Eyeballs was designed at Bitstream by designer David Robbins. Its beginnings can be found in Bitstream’s Old Dreadful No. 7, where Mr. Robbins first conceived the capital I. He was later asked by Bitstream to develop the entire character set. The result is a humorous meld of cartoon and typography. A word of caution: Watch how you use it!

Designed at ParaType in 1994 by Tatiana Lyskova. Based on Carola Grotesk of H.Berthold and Bauer type foundries (early 20th century) and Boutique of Haas type foundry (Munchenstein, Switzerland). Plage draws inspiration from the fluid and organic typography of the '60s and '70s. Ideal for branding, poster and packaging designs. Pancetta Pro is a squarish sans-serif typeface with semi-closed aperture and pillow-shaped terminals. The shape of a pillow is furthermore used to enliven the boring horizontal stems which are very frequent in Cyrillic script, and get rid of the right angles. Benderville comes with a solid construction, an ample x-height, an angular edge, and an attitude to match. A sort of rangy slab-serif with a voice all its own -- a voice that seems to holler "Hey! Sorvettero is a sans, layered and unicase typeface inspired by some wood signs at Descansópolis, a neighborhood on Campos do Jordão, a city of Brazil. Cataneo was designed at Bitstream by Richard Lipton and Jacqueline Sakwa and was initially released in 1993. Cataneo is an elegant chancery cursive typeface, inspired by the work of Bernardino Cataneo, a 16th-century Italian writing master. Cataneo offers as companions, typographer sets of swash characters and extensions to round out the family of three weights.

Balboat is a plain calligraphic face with a very small x-height, long descenders, and tall ascenders. Having the appearance of a pen-drawn sans serif, it has four styles: regular, bold, italic, and bold italic. Although Balboat is quite legible, it is condensed and may need to be printed at a larger point size than other typefaces.

The typeface was designed at ParaType (ParaGraph) in 1993 by Tagir Safayev. Based on Placard typeface (Hermes Grotesk) of the Lange type foundry (St.-Petersburg), an adaptation of Hermes Grotesk, of the Woellmer type foundry (Berlin, middle of the 19th century). This sans serif with its old-fashion stability looks well in advertising and display typography.

Who needs counters? Although this typeface is bold as hell, it is still absolutely legible. If You are looking for fat curves, this is may be Your choice! Ten Oldstyle is a four-weight type family from Principal Designer Robert Slimbach at Adobe. He designed it as the Latin component of Ten Mincho, a Japanese typeface by Adobe?s Chief Designer Ryoko Nishizuka. As it began to take the form of a small type family, Robert decided to release Ten Oldstyle on its own as well.

An assortment of antique, hand-punched brass stencils from Australia [used for crate marking and shipping] served at the models for Aussie Stencil JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. The lettering of the original stencil punches had rounded edges to the characters; looking more machine rendered than hand punched into the brass sheets.

Gordis is a letter to display ideal for situations humorous and tender, based on rounded shapes that weigh about their weight. Adlery is a brush typeface designed by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini for display use. It has a handmade feel and it’s optimized for maximum readability at medium sizes. The typeface comes in three styles: Basic, Swash and Blockletter Uppercase and has a double set of lowercase alphabets that alternate in writing, so that no double letters are the same.

ATC Timberline, is an ultra wide-set sans-serif typeface. Telegram is the work of British designer Timothy Donaldson, a casual style influenced by the ball and rod, or atomic, imagery popular during the 1950s. Donaldson called the typeface Telegram because it reminds him of dots and dashes. Telegram is a play alphabet which communicates an almost childlike innocence and is ideal for work directed at younger people.

Ornata G is the seventh of a series of old ornaments that I am trying to save from oblivion. I am completely redesigning the ornaments from scratch. History is always in sight; it is constantly being reconsidered and reformulated in the context of now. We see approaches to art, fashion, textiles, homewares, furnishings … not to mention music, graphics and everything else that culturally enriches our daily lives, revisited and made anew for today.    Address Sans indulges in the spirit and aesthetics of mid-century Modern – Italian industrial design, sleek coffee makers, stylish cars, seductive jazz pressed on vinyl – with a charm and charisma that defies time. It evokes history but is decisively created for today.    Its design, in reality, is rooted in the condensed structure and block modulation of early 1950s German lettering intended for use in street signage, but when we started to work on the various weights and widths, the result was a set of fonts in a style similar to the typographic work developed by Butti and Novarese in the 60s. The multitude of potential applications for Address Sans then became clear.    In a range of 3 widths and 8 weights each, Address Sans includes little verses, true italics, small caps and numerous alternative signs for a total of 48 fonts. The result is a functional typeface that is effortlessly seductive, with geometric features and design details that ooze cool, and take it away from mere reinterpretation towards typographic forms that adapt perfectly for contemporary use.

Fishmonger originated from a commission of two fonts for the corporate identity of a fishmonger shop. When sketching the elementary principles for the lettering, the idea for a modern, extensive font family with a large number of styles was born. The first step consisted of defining the range of widths and weights. Then the master design Medium Regular was completed. The next step was adjusting the Extra Condensed Thin, the Extra Condensed Bold, The Extra Extended Thin and the Extra Extended Bold weights, as they are the vertices of an imaginary square map of the face. This meant that, in order to achieve a harmonious result, the x and y axis needed to be defined. From top to bottom, from the widest to the most condensed cut, the proportions are linear. However, from light to black, the line curves gently, allowing lesser difference between the light cuts, and a dramatic one between the heavier cuts. To ensure the original parameters were respected each position on the vertex was checked against the Medium Regular. After sorting out the ideal set-up, the remaining characters of each of the weights were drawn, and the remaining cuts were interpolated according to the principles above. Fishmonger is a functional, clean design, free of any buoyant, ornamental shapes, almost minimalist. Maybe this is what lends the type family its unique appearance.

Marchioness is a typeface that was built on the same basic structure as Lady Edith. I considered making it a subset of Lady Edith but felt that its overall appearance projected a uniqueness that allowed it to stand on its own. Although still maintaining a definite Art Deco form, it differentiates itself from its parent font by possessing a more opulent, if not regal, construction. The bones may be that of Lady Edith, but the typeface itself is most certainly Marchioness. There is no lower case for Marchioness as it is a decorative font. The Upper case version serves both the upper and lower case keys.
