Traiectum is the old Roman name for the city of Utrecht (in The Netherlands). When I started working on this font, I wanted to give it a Latin name and Traiectum sounded good! Traiectum is a hand drawn font with a regal and messy look. It was based on Goudy Old Style, a classic old-style serif typeface created in 1915 by Frederic W. Goudy. Traiectum is a multilingual, all caps font and I am sure you’ll find lots of uses for it. The city it was named after, Utrecht, is actually very nice! You should visit one day!

Vermont is an outline semi slab serif created by British designer Freda Sack. The serifs of Vermont are typical of slab serif fonts, having the same stroke width as the base strokes and forming a right angle to them. The strong figures of this font still manage to seem light and airy and the marked shading makes them seem almost plastic or sculpted. This class of font appeared at the beginning of the 20th century as an advertisement typeface, rose in popularity through the 1950s and phototypesetting in the 1970s. Vermont should be used exclusively in headlines and displays in larger point sizes.

Philip Bouwsma makes use of his extensive calligraphy and type design experience by reaching into his vault and completing one of his unfinished projects from the mid-1990s. The result is Styx, a four-font connected-script family, with rough and smooth variations, each containing two sets of majuscules and plenty of alternates sprinkled throughout the character map. The Styx family comes in all popular font formats, and includes an extended range of language support covering Western and Central/Eastern European languages, Turkish, Baltic, Esperanto and Celtic/Welsh. The OpenType fonts contain both flat and class-based kerning.

BLOGGY designed in 2010 by André Toet. In the series of typefaces that were created by our team, BLOGGY stands out as a rough typeface based on a grid. Within this square grid the typeface is enlarged and reduced in size in order to create a dazzling font. A complete ‘extra alphabet’ was added to the font by cutting the letters diagonally. Main Street is a revival of the old font Soutache, the original version of this decorative alphabet was created in 1873 by Julius Herriet, a type designer active during the period marked by the Western expansion. Main Street with its split serifs and ornate scrollwork reflects the romantic splendor of the old west from fancy garb and Cowboy Saddles to Ice Cream Parlors and painted window signage. Main Street goes one step further by creating a base fill font which can be placed behind the regular Main Street font giving this font more of an inline appearance. Based on the lettering and graphic design of the Beat Generation era, Daddy-O was produced in conjunction with the Whitney Museum of American Art to coincide with the exhibition Beat Culture and the New America: 1950-1965. These way gone fonts and extras both capture and affectionately satirize the graphic design of the era. The Vtg Stencil series of fonts from astype are based on real world stencils. The UK No. 76 design was derived from authentic stencil plates from Great Britain. UK No.76 comes in four flavours – the Regular style and the Alt style with alternate and shorter forms of the letters M, W and the figure eight. Iova Nova is based on Jowa Script, designed by J. Wagner in 1967. The typeface has been redesigned, digitized, completed and expanded as OpenType Pro in the profonts studio. The resdesign includes the modification of the numerals which originally had capheight size. Besides, we complete the character set to cover Western and Eastern Europe including Turkey and Romania. The font contains more than 300 characters. Iova Nova is a young, fresh and casual design.

Alea is based on the drawings of Maria Balle. The floral, organic look of these bastard script initials will play well together with nearly all Didone designs and will give them a special note. Alea works perfectly with the Adana fonts also available from astype. The Opentype features Superior, Inferior & Numerator will activate the filling objects. Use these features on a new layer and choose your color to get up to three color layers.

At first glance, Typewriter Sans JNL seems to look like the pantograph lettering of an engraved sign or the rounded-end lettering from an architect's templates. It might also be mistaken for plastic pin-back lettering used on some bulletin boards. In actuality, the design is based on examples of an electric typewriter ball element with a sans font named "Dual Gothic", suggested for use "in credit reports and other financial applications".

Casablanca is a decorative sans serif font family. It was designed and produced in 1997 by Steve Jackaman (International TypeFounders). Jackaman loosely based the designs on the Carlos Winkow typeface ‘Electra’ from the Spanish foundry, Nacional, circa early 1940’s. Casablanca has a clean, Art Deco, jazz, and/or noir film feel. It sets nicely at any size, and brings an air of bold mystery to the projects it is applied in.

Ivan Bilibin was one of the best artists and designers of the Russian folk art movement of the early 1900s. His posters and his illustrative work are exceptional, and like many of the artists of the period he did a lot of hand lettering in various old-fashioned and modernistic interpretations of traditional Russian folk calligraphy. Our first Bilibin font is based on his lettering from an illustrated folk story by Alexander Pushkin.
