Sagarana was initially inspired by a Brazilian book cover from 50’s. The name itself combines the words “saga” (as in the English sense of “story”) and “rana,” a Tupi word (Indigenous language) that roughly means “showing similarities”.

In designing a font that had a Mayan or Aztec quality to it without the usual "Mariachi" look, I decided to make it single weight with some open ends and offbeat rounded serifs to give it a more serious feel which will lend itself to other non ethnic uses. I have added a few discretionary ligatures, which also contain old-style numerals, titling caps and small caps. Usage recommendations: Captions, packaging, cards, posters, ads, book jackets, manuals, and menus.

Kabouter (kaːˈbɑu̯.tər) means ‘gnome’ in Dutch. I have no particular love for gnomes (even though I have a font called Garden Gnome…), but this font had a fairytale feeling to it and the name looked good. Kabouter is a happy display font. It is fun, bouncy and quirky. Use it for your book covers, toy-packaging and home made apple sauce labels. Neue Jugend is an art nouveau typeface orientated on letter shapes of original Jugendstil fonts. The shapes are reduced to a straight modern look, so one could say it is the 21st century art nouveau. Neue Jugend supports all latin languages and their is a little ligature to bring P and Y closer together, if wanted. It is an uppercase typeface, so it is suggested to be used in headlines. For example on a poster or a book.

Hangman's Delight is a scratchy, all caps font. The upper case letters come with swirls and curls, but the lower case letters are unadorned. A bit of an unusual font, I admit, but it would look nice on book covers and posters. Comes with some ligatures and stylistic alternates and a whole bunch of diacritics.

QuickType is a typeface I designed for demonstration purposes. I used it to illustrate my first book about type design. It has crooked slab serifs and looks very much like a typewriter font. But in order to make things clear I had to overdo some curves and so QuickType turned out a very distinct typewriter typeface. Since those days I worked on the shapes from time to time, so it got better and I extended it to include several neccessary cuts. Now it is a full fledged very usable font.
