Bodoni Classic Swing is another of my decorative additions to Bodoni’s family of typefaces. Bodoni did not design decorative versions. His quest was for purity in book design. He was purely as a printer who had to cut his own fonts because there simply weren't any foundries in those days. I think if Giambattista were alive today he would design many decorative typefaces. A vintage British lettering stencil was the inspiration for Sandwell Stencil JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. This pleasant and condensed stencil font was originally a semi-stencil – many of the characters were made as solid letters ,while the others had a traditional stencil treatment. For the digital version, the stencil treatment was applied to previously solid characters to create a consistency in the overall design.

Normative Lt is a sans serif type family by Green Type, a low cost version of Normative Pro, includes only a Unicode Latin 1252 character set. Normative Lt is a font with wide sphere of application, legible from very small size to very large ones. Can be used both in technical documentation, office work, business communication, as well as in advertising, visual communication, magazines and posters, in branding and packaging.

Novelty songs and their often crazy or extra-long titles were all the rage at the beginning of the 20th century. A piece of sheet music for the 1920 song "When Chu-Ching-San weds Paddy McCann" had the title hand lettered in an unusually bold form of Asian-inspired lettering. This has been recreated digitally as the type font named for the song - Chu Ching San JNL.

It’s cherry season, so I bought 2 kilos of cherries at the local cherry farm. The cherries I bought had been in a cooling cell, so they were quite cold. As I was eating them, the name for this new font popped up! Chilly Cherry is a handmade serif. From Latin aequālis (equal). The case conveying an equality with another noun. Equalis, sets its sights on applied mathematics. Inspired by the hand lettered title on the cover of a mid-1950s comic book [based on the beloved children’s TV host Captain Kangaroo], Treasure House JNL is a casual, playful serif font available in both regular and oblique versions. From 1955 through 1984, the late Bob Keeshan brought the gentle Captain into the living rooms of eager youngsters who were both taught and entertained each weekday morning.

The basic design style for Nouveau Days JNL was inspired by the hand lettering on the sheet music cover for "Linger Longer Letty". This tongue-twisting song title comes from the 1919 musical comedy of the same name. Some of the characters originally had tiny spur serifs, but they were omitted in the digital version to keep the overall design consistent. The font is available in both regular and oblique versions.

ITC Odyssée is the work of French designers Roselyne and Michel Besnard, who were inspired by the digital imagine of type which opened up possibilities for new visual illusions. The serifs of this font recreate the virtual lines formed by optical residue" on TV screens, looking like horizontal serifs trailing off to the right. ITC Odyssée is a clear and legible typeface which features a simplicity and grace in its forms."

Hairline fonts are very clean, shining, elegant and even luxurious. They look great in fashion magazines, in the expansive world of beauty and glory. Messner is an extra-light all-caps face, especially suitable for larger sizes. Simplicity, purity and readability of its classic forms were on the first place in the creation process. Messner was a resource for designing the Kammerlander family and their combination looks very natural.

The opening titles and credits of the 1947 film comedy “The Egg and I” were done in a hand lettered casual sans serif typeface which inspired the digital font Egg Farm JNL; available in both regular and oblique versions. “The Egg and I” introduced audiences to Ma and Pa Kettle as portrayed by Marjorie Main and Percy Kilbride, who went on to do a number of additional films as those characters.

ITC Blaze was designed by Patty King in 1995. It is a typeface which looks as though it were written by hand with a broad tipped pen on rough paper. The pointed ends of the characters and the leaning to the right give the font a dynamic, energetic feel. Blaze shows the influence of the late 1940s and is best suited for headlines and short to middle length texts.

This sans-serif type family of two weights plus matching italics. Influenced by the geometric-style sans serif faces that were popular during the 1920s and 30s, the fonts are based on geometric forms that have been optically corrected for better legibility. Although wood types were at their peak of use during the letterpress era of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, there is a growing revival movement of "boutique" print shops who have embraced the look and texture of this form of printing. More modern in design that many of its counterparts, Pleasantwood JNL is still a nice addition to the wood type library re-drawn digitally by Jeff Levine Fonts.

Horizon was inspired by the style of the lettering used in the original Star Trek TV series. Quite fittingly, this font was used 21 years later in the film Star Trek: Into Darkness. In keeping with the digital experimentation of the 90s, Horizon has a space-age look—with sharp, unexpected angles that were achieved sharply with digital tools. It was designed in 1992 by Bitstream staff designers.

Keetoowah evolved from a just a few letters in a sketch for a sorority t-shirt design. They loved it and kept asking for more of the same. The only solution was to make a font. These characters were made to be broken up, two toned, rotated, merged and jammed together. But, Keetoowah has a serious side. It has a great Southwestern flavor like smokey BBQ and patterned blankets.

I just love biscotti; they’re one of my favourite cookies! I thought they were all rock hard and half-moon shaped, but I found out that there’s a ‘soft’ variety as well, mainly aimed at young children who may have trouble munching on the hard cookies. Soft Biscotti is a handmade, all caps font. It comes with extensive language support and a set of alternates for the lower case letters.

Candy Bits was originally designed at Bitstream as a custom project for a large printer manufacturer. Released in 1997, Candy Bits was designed by Jim Lyles. The typographic characters were fashioned after a well known American candy. The balance of the characters in the font are designed to enhance the 3D illusion by appearing to recede into the page. Soon after its completion, Mr. Lyles joined a local health club.

Chank worked with Josh Eshbach, an intern from Minneapolis College of Art and Design, to create Cocaine as the Chank Font of the Month for November 2000. Inspired by Speedball type designs of the ’20s and ’30s, Cocaine has been redrawn and streamlined for use in the digital age. Curvy and round and relishing in its idiosyncrasies, Cocaine recalls vintage French wine posters and antique sheet music covers.

A popular hobby in the 1950s and 1960s was creating your own wallets, belts and other items from leather do-it-yourself kits. Stamped or carved initials, names or phrases were often added to the leather with special tools and templates - many featuring a Western-styled alphabet with a hand-lettered look. Leathercrafter JNL recreates that same look in a digital font format, complete with the unusual and contrasting letter shapes.

In the MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan type specimen book of 1892 are examples of Lining Gothic Extended, a wide sans serif typeface. A lining font has the numerals aligned with the capital letter height, rather than following the “Old Style” method of smaller figures that could also descend below the baseline. Order Form JNL is the digital version of this design, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

There are two “personalities” in this font. Jacques’ persona comes to life when typing in all lowercase letters. And Gilles’: when using all uppercase. And the best part is Jacques and Gilles were made for each other. “Teja” font was inspired in the lettering styles printed on enamel advertising signs. The enameled iron signs were, from 1880s until the 1950s, amongst the most striking features of streets and railway stations in most towns and villages around the world. “Teja” was designed specially for use in logotypes, advertising and packaging. It is interesting to note the use of free-flowing lettering to perform its own eye-catching.

An informal sans serif typeface carefully cut from the template of Regan and Regan Slab. Smooth curves are combined with simple angles to form a modern, legible font with a charming personality. Regan Alt is ideally suited to wide range of applications including advertising, fashion, retail and the web. Details include 10 weights with italics, 540 characters, 5 variations of numerals, small caps, stylistic alternatives, manually edited kerning and Opentype features.

Chipa has all the advantages of OpenType technology that allows a variety of combinations: Swashes, old style numerals, standard ligatures, contextual alternates, discretional ligatures, word ending and tails. These fonts were specially designed for creating logotypes and packaging design, can also be used in advertising, flyers and posters, for its good legibility and accurate kerning. Chipa support the Central European character set as well as basic Western languages.

Pendleton JNL was created from some scant images found on military machinery housed at the Marine Corps Mechanized Museum at Camp Pendleton, California. The photos were provided by Brian Platzer, a volunteer at the base who specializes in equipment restoration. Having used other stencil fonts by Jeff Levine, Brian thought the design of these hand-crafted markings might make another addition to Jeff's vast library of vintage stencil alphabets.

Sign Production JNL somewhat resembles Sign Kit JNL but there are some noticeable differences. The letters and numbers in Sign Production JNL are bolder, wider and have some slightly different character shapes. The common theme is that both fonts were designed from die-cut letters and numbers found in the Webway Sign Cabinet, manufactured by the Holes-Webway Company of St. Cloud, Minnesota until its demise in the 1980s.

SK Primo is a monumental geometric grotesque created to stand out. An unusual combination of smooth rounded contours and sharp square shapes creates a visual contrast that is noticeable. HU SpecialmovieKR is a retro, wide square typeface, characterized by streamlined, narrow stroke ends such as 'ㄴ,ㅅ,ㅈ'. The first consonants are designed to be large with full modules to improve readability. The grapheme 'ㅇ', which is the face of the font, is in the form of a square in harmony with straight lines and curves, expressing a solid and simple feeling overall. HU SpecialmovieKR includes Korean.

We have created this family as a complement to 1906 French News since the two type families were commonly in use in the same publications, including newspapers, popular books, calendars, almanacs and posters. This font, as its name suggests, was mainly used for titlings and subtitles. Small caps, included in the single file of the TTF and OTF versions, are added as a separate file in the MacTT version.

ZILETTI POP is a font used by Girolamo Ziletti in Venice in mid/late 1500.
