Synthica is the advanced version of a geometrically constructed typeface – designed for a thesis project in summer 2010 in Pforzheim. In the context of electronic music and the profound analysis of its parameters, this typeface is primarly based on a strict modular grid. Additionally, the ascender, descender and the x height had slightly been increased in order to even out a visual difference in size between the glyphs. The name „Synthica“ dervives from a basic principle in electronic sound synthesis. Sinus, triangle and square are some of the basic waveforms in the synthesizers’ oscillator section and were thus used as geometric modules for the grid. The modularity and geometry also derive from different structures of electronic music. The strong emphasis on diagonal lines creates a rhythmic typeface that connotates electronic music patterns with highly recognisable glyphs. The contrast between digital and analog is another basic idea of this typeface: while Synthica Outline has a more synthetic and fragile character, the filled version Synthica Black serves as the analog counterpart.

Georgia was originally designed in 1996 by Matthew Carter and hand-tuned for the screen by Tom Rickner. The Georgia family received a major update in 2011 by Monotype Imaging, The Font Bureau and Matthew Carter. Georgia is the serif companion to the sans serif screen font, Verdana. It was designed specifically to address the challenges of on-screen display with elegant yet sturdy and open forms. If you must have one serif face for reading on a computer, then you've found the best one right here. The original Georgia family included four fonts: regular, italic, bold and bold italic. The new and expanded Georgia Pro family contains 20 fonts in total. The Georgia Pro and Georgia Pro Condensed families each contain 10 fonts: Light, Regular, Semibold, Bold and Black (each with matching italic styles). This is a display version of a stylized sans serif font family that is very high-waisted and sleek called Bergsland Fashion. This four-font set has a Regular and a Black plus the italics. The stroke is only slightly modulated. The letterforms are higher, with a more open aperture, and sprinkled with breaks to add light and sparkle. This an attempt at a readable sans serif for text. It has many OpenType features and 465 characters per font: Caps, lower case, small caps, old style figures, numerators, denominators, accents characters and so on.

Yes, finally. This one took the most time and the most restarting. Years went into imagining what Lust Text should look like and how it should structurally behave in order to truly improve upon a setting that includes any of the Lust typefaces. I approached it as much from the side of the type designer, as I did a potential user. The flow, the warmth, the personality needed to be there, but all of the excess had to be removed responsibly. In the process, and in need of inspiration, I looked backward to historical artifacts and precedent. In each early Lust Text approach, the solution was lackluster and/or vanilla and not actually a ‘Lust’ typeface. The exercise was not in vain though. By exploring past examples, I found my footing drawing for media now and how it might be used later—all the while, producing seamless, elegant curves and restrained indulgence (that sounds almost silly to say, but I like it). The Lust Collection is the culmination of 5 years of exploration and development, and I am very excited to share it with everyone. When the original Lust was first conceived in 2010 and released a year and half later, I had planned for a Script and a Sans to accompany it. The Script was released about a year later, but I paused the Sans. The primary reason was the amount of feedback and requests I was receiving for alternate versions, expansions, and ‘hey, have you considered making?’ and so on. I listen to my customers and what they are needing… and besides, I was stalling with the Sans. Like Optima and other earlier high-contrast sans, they are difficult to deliver responsibly without suffering from ill-conceived excess or timidity. The new Lust Collection aggregates all of that past customer feedback and distills it into 6 separate families, each adhering to the original Lust precept of exercises in indulgence and each based in large part on the original 2010 exemplars produced for Lust. I just hate that it took so long to deliver, but better right, than rushed, I imagine.

Birka is the first typeface I designed from scratch. It took a whole year of my weekend and evening hours and is the typeface that teached me everything I know about type design. It is easy too see that I had Garamond in mind when drawing it. Birka is beautiful" was the comment of the well known Swedish designer Bo Berndal when he first saw it. That comment gave me the courage to design more and more typefaces. In a Danish article about Scandinavian type design, Birka was taken as example of a typical Swedishness in typography. I am not sure what the writer had in mind, but it surely sounded well. Birka has its name from the ancient Viking town Birka, whose remains are found not far away from Stockholm. Birka was released in 1992."

A little-known design by Futura designer Paul Renner gets a long overdue update by Linda Hintz and Toshi Omagari, in this reliable and impactful industrial sans serif. Neue Plak offers more weights and widths than the original 1928 design, extending its use for branding, editorial, logos and UIs. The pair based their updated and extended version on the original Plak wood type, uncovering lost details and incorporating them as alternates – including the choice between open or strikethrough counters. Neue Plak's outwardly stubborn personality is counteracted by unexpected details, which make for an unusual juxtaposition of severe and playful. “It felt like we should pay Paul Renner more tribute,” says Hintz, who spent time researching the typeface in Hamburg's Museum der Arbeit. “The forms themselves are partly quirky, partly really fun, but with a German stiffness that makes for a strange mix.” Neue Plak offers 60 weights, including a new text version that pairs well with the display weights, and allows the design to function in print and digital environments, and for a wide range of uses. I really like peanuts! My family and I often eat an Indonesian snack called Rempeyek, which is a deep fried, battered peanut cracker and I was probably craving one when I made this font. Peanut Crunch is a hand painted display font. It comes with some alternates and a bunch of ligatures for you to play around with.

This idea of "wrong way weights" was originally called French Clarendon by the Americans, Italienne by the French, and American by the Italians. Sounds like nobody wanted to own up to it. When it was revived by ATF in 1933, it was given the name P. T. Barnum. Many variations have appeared. Dime Museum is an old wood type.

Handmade Dropshadow JNL was modeled from lettering found on a vintage silk screened metal sign used for point-of-sale marketing. Before the advent of computers and modern techniques, silk screens were hand cut using material called frisket and knife tools, and the lettering reflected the human inconsistencies of cutting these lettering into the template surface for transfer.

Wood Sans Narrow JNL is based on examples of an extra condensed Hamilton Wood Type. The design was cleaned up a bit to provide more uniform stroke widths, but still retains the nostalgic feel of a tall, narrow type face found on broadsides and posters of the late 1800s. It is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Tall, thin, grid, legible and handmade! What's not to like?! The font was made using a squared paper as a base for the lines. The name of this blackletter font was chosen due to the centennial of the Bauer Foundry, Frankfurt am Mai, in 1937. Ernst Schneidler probably created then the most beautiful of all fraktur fonts. They are the fruit of countless calligraphic drawings and of many years of professional experiences. Zentenar Fraktur became in its time the workhorse among German blackletter fonts. To access all ligatures in both styles, it is recommended to activate Standard and Discretionary Ligatures. The round s can be reached by typing the # key, and the combination N-o-period plus the OT feature Ordinals gives you the Numero sign.

Oh yeah! Gorda is a huge, bold and all-caps typeface. It's rounded style makes sure it's nice and friendly, even though it can be used in (very) large sizes. Here’s another wild and wacky typeface based on handlettering found on Hallmark Studio Cards of the 1950s. All possible letter combinations have been kerned, so you can mix and match upper and lowercase letters to create just the balance you’re looking for. All versions of this font include the Unicode 1250 Central European character set in addition to the standard Unicode 1252 Latin set.

This font, is dedicated to all the Russian and non-Russian Babushkas around the world. This font was created using a flat brush and Chinese ink. After that I scanned all the letters and numbers and created the real font. Designed by Giuseppe Salerno, in the 2011.
