Stripated is an informal funky font mainly for distinctive headlines and posters, or similar display work. There's still all the features you'd expect like Class Kerning and accented characters, ligatures for ffi, ffl and so on, and a few other extras. The four versions are set up as follows: Plain has all the letters and black stripes in the normal vertical alignment; Jumbled One has the lower case letters all jiggled about but the boxes still square and vertical; Jumbled Two has ALL letters, numbers, and virtually all punctuation jumbled up; and Wild has all that and the black boxes going slightly off square as well. There's 3 different Space characters and a few other character variations in Stylistic Alternates (fuller details in the zip).

Cell is a sturdy, geometric typeface with many potential applications. Though it is best suited to display sizes, its construction is simple enough for use in smaller settings. Its octagonal, almost mechanical design is softened by rounded corners. The face is characterized by a single thick stroke in each letter, lending it a unique appearance. It also features an oblique counterpart with several italic-style glyphs. Both members of the family also include small capitals mapped to the Private Use Area. Cell was designed to be at once simple and unique. Its grid-based structure is enhanced by slight adjustments for optical consistency. Glyphs which are normally round instead have 45-degree angles at the corners, sticking to the grid system without losing legibility.

Bitstream Cooper was designed at Bitstream in 1986 by means of adding light, medium, and bold styles, with the corresponding italics, to the existing black ones. Based on Cooper Black, 1919, by Oswald Bruce Cooper, which was firstly released as a hand composition font in 1922 by Barnhart Brothers & Spindler of Chicago and later spread by ATF. Cooper Black is an extra bold face based on Cooper Old Style. Bitstream Cooper is an old style face with rounded serifs and tilted back ovals. For use both in text (normal weights) and in advertising and display typography (heavy weights). Cyrillic version was developed for ParaType in 2000 by Manvel Shmavonyan and based on TM Oswald face of TypeMarket, 1996, by Victoria Grigorenko.

One of the earliest Monotype faces, issued about 1906 in two weights, normal and semibold. Based on Schelter & Giesecke's School Fraktur which was in turn based on type favored by early 16th century printers in Wittenberg. It was the door of the Schlosskirche in Wittenberg on which Luther nailed his 95 theses. For this reason, types similar to Wittenberger Fraktur are particularly associated with Lutheran theology. There are two s versions in the DFR-layout. They enable you to typeset the old way, where the long s with the form like an f is used in the beginning and middle of a syllable or word and the typical round s, also called final s, is used at the end of syllable and end of words.

»Supra« – designed by Gert Wiescher in 2012/13 – is a new sans typeface family of eight weights with matching italics. Supra is influenced by current and past sans typefaces, but has a completely new look. The pleasant flow and warm touch combined with great legibility makes Supra unique. The light and normal weights and the dominant x-height with its high ascenders make for easy reading of long copy. The heavy and x-light weights are great for elegant headlines. A humanistic sans serif The first version of this font was created in 1994 within the framework of the bid placed by the city of Graz to become the location for the Winter Olympics in 2006. Appropriately, its original name was ”Olympia.“ The font is intended to embody classic ideals as well as to meet modern demands. The proportions of Charpentier Sans are directly derived from Roman capitals and the humanistic book-face. The contrast between strokes and thin strokes is based on medieval uncial script. And thus, a modern serif sans was created emphasizing thick and thin strokes together. Thanks to its traditional form language, Charpentier Sans is very legible, adapts to various forms of content and expresses a kind of calmness and certainty. Details resulting from writing with the quill guarantee that the font doesn’t appear too rough and unemotional. Even the tiny, pointed mini serifs contribute to the unmistakable appearance of the font. They create an exciting contrast to the soft flowing forms of the letters and are, to a great extent, conducive to the legibility. Consequently Charpentier Sans always appears with an extremely sharp and clear outline. Charpentier Sans Italique has an even more distinct ductus derived from writing. Especially the rounded forms from a, e, f, g and y reflect the handwritten humanistic cursive. Charpentier Sans is comprised of many ligatures, including discretional ones, plus proportional medieval and capital figures for the normal type as well as disproportional tabular figures with a consistent width. Above and beyond the ”normal“ Latin typeface system, small caps are available as an especially elegant form of distinction.

I recently walked part of the South West Coast Path in the UK. A couple of days in the hike, I came across a small cafe and I decided to have an oat latte (I am lactose intolerant). Since it was early in the morning, the breakfast menu was out and one of the items I noticed was ‘Overnight Oats’. I normally cook my oats with some lactose free milk and water, but apparently you can soak them overnight, add fruit and nuts and eat it like that. I tried it, it’s ok, but I think I prefer the cooked version. Overnight Oats is a bit of an odd font: it is very higgledy piggledy, yet legible and unique. If you want something out of the ordinary, then this may be your font!

Gianluca is a typeface of glyphic serif, or “flare” inspired by Aldo Novarese’s fonts from the 70s, with a fresh and modern touch. It is a type family that can be elegant in its normal version, or very playful, to compose from extensive texts to flashy headlines in books, magazines, labels, posters, branding and more. It has many discretionary ligatures in capital letters (with its diacritics) to play with the text, 5 stylistic sets: among them medieval style or references to Herb Lubalin, and some special letters. AltraTwo is a complete redraw of a family based on a tracing of a clip art font from an old printed book. The AltraTwo family adds italic, black, and black italic. I liked the gentle calligraphic look. Consider it a sans serif with style. This is a typical NuevoDeco OpenType pro font with caps, lowercase, small caps, lining, oldstyle, and small cap figures, numerators, denominators, fractions, swashes, and so on. There aren't many unusal ligatures for this one, though. It does have the Latin 2 character set or what Adobe calls CE, Central European characters. Altra has been my preferred header face for sevral years. it also works very well for body copy. I usually use it for my contrasting tip and quote paragraphs with Bergsland Pro as my normal body copy.

Are you getting bored by the growing number of sans-serif fonts that absolutely lack character? Do clean typography and sleek curves repulse you? Dorriss girls were the dancing troop at the Moulin Rouge. I had the idea for this font while trying to come up with an alternative to beveling. I thought it would be interesting to create this sort of stepped effect as I've never really seen this treatment on a font before. Then my need to create chaos shows up again with Doriss Girls informal. A hand drawn take on the forms. This seemed like it would appear on an old art nouveau poster by the great Toulouse Lautrec, so there you have the genesis of this font. I've been somewhat compelled by the letterforms so I may expand and create a more normal version of this font someday with a range of weights. That would be the bees knees.

The first glyphs of Nougat Script were born in 2010 to honor the birth of my first chubby and charming daughter, Siena. The ongoing project with significant progress was presented at Tipos Latinos, the biennal of Latin America typography where Nougat Script was selected among 70 of the best fonts. After a long pause, the project had a powerful restart at the begining of 2018. In those days, it not only grew in number of signs but in complexity of behavior. There are 4 different types of writing within the same font file accesible via opentype features: Script (base or normal), two glyphic alternatives with well differentiated swashes and finally a small cap version. Nougat Script has a fresh and relaxed lettering attitude combined with the typographic harshness for elegant text compositions.

Bubble Guts is a whimsical typeface with four fonts. It is one of the few of its kind that has both uppercase and lowercase options, allowing the user versatility and legibility at the same time. Zin Serif is a contemporary typeface designed for various situations of typographic usage. Characteristic feature is a large x-height and balance between neutral construction of letters (strictly vertical axis) and dynamic open forms (opened terminals). Another typical feature is a visually narrower connection between stems and strokes. The complete font family consist of three width proportions (Normal, Condensed and Extended). Nosegrind is a bit of a departure from our usual more traditional font offerings. It's based on skate-culture graffiti gleaned from various samples of similar style found on walls in Austin and online. The font includes two character sets, one which is plain and one which is enhanced with outlines. In normal usage the characters should nest, with slight overlap from one character to the next as shown in the sample to the right, but the lower case characters in the font are spaced evenly but not pre-nested, leaving the degree of overlap up to the user - nesting is easily adjusted with the tracking option in programs like Photoshop, Quark or InDesign. Ultimately Nosegrind will be added to our Modern Fonts collection, where it ought to fit in nicely.

Cacao is another one of my "found fonts". I found this one in an old advertising for a French cocoa drink. Since I am a vervent lover of cocoa, I will give you my recipe for a normal coffee mug full of delicious hot cocoa. Mix three heaped teaspoons of sugar with one and a half to two teaspoons of finest cocoa powder. Then add a little cold milk, stir, add a little cold milk, stir, and so on until you have a mushy creamy consistency. Now slowly add - always stirring - boiling hot water til the cup is almost full. This family is a compilation created from a Garamond set in use in Paris circa 1651, but similar to those, eroded and tired, that were in use during centuries to print cheap publications, as well as in Europe than in America, and from a large choice of printed symbols—all specially redrawn—used for alchemical, pharmaceutical and astrological books, covering 1550 to late 1800s period. Each alphabet is doubled by a slightly different one, and a special OTF encoding allows to give an irregular effect with never the same twin letters in a single word. The Normal style is enriched by small caps, and the Italic style by Swashes. A lot of symbols, too, are given twice with differences. This font may be used with our calendar specialized 1689 Almanach.

Bombay is serif type family by ManVsType. It is ideal to use at larger sizes as a display font. The family comes in 5 weights in 2 styles (normal stem height and low stem height). This font is variable in its weight and "connection" heights in the letters a, b, d, h, m, n, p, q, r and u. The typeface has a number of ligature including an R+s ligature that automatically turns into the ₹ (rupee symbol) to solve a major problem in the Indian subcontinent where people don't know how to type it. Bombay is inspired by the colonial version of the city. The city being a melting pot of all kinds of people. Poets, writers, filmmakers enjoyed the city and it quickly became the cultural hub of the entire country.

City Boys Soft is a fashionable contrasted sans-serif that can be used in almost any situation. City Boys has basic, natural and neutral letterforms and skeletons for a wide range of usage. The glyphs are somewhat humanist yet they have vertical stress for modern and sophisticated impression. Slacker is a carefree brush script with soft features, low contrast and well balanced character forms. Fs ornaments are unique modular sets of ornaments that are based on ancient patterns and medieval woodcuts. They work very well on modern layouts as well. What is more You can use them not only as ornaments but also as borders. This complexity gives you a carefully planned tool with high decorative qualities. All this depends only on your imagination! With it you can add a genuine touch of distinction to every sophisticated layout but use them carefully. The basic set is Fs ornament 1 while Fs ornament 2 is a distorted version of it. Fs ornament 3 is a woodcut underlying that could be applied underneath ornaments or without them. The usage is very simple-You type them as you normally type letters but instead you get those great decoration! Easy isn't it?

BAMBOLA, Script put out by EdyType. Almost formal script, that gained a little weight. but she is taking care of that. BAMBOLA, a real doll, wants to be loved, she is trying hard to be popular. Is very conscious of her beauty, but trying not to be a show off. She'll be at ease in any place where normal faces gather, unpretentious, yet with a touch of class. Born to be readable, it’s ideal for packaging headlines and editorial work. Not thick, nor thin, just the exact weight, makes a good pattern at large texts, and reduces with no problems, her voluptuous initials makes it stand out always. A real romantic face, it belongs to the fashion world, where she’s come from. A real hip chick, she’s got what it takes!

Mein Schatz's (in English: Darling) characteristic feature is the availability of ligatures in the expert set. The font offers – among others – the ligatures sh, sp, st, tz and alternatives for f, l and z. The expert set’s majuscules have curved elements in addition, thus allowing designers to put the typeface to highly individualistic use for displays and logos. Another feature of the font are the two different figure systems. Further to the normal table figures, Mein Schatz also offers old style figures, mainly for use in continuous text. Table figures as well as old style figures are available in all four cuts, i.e. regular, bold, italic and bolditalic. Furthermore designers will enjoy the additional curved ornaments. The curved ornaments and ligatures don’t only add a playful character to the typeface but also hence the name.

Circe™ is a geometric sans-serif with some humanist qualities. It consists of seven weights from Thin to Extra Bold in both Normal and Italic styles. Circe, like the Greek goddess it is named after, is capable of metamorphosis. Razom Script is a typeface with deep roots in pointed brush calligraphy that takes advantage of current font technology to go beyond handwriting and reach new limits. A successful blend between printed and handwritten letterforms is visible when comparing upper and lowercase. The weight of the typeface evolve in a way that pushes the limits of a script typeface to suggest new uses. Normally, families are developed in weights, not proportions. Also, having several weights in a script family is rather rare.
