The interesting hand lettered sans design of Music Nouveau JNL was found as the title of a vintage piece of early 20th Century sheet music for a song written by famed composer Irving Berlin and called "They Were All Out of Step but Jim". Judging by the cover art, it was a novelty song about a soldier.

The May 7, 1936 issue of “The Film Daily” carried an ad for the Will Rogers Memorial Hospital Fund. (In August of 1935 Rogers, along with famed aviator Wiley Post died in a plane crash.) While the fundraising for the hospital was a serious event, Rogers is remembered as a humorist, hence the font’s name of Humorist JNL.

Created by Chank in 1992, Ribjoint was Chank’s first attempt at creating a Egyptian, cursive font on the computer. The main subfamily is TT Nooks—a stylish high-contrast serif with a light touch of self-centeredness. If TT Nooks were a person, it would be an elegant lady with an independent and firm personality. In the original sketches of TT Nooks there were traces of a broad pen, but in the course of further evolution the typeface moved away from this style, retaining only the high contrast of strokes. In addition, in the process of design searches TT Nooks has obtained a touch of geometricity. The serifs in TT Nooks stand out especially visibly thanks to their geometric shape that resembles slippers. Corner C is a part of Corner type family. This subfamily is designed with rounded shapes in the corners. The concept of the typeface Corner is based on variation of corner shapes in font characters, from what is also its name derived. The basis is a bitmap modular principle, to which by simple addition of “the missing pixels” in corners of the characters ( Corner A ) to the shape of diagonal ( Corner B ), curvature (Corner C), or inversion curvature ( Corner D ), three more font variations are created. The basic monolinear bitmap weight is supplemented by two more extreme thicknesses – hairline and fat weight. The character set supports the complete Latin, while the x-height of lowercase is drawn at the same height as in the uppercase characters. Corner is a strong display typeface, which allows you to easily experiment and to combine it with its mutual font variations.

Cyclic is a stylish and modern slab serif in three practical, highly legible weights. The name ‘cyclic’ suits this typeface in several ways. Firstly because I wanted to create an ‘all-round’ typeface (pun intended) that could adapt to most applications, but also, as the dictionary definition explains - “occurring in circles, regularly repeated”. The basis for a lot of the characters did begin with a circle or sections of one; the equally distributed, rounded forms of this font are complemented however by the vertical strokes, and further counter-balanced by angular slab serifs on the remaining glyphs. Curved alternates with a celtic vibe are also included in the fonts and feature on the default slots in the separate Cyclic Uncial set. In summary, the whole Cyclic type family comprises a combined palette of circles and straight lines; something the cubist movement would have been proud of!
