Later the bank was transformed into the Russian-Asian Bank. After the oil boom in Baku in the 19th century, branches of many banks and new banks were opened in the city. N.Bayev was the architect of the building for the branch of the Northern Bank of St. Petersburg located at Gorchakovskaya 3 in 1903-1905. I did a lot of research on the font and asked a lot of people. However, some did not provide information at all and some said they did not have any information. In the collection of vintage and historic images available online from the Library of Congress is one of the exterior of the Town Talk Diner in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Regrettably, on May 28, 2020, the Town Talk Diner was damaged by vandalism, and subsequently destroyed by a fire that engulfed the building early on the morning of May 29th due to civil unrest following the death of George Floyd. The restaurant first opened in 1946, closed in 2011 and subsequently re-opened under new ownership in 2014 with French cuisine, then from 2016 until its demise as an American bistro. While this was not known at the time of selecting the image for a typographic model, subsequent research on the diner turned up these facts. The large vintage sign above the entrance was in big, bold Art Deco letters with rows and rows of bulbs for illuminating the name at night. Coffee and Danish JNL, modeled from the image of that sign, is available in both regular and oblique versions. Perhaps, in a way, the type design will serve as a bit of historic recognition for a popular eating spot.

Dr. Zira is a chimpanzee psychologist and veterinarian, who specializes in the study of humans, in the novel and subsequent movie series Planet of the Apes. Zira was played in the first three Apes movies by actress Kim Hunter. Unique among the Apes characters, Zira has blue eyes. Zira is the fiancée (later wife) of Cornelius, and both are ultimately responsible to the Minister of Science, Dr. Zaius. Zira's character and role are essentially the same in both the novel and the movies, though some story details differ. Her work in each involves both working with humans under laboratory conditions (e.g. learning and behavioural experiments), and working on them physically (lobotomy and other brain surgeries, vivisection, physical endurance and tolerance experiments, and subsequent autopsies). Zira is an outspoken liberal by nature, deploring war and militancy (and despising the gorillas, who seem to make both a way of life), and eager to seek and develop intelligence anywhere it can be found. Zira literally stands for her principles - or refuses to stand, as the case may be.

Tomato is the digitization and quite elaborate expansion of an early 1970s Franklin Photolettering film type called Viola Flare. This typeface is an obvious child of funk, the audio-visual revolution that swept America and put an end to the art nouveau period we now associate with the hippy era. Funk is of course little more than jazz with a chorus and an emphatic beat. Nevertheless, it became the definition of cool in the 1970s, thanks to blaxploitation movies with excellent soundtracks like Shaft and Superfly. Funk began as a commercial audio experience, then later expanded its signature to cover everything, from design to fashion to the later birth of disco, which is really a further simplification of funk. Funk had very strong and unique typographical elements, particularly a kind of titling with an essentially western, wooden core that suddenly changed and flared in unexpected areas until a very individual brand was achieved. Everything that can be tacked on to the alphabet was used towards that individuality. Things like curls, swirls, swashes, ligatures were always plentiful in funk, sometimes giving the titling a specific gender, sometimes bulging, sometimes speeding, sometimes fading in the distance, sometimes doing nothing but crazily aligning with other design elements, but the result was always a fascinating creature that seemed to invariably want to dance and have fun. Tomato was built in exactly that spirit. The original film type certainly had enough swashes and curls to be an unmistakable funk font in itself, but our further expansion of it cements it and makes it the definite font for the genre. With as many as 12 different possibilities for some letters, the designer's choices for a titling set in Tomato are virtually limitless. The Postscript and True Type versions of Tomato come in five fonts, including two fonts for alternates, one font for ligatures, and one font for swashes. These are split into two affordable packages. The entire family package is also available at an even more affordable price, and includes complimentary Cyrillic, Greek, Turkish, and Central European versions of Tomato. D Sert—based on the Pirata typeface—is inspired by 70s Chilean constructivist design and the political propaganda posters artwork of La Unidad Popular (Chilean political coalition). D Sert is the result of the combination of the Chilean graphic art revival with new trends, such as the handmade movement and super font families. The super family comprises 47 weights and comes with two versions: D Sert and D Sert Alt, plus extras. Diagonal strokes are significantly different between the two versions: diagonals of the Alt version are much more logical than the diagonals of the normal version. Another difference is the bowls of the capitals: in the D Sert version, they slightly project above the cap height, making it a more daring version and bringing it closer to calligraphy; contrarily, in the Alt version, bowls do not project above the cap height, which makes it a more tidy font. This way, the combination of the two versions and extras provides the user with the freedom to create any kind of artwork.

Office Typewriter SVG font is a monospaced typewriter font in two styles: Regular and Underlined, and two weights: Regular and Bold. It is a SVG font in which each glyph is an image (instead of a vector). This means the typewriter texture could be captured in an extremely realistic way. Mellow Serif is a soft and friendly typeface. It looks compelling in large point sizes due to the rounded terminals and calligraphic details. I was inspired to create the Rainier type family during my summer back home in the Pacific Northwest. The concept behind it may be simple - a hand crafted font family - but what it delivers is quite complex! Disruptor's Script is the alter ego of our previous project Gentlemen's Script. Unlike the Gentlemen's Script, the new font is an elegant rebel and defies traditions. The font is painted with a brush pen, which is especially noticeable in the characteristic shabbiness and different thicknesses of the strokes. While the Gentlemen's Script is an embodiment of a classic costume, dress shoes and an expensive watch, Disruptor's Script is a fashionable suit, sneakers, an iWatch and a tattoo that peeks from under the shirt. The font retained the incline, speed and overall sense of dynamics inherent in Gentlemen's Script, but got a bit more chaotic and unpredictable. This is especially noticeable in the newly added shabbiness, elongated extenders, a large number of contextual alternates and different ligatures. For some high-frequency letters (10 for the Latin alphabet and 10 for the Cyrillic alphabet), we painted alternative versions that are substituted in the word instead of the standard characters when following our preceding certain groups of letters. In addition, in the Disruptor's Script you can find functional ligatures, including some of the frequently occurring two- and three-letter combinations. All these solutions dilute the monotonous line of the set, add a bit of unpredictability to the font and a touch of chaos to inscriptions. To fully enjoy usage of the font, we recommend that you always keep the features contextual alternates (calt) and standard ligatures (liga) turned on. If you do not have access to applications that support OpenType features, it does not matter—even without these features you can use and enjoy our font!

All 6 fonts use the characters A - K and a - k to show two planets/stars/moons moving across each other. Nice and simple. There's a different number of points on the stars, or they're different sizes, and some appear to pass left-to-right, and some appear to pass the other way. Just type in ABCDEFGHIJK or abcdefghijk and you'll see. Two fonts have all the characters on the same level, (All-Black and Black+White). The Offset font has the 'sun/moon' with one slightly above the other and in black and white, and Half has them all-black. Partial has them even further separated in 2-tone. NearMiss is a very close shave. Comma, hyphen, and full stop/period give just a single symbol; there's a Space, and that's it.

In 1978 I went to work at Mergenthaler as a letter drawer. Being an inquisitive sort I decided that I should take a stab at this type design 'stuff'. I drew 25 or 30 glyphs before the work found its way to a high shelf in a dark corner of my apartment. Just 23 years later I found the drawings on a different shelf, in a different home, in a different city and decided to finish what I had started. I'm still trying to deal with my predisposition toward procrastination but I've finished the font. The name of the font is the last name of somebody I played softball with before I moved to Beantown. Ronnie Geis was one of the courageous firefighters we lost on September 11th when the WTC collapsed.

Rukou originated as a logo for a fashion designer. The idea was to make a fusion of a geometric typeface with the flavour of childish features. Rukou was inspired by school hand-writing models, but adds very specific and interesting features to it. Rather than focusing on readability, the primary goal was to have a unique type texture. This is the reason why lowercase is disconnected. The disconnected letters opened the possibility to create the special shapes for individual letters. The typefaces consist of two different styles inside one font. You can choose to set your titles in uppercase, or lowercase/titlecase. As each style has a slightly different texture, there is the opportunity to combine them in interesting ways. The uppercase can even be set in small paragraphs

The Killegar family is inspired by one of the great houses of Ireland...Killegar—which is on the grand Estate of Killegar. I lived there for many years. It is a quiet and peaceful place surrounded by lakes and trees and is inspirational in so many ways. All of my creative talents were boosted by this amazing two hundred year old building with all of it's secrets and heritage. Time stood still in Killegar....except for me and my modern day computers, cell phones and fax machines. This twist of fate, with me living both a rural and hi-tech life, living in an environment of the early 18th century, with the friendliest local people on the Earth, played it's part in the origin of the Killegar family of fonts. In 2011, while tutoring an exercise on Slab Serifs, Josema discovered Robert Thorne’s work for Thorowgood. Specifically, he was fascinated by the extraordinary density of the 6-line Egyptian Pica from 1820-21. As a simple exercise, he wanted to test the limits of readability within the context of a contemporary alphabet. Rothwood Ultra is the result of this experiment. As a way of developing the series, he found it interesting to go to the opposite end of the spectrum and discover how to evolve the extra-black Ultra’s DNA into a super lightweight model. The Hairline and Thin styles are her slim sisters. The third challenge has been the creation of the text version. Light, Book, DemiBold and Bold, including italics and Small Caps close the Rothwood cycle for editorial use.
