Carnaby Street is a vintage style bold font that pairs strong rectangular framing with softer rounded elements. It has a cool, funky, and groovy vibe, while still retaining a strong sense of linearity and geometry. This lettering style conjures up the retro vibes of the 1960s swinging London scene, or the psychedelic poster art of posters and handbills for the Fillmore Auditorium and Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco in the mid to late '60s. It represents a new take on a classic array of hand lettered stylings that have their roots both in the Art Nouveau Movement and the hippie counterculture movement of the 1960s and early 1970s.

I came across an old book called ‘Studio Handbook Letter And Design For Artists And Advertisers’ by Samuel Welo. Samuel Welo was an American advertising calligrapher, typographer and lettering artist, who was most active during the roaring twenties. Lenox Avenue is my version of a set of letters in that book. It was handmade (just like Welo had done). I only had an ABC/abc to work with, so I designed all the remaining glyphs myself. I changed some of the original (and quite quirky) letters to a more contemporary form. The font is named Lenox Avenue, once home of the famous Savoy Ballroom. Comes with all the bells & whistles.

Big Sur is a six-width slab serif font family with a unique look. At first glance, it is clearly in the tradition of old west style alphabets, with its chunky top and bottom strokes and serifs. But it also features a whimsical vibe in the curvy and pointed flourishes, the wavy baseline, and the swash terminals on many of the glyphs. It's a true standout with unique identifiers, and is bound to grab the eye as something new and different; yet it's traditional enough to establish a solid Western or vintage Americana style. Great for rodeo, county or state fairs, saloons, pubs & taverns, cowboy gear, and even vintage psychedelic posters.

Latex was initially a single multi-script all-cap font commissioned in 2012 by a company we can't name, to market a billion-dollar superhero movie we also can't name. A year later the commission grew to include a shaded variant and a set of DIY-like fonts, with different layering possibilities for dimensional manipulation. Each of the five Latex fonts come with a character set of over 600 glyphs, supporting the vast majority of Latin languages, as well as Cyrillic and Greek alphabets. The goal was to achieve simplicity without sacrificing personality. The generous x-height and the contrast of strokes are increasing as the font gets bolder, resulting in relatively open counters even at the heaviest weight. This makes the font especially suitable for body text, even though the carefully designed characters work well for display purposes. The name Arlonne is derived from the small city of Arlon, a Walloon municipality of Belgium located in and capital of the province of Luxembourg. The freeflowing and quite feminine style of this script appealed to me, but it needed a bit of taming.
