font is an extra large super family of 50 fonts! In many cases quantity doesn’t mean quality but here we have such a big abundance of contrast, styles, weights and special effects in one place that it actually doesn’t pay attention to the fact this is an all caps family. When it comes to strong headlines, titles, posters, masculine brand names Tolyer type family is probably one of the best choices in sans serif typography. You could easily pick from low to high contrast outlines, uprights and obliques, 3D effects or different artistic textured styles to make your work diverse, expressive and attractive. Tolyer font offers you maximum readability even in poor display conditions like low quality printing or low resolution monitors. In some cases poor print quality could even add more value to the final result, because Tolyer has a lot of potential to be used in difficult conditions. Letterpress and high embossing are one of those print effects that really suit Tolyer best. Use it in high contrast with background environment, higher ink flow, don’t think about the dot gain and you should definitely use a textured paper – this is what Tolyer really likes and deserves. It will thank you for this with authentic look, classic vintage style and strong but attractive presence.

RRollie is a typeface family inspired on the proportions of the Roman capital in the Augusto's age, some of them can be seen in inscriptions of Pompeii; in this particular case, it has taken an inscription from a tomb of the year 15 AD. The subtlety of the serif is hardly insinuates, helping to strut the terminals of the stems. Ascenders and descenders are very short. The thickness variation is presented quite delicate, highlighting the light-dark passage and even the agile counterblocks of the typeface. These fonts can be used in many kind of graphic works by its strong personality, visual impact and readability. Roberto Rollie (1935-2003) was an outstanding professional of Graphic Design, Photography and Visual Artist. Maya Tiles was designed as a set of 62 seamless, endless patterns accompanied by font map(s) and “Idea Book” to get you started on designing your own wallpapers, textiles, stained/etched/privacy glass window films, or even wooden fancy trellises - the choice is yours :) The font features simple, fancy, intricate patterns in three variants (Fill, Outlines and Stencil). - Outlines were designed with an idea of serving as an unobtrusive pattern on its own, or as a playful addition to the Fill pattern. - Fill pattern was designed to give more statement to Outlines, which in some cases may be too subtle for the job you have to be done. - Stencil has the most robust shapes. SGT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB is a typeface inspired by the capital letters on the bass drum in the Beatles' Sgt Pepper album cover. The original lettering was hand painted by fairground artist Joe Ephgrave during March 1967 in an art deco style he called 'futuristic'. The font completes the uppercase, adds a lowercase, and includes a full complement of over 400 characters. SGT PEPPERS OUTLINE and SGT PEPPERS OUTLINE FILL are two fonts with matching spacing and kerning that can be overlapped for creating bicolor/multicolor effects and faux drums. The Outline and Outline Fill fonts do not contain lowercase characters, instead they comprise two weights of outline capitals as painted on the Sgt Pepper drum. The uppercase letters are in the wider style from around the outer edge of the drum, and the lowercase keys deliver the more condensed 'Lonely Hearts' inline style from the middle of the drum. The uppercase Y has been flipped to produce a more conventionally acceptable character with the thicker diagonal arm on the left. However, Joe Ephgrave's reverse Y (with inline) is included in the Outline fonts at the Section keystroke § (Alt-0167 on Windows). A simplified vector image (mono) of the bass drum without lettering is also included within the Outline fonts at the PlusMinus keystroke ± (Alt-0177 on Windows).

Astrum Heart is a very decorative script font using elegant caligraphic handwritten letters, that are all mutually interconnected, creating a unique look & feel of a personalized human handwritting. It’s clean and prefined lines makes Astrum Heart very appealing and modern, although it being very classical in it’s core essence. Capital letters are projected in a way to contain a stylized heart in it’s construction. Heart, as a symbol of love, makes this font unique for writting love letters, Valentine Day postcards, wedding invitations, etc. Idea for the creation of this font had originally came up from the need to create a beautiful design for Saint Valentine’s Day, but none of the existing fonts cut it - so I decided to create a new and unique typeface to fill this need. Letters and other characters are recognizeable by prefined ornaments, incorporated in a very subtle way. Whitespace between capital letters, lower-case letters, numbers and other characters are done in a way to minimize the need for kerning. Font Astrum Heart, besides being a celebration of class and exclusivity, is a very luxurious and elegant handwritten font. Words consisting of lower-case letters have the possibility of being decorated by adding a small heart at the beginning, anywhere between the letters, or at the end of the word. Character set for this font contains all western and central-european latin characters.

Lotter blackletter with Drop caps One fine day I found a vintage book, it called “A treatise by the Dominican friar-writer Marcus von Weida on the Brotherhood of the Holy Rosary”. It was printed in 1515 by Melchior Lotter in Leipzig. The text was illustrated by hand-colored engravings on religious and liturgical themes and beautiful initials I like. Lotter was the last name of a family of German printers, intimately connected with the Reformation. An innovation by the elder Lotter was his use of Roman types for Latin, reserving the Gothic types for German. I'm happy to present to you my new font family. While researching the history of Onitsuka Tiger's branding and graphic design, I came across an odd, yet highly appealing piece of custom lettering on the company's ONICK ski boots from the 1970s. Reminiscent of aspects of the typeface Black-Out by Eli Carrico (released by my type foundry Wordshape), yet vertically compressed with razor-sliced counters and odd stencil element that makes up one of the legs of the "K", the ONICK lettering is a potential source for an intriguing modular font. I immediately thought of Ryoichi Tsunekawa as a potential collaborator to bring this piece of lettering to full-fledged life in the contemporary context. Based in Nagoya, Tsunekawa runs an independent type foundry called Dharma Type, including three specialized foundry sub-labels: Flat-It, devoted to display lettering; Prop-A-Ganda, a series of fonts inspired by and based on retro propaganda posters, movie posters, retail sign lettering & advertisements in the early 20th century; and Holiday Type, a series of decorative and retro scripts for holiday use. The past year has seen a flurry of notice of his work abroad, having been featured in both MyFonts' "Creative Characters" and YouWorkForThem's newsletter. As the work of most Japanese type designers is almost wholly unnoticed abroad, for Tsunekawa to be interviewed by two of the most popular type distribution companies in the world is definitely something beyond the norm. Perhaps it is because he works independently, or perhaps it is due to the charm and friendliness with which his typefaces are infused. Either way, this attention is both welcome and appreciated. Beyond mere charm, Tsunekawa's work is nuanced, detailed, and accessible due to its high level of finish. His fonts stand apart from his contemporaries in Latin typeface design in Japan due to his fascination with pop, vernacular and historical lettering from "non-pure" sources- whereas type designers like Kunihiko Okano and Akira Kobayashi have spent years analyzing the essence of Western letterform construction and unlocking the essence of Latin forms, Tsunekawa views surface and the awkward nature of his sources as being of value, as well. His irreverence for the formal doctrines of history imbue his typeface designs with a rugged inventiveness that would be missed by most- glyphs without source designs are guessed at and approximated, often in a manner wildly divergent from what Western eyes would assume. It is in these moments that I find sheer delight in Tsunekawa’s work and what make me most pleased to invite him aboard Neojaponisme and Onitsuka Tiger’s type development project. His assorted typefaces show an eclecticism in finish and as holistic systems- Tsunekawa's return email to me about the proposed type project showed a digital sketch of how a completed typeface family from the source lettering might look, rendered with an effortlessness and dedication to detail that belies a skilled craftsperson. Further development showed Tsunekawa’s rigor- the typeface in development rapidly featured glyphs ignored by many: a full set of fractions, Eastern European diacritics and accents, superior and inferior numerals, alternate characters, and custom ligatures - all designed with regulated, detailed spacing. A storm has been brewing. It’s Hurricane. A complete redesign of a popular style. New flair and excitement abounds with this fast moving spirited brush script. This updated version of Hurricane was created with high end advertising in mind but can also be used for designs outside of commercial uses— greeting cards and social expression, or even scrap-booking projects. There are three regular styles and a PRO version of the script styles, plus a graphics font to add an extra breeze to your work. Hurricane Regular is straight forward with the more Roman capital forms. The Script version swaps the caps out for the more flourished uppercase. And finally, the Swash version contains many of the alternate letter forms found in the PRO version. Hurricane Pro offers the features of all three of the regular Hurricane versions with added OpenType programming and additional alternate glyphs. The Contextual feature of Hurricane swaps out the regular forms for more flashy characters along with necessary ligatures and alternates that give perfect flow to the words. The Yasmine Mutlaq type family follows the guidelines of the Mutamathil Mutlaq type style. It has one glyph per basic Arabic Unicode character or letter. Each glyph is completely symmetrical around its vertical axis to facilitate bi-directional ordering. This family does not include any required ligatures and does not use glyph substitutions or forming but it does use marks positioning. Text strings composed using types of this family are non-cursive with stand-alone isolated glyphs. Yasmine Mutlaq employs four x-height values, two above and two below the x-axis. Its design uses curves with equally distributed weight. This family includes both Arabic and Arabic-Indic numerals, all required diacritic marks, in addition to all standard English keyboard punctuations and major currency symbols. It is available in regular styles. Also included is an additional font, Yasmine Mutlaq bidi that encodes same glyphs as symbols to facilitate user input from left to right using a Latin keyboard. The fonts in this family support the following scripts: Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Pashtu, Kurdish, Baluchi, Kashmiri, Kazakh, Sindhi, Uyghur, Turkic, and all extended Arabic scripts.

Preto Semi is an experiment. It is an attempt to create a readable type for text point sizes (other than sans-serif and serif). Preto Semi is not a Sans with added serifs or Serif with serifs removed. The use of the serifs is redefined and used for other purpose(s). The serifs became the extension of the stroke, they help to solve the spacing problem of sans-serif types and they use the primary function of serifs – keeping the eye on the baseline and emphasize the horizontal rhythm of the lines of text. Preto Semi is intended for magazines and editorial design, as other members of Preto family. Preto is an extensive type family, which explores the function of serifs on readability and legibility. Preto consist of three subfamilies: Sans, Semi and Serif. Preto is designed for multilingual typesetting. All of the subfamilies have equal gray value but different texture which can be use to differentiate languages. Preto sub-families have two text weights and two bold styles (Regular -> Bold, Medium -> Black). Every weight has a companion Italic style as well.
