Bold, black and square. But was first drawn as a logotype for the magazine "BUT – Bilder und Texte" (pictures and texts) which was published by an experimentally-oriented non-commercial initiative. In consideration of the unusual dimensions of the magazine (6 x 14 cm / 2,4 x 5,5 inch), I decided to fill as much space as possible with the body of type. This formal idea refers to the meaning of the title by blurring the border between legible letters and abstract shapes. Because of its origin, But is ideal for short messages in headline point size. Despite its blocky shapes, But creates a friendly atmosphere. The details are as playful as the restrictions that are given by the concept allow them to be. Punctuation marks and other special characters contrast the boldness of the design since they are matching the thin parts of upper- and lowercase letters. Cora is a sans serif with an experimental bent, offering a large x-height, some contrast of stroke weight, and capitals inspired by classical lettering. The signs of the Bosnian pyramids The pyramid researcher, Semir Osmanagic, began excavations in 2005 in Visoko, Bosnia, 30 km North from Sarajevo. Mr. Senad Hodocic, the curator at the local museum, pointed out at the pyramidal shape of the Visocica Mountain, which grabbed Osmanagic's attention. It is also suspected that the four adjacent hills, covered by plants and greenery, also hide the pyramids. The main sites of the excavations are called the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon, and the results achieved so far have already proved that those structures are man-made and artificial. The Pyramid of the Sun is bigger and older than the pyramid in Giza, which was built by Pharaoh Cheops 4600 years ago. Gábor Szakács, who went to the site in June 2006 for the first time, found the symbols on the megalithic blocks inside the tunnel of the Pyramid of the Sun, which correspond to the ancient Hungarian runic writings. I have always loved slab serif type and have created Eponymous to fulfil a yearning for a versatile, stylish and contemporary slab face. A key design characteristic is the implementation of scalloped serifs which, to me, imbues the typeface with a distinctive personality. Make use of the Open Type features that are part of Eponymous. For a start, you can implement some stylistic alternates, so, if the main characters don’t quite suit your concept, try activating Stylistic Set 1. There’s also a full set of small caps included. Edgar No. 9 is an original design by Alex Kaczun. Edgar No. 9 is a derivative work based on his Big Boy typeface series. It was designed specifically for display headlines, logotype, branding and similar applications. In 1925, at the request of Barnhart Brothers & Spindler, the foundry he worked for, Oswald Bruce Cooper designed a wide selection of "screamers", oversized exclamation points used to grab attention in display advertising. The foundry rushed the screamers into production, much to Cooper's dismay. Cooper was disappointed with the final form of the screamers– they were designed in assorted weights to match the assorted Cooper series of typefaces, as well as in a variety of other formal solutions- squaredoff, incised, wavy, Tuscan, and rounded. Cooper's working design methodology was to re-draw his projects a number of times in order to refine the formal results. However the screamer project was hastily cut by the head of BB&S's matrix engraving room in fourteen sizes from the initial sketches, causing Cooper to fire off a fiery missive stating, "Everything I draw is bum the first half-dozen times I draw it; the trouble with these is that I drew them only once!" This typeface is the result of researching Cooper's original drawings and series of engraved proofs for the screamers, as well as the original Screamer type specimen. Cooper Screamers have never been available before in digital format.

London-based designer David Quay designed ITC Quay Sans in 1990. One of the precursors to the long run of functionalist European sans serif faces that has been a dominating force in type design since the 1990s, ITC Quay sans is based on the proportions of 19th Century Grotesk faces. Ciseaux was inspired and is dedicated to the art of paper cutting. Early paper cutting artists were often royalty, but it soon became a folk art practiced by commoners whose cutouts decorated their homes. By the seventeenth century it had spread throughout the world. The Japanese called it Mon-kiri, the German's Scherenschnitte and Turkey even boasted a guild devoted to the art form. In Poland the designs were traditionally symmetrical and often used layers of colors to form pictorial collages. When Russian invaders confiscated scissors, villagers were found to cut their intricate designs with sheep shears! The art form later developed into cutting out elaborate designs of nature scenes and people, celebrating special occasions and even decorating legal documents. Bartosh is the American short form for Bartholomew. Although I chose this font name because of its sound and its short conciseness, I also liked the fact that Bartholomew had been one of the 12 apostles who had worked in India and Iran and the idea that his spirit could be the inspiration for my work.Bartosh was designed for display on the screen: the large x-height and the clear, open shapes facilitate readability. As a result, it develops a strong expression of character and makes it ideal for headings or highlighting individual text passages – it is ideal for captions of any kind. In each of the six weights, it unfolds its own and special charm. The extra-bold version is particularly noteworthy because fonts in this stroke width are rare and it is precisely these extreme bolds that give them a special graphic appeal.For all fonts there are matching italics in a well-developed set of 677 characters. In addition, it is possible to change the digits and currency characters from proportional to tabular or OldStyle via the OpenType feature, and small caps are also available in all fonts.

Aeris™ typeface is a contemporary book face created by the American designer Tom Grace. It combines the proportions and rhythm of a sans serif font with the high contrasts and flexed strokes of script faces, while the open counters also ensure optimal legibility. Tom Grace focuses on providing subtle differentiations in his cuts and, as a consequence, this font family has its own individual structure: there are A and B variants of the basic forms regular, italic, bold and bold italic, and a display version for use in titles that also comes in A and B variants. Yakout is an Arabic text face that was developed by Linotype & Machinery in 1956 for hot-metal typesetting. Similar to the typewriter fonts created during this period, it utilises a limited range of letterforms to represent a full Arabic characer set, thus forming a style of type design known as Simplified Arabic. The skilful reshaping of letterforms demanded by the constraints of the original restrictive technology has given Yakout a very dynamic effect, and has helped to produce a design whose overall pattern works particularly well in newspaper setting. Digital technology has enhanced the original design by permitting the introduction of wide characters and some additional letterforms, and by improving the joining of the strong, slightly curved baseline. Yakout is available in two OpenType weights: Yakout Light and Yakout Bold. Both of the fonts include Latin glyphs (from Times Europa Roman and Times Europa Bold, respectively) inside the font files, allowing a single font to set text in both most Western European and Arabic languages. Klatter is a font that is "in your face". It can't be ignored, and draws attention to itself no matter how noisy the environment. For over 30 years, Tomás Vellvé created beautiful graphics and distinctive typefaces in his native homeland of Spain. First drawn as a phototype display design in 1971, Vellvé’s only typeface in digital form is an uncommon solution to the problem of creating a new sans serif design. WEG* font is an experimental type system where legibility isn’t the focus. This project studies how glyphs are constructed and how their ductus can be modified. I explored how far I can move the limits if I don’t worry about the legibility. In Weg, letters are built by a single line that connects them, along with words and paragraphs. When weight decreases, the legibility of the signs increases. This is the first stage. It’s a project in expansion. The set contains uppercase, lining figures and basic punctuation in three weights: Regular, Light and Thin. The current supported languages are Spanish, Guaraní and English. If you need any other language, please let me know. I would like to expand the character set. Second stage project WEG is an experimental in-expansion font family. Here I present to you the second stage. I’m planning the first upgrade for middle 2021. I’m preparing a pattern set for July 2021. Here you can see the first four patterns.
