Forbes consists of one bold weight and is an alphabet in the style of the bold English slab serifs, as made evident by its flexed serifs. This style first made its appearance in the 19th century. It was used at first only on posters but later became available in smaller point sizes and was then be used for titling and headlines. With its robust figures, Forbes should be used exclusively for these applications in middle and large point sizes.

Sequel Rounded is a post-Max Bill font, developed in close cooperation with the Max Bill Georges Vantongerloo foundation in Switzerland. In 1966 and 1967 a series of weird events spooked Point Pleasant, a small town in West Virginia. Townspeople described a creature that looked like a man, with red eyes and moth-like wings, which appeared at several locations around town. The Mothman myth was born. Mothman font is spooky as well. Designed for ParaType in 2007 by Isabella Chaeva. The type is based on Bukvarnaya (TextBook) photocomposing version designed in 1987 by Emma Zakharova. The initial Bukvarnaya for metal composition was created at Polygraphmash in 1958 by Elena Tsaregorodtseva. It was developed for primers and the first level school textbooks. An early sans serif ('Grotesque') with half-closed static letterforms. For use in book and magazine typography, advertising and headlines. Also may be useful as screen font.

I don't know what is it with me and bad copy machines these days...my previous font also had that look, like it was made using a poor copy machine! :) Basic Choice comes in a regular, solid and distressed version - use these versions as they are, or play around and use them as layers. Each letter has 6 different versions, and they automatically cycle as you type. It makes the text look scrambled and random at the same time!

Modesto is a loose-knit family based on a signpainters lettering style popular in the late-19th and early-20th centuries. It evolved from the lettering I used for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus Logo. The Modesto family was not planned. It just happened, a few fonts at a time over about fifteen years. A remixed variation, available in three weights, of the popular Talbot Type geometric sans Kaleko 105 Round . A short font for short people* La Jefa is very, very loosely based on a Christmas card I received years ago from my boss at the time. Jason Uncial, a unicase font, was created by Dutch designer Coen Hofmann. Uncial hand writing began to spread in Europe at the time of the late Roman Empire (200 A.D.). It influenced both the Carolingian Minuscule as well as our present lower case letter forms. Uncial fonts are still very much in use. It is used for headlines, display, titles, certificates, and not surprisingly, very much in Ireland or for anything with a Gaelic/Irish or Celtic touch.

Foundry Form Serif was drawn concurrently as a sans and a serif, with matching capital and x-height proportions for harmonious use. The Foundry Form Serif design has a strong horizontal emphasis, slightly condensed proportions for economic use of space, and open counters ensuring legibility at small sizes. Both families function independently. Foundry Form Serif includes a true italic; the angularity and sharp serifs help to retain maximum clarity, with the contrasting stroke widths adding refinement.

The typeface was designed after seeing a photocopy of some News Gothic text where the ink had faded on the bottom of each character. As character recognition is generally based on the top half of a character, readability was never compromised. Rather like Antique Olive the characters have a top heavy look when viewed straight on, however, as most type is read at an angle with the top further away than the bottom this top heavy look is diminished.

Prushkov is the first typeface that I made. Its name comes from the town I lived in at the time. The design was inspired by both geometric typefaces like Futura, and didone fonts like Bodoni. Its aim (perhaps quite bold) is to blend high contrast with mathematical excellence. Prushkov will work well as a display font, both in uppercase and lowercase. It has a wide array of stylistic alternates for all of the capitals and some lowercase glyphs too.

Galdana font family is a Roman serifs typeface, whose most relevant characteristic is the slanted angle of its true italic, at seventeen degrees. Its design was inspired by one of the most prominent American calligraphers of the last century, the book designer Oscar Ogg. Galdana contains 18 styles: starting from thin to ending in a fat typeface. This family is completed with multilingual support and a set of OpenType features such as stylistic alternates, swashes, and ligatures.

Coliseum Pro is a five-weight compressed spur serif font family. ITF’s original Coliseum family, released in 1992, was designed by Julie Hopwood and Pat Hickson. Steve Jackaman completely redesigned, redrew, and improved the Coliseum family over a two-year period, and two additional lighter weights have emerged: Light and Book. The Pommes font originates from my mid seventies potato punchcuttings at artschool. Since I’m living in a potato republic (NE of the province of Groningen) I got inspired to continue. I prepared this culinary alphabet as a tribute to this wonderful allround vegetable. Belgian and French recipies helped me in selecting and cutting/cooking the 6 styles. The Pommes-Dauphine Ultra Heavy (too much eggs added) can be used as a layer behind the Pommes-Dauphine.

PT Quadrat Grotesk™ was designed for ParaType in 2001 by Vladimir Pavlikov. An expanded sans serif with square letterforms due to what the face was named. Based on the shapes of one of old Russian wooden types. Wooden types were used for placard display composition at large sizes. Their printouts retained wooden texture and traces of handling. These features are reflected in the shapes of Quadrat Grotesk. It is a good typeface for display and advertising typography.

Today has been a busy day. I managed to take the dog for a walk, go for a run, empty the dishwasher, clean the car, vacuum the entire apartment AND make this font! :) The Busy Day font is all about fun and games: it’s playful, whimsical and legible at the same time. I’ve added an Outline version, Inside and the Regular version. They all work well together or as individual fonts - and they all have multilingual support!

At first glance, Else may seem to be similar to many of the Century typefaces, with its prominent figures and sturdy alphabet. But when Robert Norton, of Norton Photosetting Ltd., designed Else in 1982, he added a bit of flair to that basic model. Note the bowl of the g, the splayed legs of the M, the sharply curved G and J, as well as the leading strokes of v and w and both of the graceful ampersands.

Prumo is a new type system, based on a unique skeleton that flows, like a pendulum, from high contrast to low contrast. It’s a sort of typographic journey, from the 18th century typefaces to the 19th century slab serif typefaces, gathering information from the Scotch Roman fonts on its journey. Prumo is a type family with classic proportions that takes advantage of the recent type production technology while looking carefully at the most important historical references.

Gothic 13 is a bold condensed sans serif typeface. Originally designed in small sizes, Gothic 13 is very similar to Modern Gothic Condensed, which was a turn-of-the-20th-century modernization of a popular nineteenth century style. Until Linotype integrated it into their technology, it did not exist in sizes larger than 24 point. The design used for digitization was the 18-point. Gothic 13 is ideal for display work, especially where space is at a premium.

Chift is a quite narrow serif font for both body text and headlines in periodicals, where economy of space is needed. The type family consists of ten faces: five styles of low contrast for body text sizes and five styles of high contrast, including Hairline and Black, for display purposes. One of the main features of the typeface is its professionally-designed Cyrillic, which won one of the special prizes at Modern Cyrillic 2009 competition in Text category.

These four typefaces, Berlinette NB, Lyonette NB, Marseillette NB and Parisette NB, were designed from the same basic shape, a geometric form that avoids strict horizontals and uses more offbeat triangular shapes. Parisette is a fanciful type that is both bouncy and biting. The frivolity and quirk of the narrow width is offset by the razor-sharp, hatchet horizontals, which require protective gloves when type setting. This is a good typeface for enigmatic signs at postmodern student demonstrations.

Tacit is the first typeface to be the creative outcome of a PhD thesis in graphic design. The work's main study had the aim of documenting design processes in an effort to externalise the tacit (experiential) knowledge of graphic designers. Initially the task was only to design several glyphs but the work resulted in a full typeface. Tacit is an elegant sans serif with a distinctive character and is legible at small and large point sizes.
