SpeedSwash is a stylised oblique script-fraktur hybrid. That description could should bizarre - lets face it, it does - but the result is actually rather splendid we think. Lovely for poster work where a sense of life and motion is required.

Speedball pen master Ross George presented this face as D-nib Display. Its wide stance and quaint attitude make for some unavoidable whimsy. Both versions of this font support the Latin 1262, Central European 1250, Turkish 1254 and Baltic 1257 codepages.

Lecture Hall JNL is a reworking of Dance Hall JNL. By removing the Art Deco flairs and realigning the horizontal strokes in order to create a more traditional design, the font now takes on the look of a classic headline face.

Issued from the Haddon Foundry in England. Most of their original faces had names beginning with H, like their own name. Some of their types were designed by Phil May, but we cannot guarantee that this is one of them.

The American Typefounders 1893 specimen book included the pattern for this face, originally called Pontiac. Its subtle idiosyncrasies make it warm and inviting. Both versions of this font support the Latin 1252, Central European 1250, Turkish 1254 and Baltic 1257 codepages.

Xahosch uses a calligraphic pen to form a set of letters in which circular elements are based on a bottom-heavy egg shape. A pen-drawn san-serif face, it is available in three weights, each with an italic style.

Lango is a hand drawn face, long and lean with an extended character support and good legibility. It has a casual look without being too informal, and is good for scrapbooking, greeting cards, or wherever a handmade touch is needed.

Philadelphian is a revival of a MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan font from 1867 by the same name. The regular version with shadow outline was the only style that was offered in 1867. We've taken the original design further by creating two additional weights of medium and bold plus plain black versions. The medium and bold weights are unique because only the horizontal strokes increase in thickness while the vertical strokes remain the same in each weight. Philadelphian Nite is the plain black version of this font family, Nite is the casual spelling of the word Night meaning dark or black. In the late 1800's Philadelphian was a very popular typeface which can be seen on many billheads and letterheads through the early 1900's. If you're looking for a western style font that doesn't look like any other then Philadelphian is the right choice. While the name doesn't remind you of the cowboy genre we've kept the original name for historical reasons because this font was so popular in its day. Centennial Script was designed and cut by Hermann Ihlenburg in 1876 (the centennial of American independence, hence the typeface's name) for the MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan foundry in Philadelphia. Ihlenburg was then only 33 years old, and these beautiful forms put him on his way to become the most prolific and innovative deco, ornamental and script typeface designer and punch cutter of the nineteenth century. In trying to be a true homage to the history of the new world, Centennial Script transcends its then-contemporary deco fashion to embrace script elements historically similar to lettering found on maps or political documents of the 18th century. Letters like the p and s extend themselves high and mighty to accentuate words and lines of text in a fancy hand-drawn manner. The dots on the i and j are those of a careful scribe who acknowledges the importance of the document being lettered. The lowercase letters connect with two slight angular motions of the hand, also very carefully and elegantly. Even the ligatures and ending swashes Ihlenburg made for this face were reminiscent of a mapmaker's patient hand, though Ihlenburg's elegant touch in them cannot be mistaken. Although Centennial Script was one of the few Ihlenburg faces to make it to film type technology, the transition was neither credited nor faultless. The film type version was a bit sloppy in the way the connectors were made, so the lowercase needed a lot of manual work to typeset properly. To alleviate such waste of time for the user of this digital version, the connectors were redrawn according to the original metal ones made by Ihlenburg himself, and tested thoroughly in print to ensure the quality of the typeface's flowing cursive nature. This wasn't an easy task, and very time-consuming, since the changing angles on both ends of the connection made it impossible to escape from having to build every lowercase letter with both left and right connectors that would fit with the rest of the letters. This is one typeface that couldn't be revived in any other manner than the way it was originally made, regardless of more than 130 years of technological advances since the face was designed. Centennial Script comes in all popular font formats, and supports most Latin-based languages. Also included is an Alts fonts that contains alternates, ligatures, snap-on swash endings, some ornaments, as well as a complete set of the lowercase without left side connectors, for a more natural combination when following a majuscule, or just in case the user finds it fit to set the copy in a non-connecting script instead of the face's original connected flow. The original sketch of Joker was drawn by Viktor Kharyk in 1978 as experiment on creation type by a method of subtraction. In 2000 the font was digitized, modified and Hebrew, Greek, Georgian, Armenian and Arabi? alphabets and outline style were added. As a display face, Joker allows the creation of decorative compositions, easily combining a vertical and horizontal arrangement of words. Its characters are easy for filling with images. In line the face creates ornamental effect very appropriate for logotype design. The font is good to set small expressive advertising texts also. Joker type family received the third prize at TypeArt 2001 Cyrillic type design competition in Moscow.

Kigara was Elena’s first attempt at designing a text typeface. The result is not exactly a conventional book face. Strongly influenced by handwriting, Kigara is best suited for short texts set at medium to large sizes. However, its open letter shapes and subtle serifs make it a very readable face in smaller sizes as well. Kigara will also make headlines as a modest, light-hearted display typeface. Kigara is named after an African mushroom - hence the mushroom vignettes and African ornaments in the OpenType version and the ‘B’ set. Both the sets also include small caps, alternate figures, special ligatures and other expert glyphs.

Strayhorn is a sans serif development of the popular typeface family, Ellington. Although classified as a sans serif, the Strayhorn font family has markedly flared stems and calligraphic terminal treatment. A fairly condensed face with vigorous letter shapes, Strayhorn makes an eye-catching display face and an economical, legible text type. The contrast between thick and thin strokes is more apparent than in most sans serif designs, resulting in an open, rather striking appearance on the page. Strayhorn is ideal for use in advertising, flyers, labels and packaging. It will also make a refreshing alternative to the more monotone sans serifs used in magazines, periodicals, newsletters etc.

Originally created with cutting in red litho film, as a headlining typeface for Vinyl music magazine. Its geometric structure was very applicable for early type design experiments on the computer. ...in the early 1980s, he (Max Kisman) became the designer of a small, independent music magazine Vinyl. This Amsterdam-based publication was set up very much as a response to the innovative British magazine, The Face. Responding to Neville Brody's radical designs for that magazine, Kisman began to experiment by creating new headline typefaces for each issue... (Emily King. Badiya is designed by Lebanese designer Nadine Chahine as a modern and slightly modulated Naskh. The design has open counters that enable it to be used in quite small sizes.The resulting effect is that of a clear, legible, and modern text face. Badiya is especially suited for print in magazines and corporate communication. It combines well with Frutiger Arabic and Janna as a text face with a matching headline. The Latin companion to Badiya is Syntax which is included also in the font. The font also includes support for Arabic, Persian, and Urdu as well as proportional and tabular numerals for the supported languages.

Wellingborough is a family of six late-Victorian inspired faces, principally for display work and headings but also including a text form suitable for use in ‘feature’ paragraphs and short documents. The regular, small capitals and italic forms provides good clear headings, with a modicum of individualism and flair about them, while the Flourish and capital faces carry the family to rather more elaborate-yet still readily legible- heights. The italic form also works well alone to suggest a sense of flow and movement. The whole family is ideally suited for poster and advertising work, as well as book and record covers and period themed signage.

P22 Victorian is a font set created in conjunction with the Albright-Knox Art Gallery's exhibition of Victorian-era French artist James Tissot. The fonts developed for the P22 Victorian set are based on historic typefaces dating from the late 19th century. Victorian Gothic was based on a type style called ‘Atlanta’, a simple, expanded width, quirky, yet elegant face similar to ‘Copperplate’. Victorian Swash was inspired by the willowy, delicate face ‘Columbian’, which has also been known in recent years as ‘Glorietta’. The P22 version includes ‘snap-on’ flourishes based on the original 'Columbian' ornamental embellishment designs. Victorian Ornaments features over 150 decorative embellishments.

I started to work at the Bernhard Studio in 1952 to 1959 in New York. I helped with some type designs and many other projects, this two tiered signature was added on all of Bernhard’s art that was produced in the past and in his later years. In the 50’s I thought Bernhard’s Gothic face was quite a bit outdated but as you may know it has become one of todays most used faces. His signature is based on his Bernhard Gothic Font. With todays computer technology I have digitized the caps and added lower case glyphs with lower ascenders and other slight changes.

Rosso is a condensed geometric Sans with a retro style, inspired by various typographic styles. It features the Roslyn Gothic structure, which was popularly used for the covers of Philip K. Dick's books in the 1970s. Rosso has 10 variants from Ultra Light to Black with their respective Italics. In addition, it is divided into two Subfamilies, Normal and Alt. The normal one remains faithful to the proportions of Roslyn Gothic and classic geometric fonts, while the Alternative version expands its round shapes, generating a striking and unique rhythm and contrast, classic of Art Deco fonts. In addition, it has alternative glyphs and discretionary ligatures inspired by the work of Herb Lubalin, which add greater possibilities to face any design project. Eclectotype's continuing battle against whitespace continues full cream ahead with Duckie, and fat-bottomed script that packs a whole lotta weight into the softest of punches. The forms feel familiar, like they're straight from funky disco album covers, but this is a 100% original face. Don't let its retro charm dissuade you from taking it for a spin in more contemporary settings; it might just surprise you! Now for the features bit: OpenType features include ligatures, swashes, contextual alternates and stylistic sets. The stylistic sets are 1. swap the script r swap to a normal r, 2. swap the script upper case i to a more familiar seriffed version, 3. the number four changes to an open form, and lastly, 4. loopy ascenders in the lower case close in and lose the hole. You should not use this in all caps settings. Pretty please.
