On the very northern edge of South Tucson lies an Old Pueblo institution, Le Caves Bakery, Home of the Vegetable Donut. That’s what they were called when Le Caves opened; now you’d say Vegan Donut, or No Animal Products Used. Radical concept in the Brave New World of 1935. I started with the letters from their sign and extrapolated the rest of the font from those. Deco Donut Fat is extrapolated from Deco Donut. If you want a donut, type a 0 (zero).

Hyperon is a text typeface, which is especially useful for math and physics literature. Its nature is defined by austere and humanist features that show the most in italic. The typeface includes weights from Regular to Black and widths from Condensed to Semi Expanded. What stands out for Hyperon is the extended character set, with added Greek and lots of mathematical signs. Some styles have small caps. The typeface was designed by Natalia Vasilyeva and released by Paratype in 2020.

The main difference between Accord Alt and Accord is in the way curved strokes join with vertical stems in letters such as “bpn”. The Italics are designed at an italic angle of 10 degrees. All the letter forms have been kept similar while designing italic instead changing the form e.g. 'a' remains same double story in italic also instead changing it to single story. The intention is to keep it simple and neutral which helps communicate the corporate sense of professionalism.

Originally, Viktor Solt-Bittner developed Attorney as a custom font for a law firm, hence its name. Trinculo is a cursive font which combines traditional letter forms with ridiculously ornate embellishments and flourishes. It's rather like what an 18th century clerk might have done with his lettering if he was bored to distraction with writing the same old letters again and again. Gothic fraktur inspired design, I wanted to resemble old german calligraphy but making it very geometric, so I used an isometric reticle during sketching. This is a display font, created for BIG sizes, non textual. I recommend it for branding, poster, logos or titles. Its very experimental -- it exists within the limits of legible and illegible reading. I choose the name “Garbancera” because gothic calligraphy has issues that are linked with dark, gloomy, lugubrious things or fear feelings, culturally in Mexico. I related this with death and for mexicans, death is something we celebrate and give us joy and happiness, annoying, the most representative Mexican characters, one of those is “La Calavera Garbancera” or better known as “La Catrina”, a clothes skeleton with only a hat. It was drawn this way to make a critic to all Mexicans at that time, that were poor but they wanted to represent a high lifestyle, “those that where to the bones, but with a French hat with ostrich feathers”. La Catrina was created by José Guadalupe Posada, a Mexican lithographer but also a newspaper illustrator. I think this is a beautiful font that can lead to great results, just use it wisely.

Diaconia Old Style is a new rendition of my workhorse body copy font that I originally designed to use for the body copy of "Printing in a Digital World." I became increasingly upset with the lack of lowercase numbers and true small caps. Diaconia started life as a modification of one of the Dutch Bible fonts I traced. It has changed a lot since then (although I have a hard time telling how much because I have lost the original). The plain and italic work especially well when used in very large sizes as display faces. The other four variants (small caps, heavy, heavy italic, and black) are designed for use in book production. Because I format all my own books, I was able to design fonts that met my needs exactly: lowercase numbers, SMALL CAPS font, Mac Command, Option, and Control symbols, ballot box in the section slot, and several other special characters. DiaconiaPro is the OpenType family of my body copy workhorse. This is the first font family I ever created: classic, elegant, easy to read. 583 characters: small caps, oldstyle figures, numerators, denominators, lining figures, accents and a lot more.
