Abdo Joody is a straight style. This is an OpenType Font supporting Arabic, Persian and Urdu and compatible with the various operation systems and modern software. The combination of square Kufi and modern styles made it a beautiful typeface, appropriate to titles and text, and able to meet the desire of the user in the design of ads and modern designs of various types of audio and visual. Alias Vertical is a sans serif typeface with a vertical cut-off point for letter endings. The vertical cut-offs bend round characters (b, c, o, etc) into a squarish, high-shouldered shape, suggesting Roger Excoffon’s Antique Olive. In mid-weights, the typeface mixes Antique Olive with typefaces such as Gill or Johnston, for example the shape of the t, the l borrowing Johnston’s flick. Vertical has the same minimal difference in weight between verticals and horizontals as Gill and Johnston, and the same sharp connection point where curves meet straight lines. Like Antique Olive, Vertical has a narrow connection point here, adding contrast and definition. The overall effect feels austere at lighter weights and strident and graphic at bolder weights, and sharp and incised throughout. In the Bold and Black weights, the squarish and top heavy shape of Antique Olive is most noticeable. For example the wide uppercase, with the B having almost-even width between top and bottom curves, and the almost-overhang of the top curve of the G. But Vertical does not have as extreme an aesthetic or square shape as Antique Olive. As well as its wide design, the upper case is given extra authority by being a slightly heavier weight than the lower case. This is a device borrowed from Gill, and other ‘old’ typefaces, where the upper case is presented as a titling design. Modern sensibilities are more focussed on an even colour between upper and lower case. Vertical was originally intended as a sister typeface to Ano, like AnoAngular or AnoStencil. Vertical developed into a similar but separate design. Ano was designed for use in Another Man — in its modular, circle-base design, and the way there aren’t the amendments usually made in bolder weights to ensure letter clarity. This is for layouts where different weights are used together in different sizes so that the overall letter weight is the same, a feature of the magazine. Where Ano is simple and graphic, Vertical has nuance and texture. It is a pragmatic, utility design. In the balance between graphic and typographic, its focus is the latter.

This industrial-strength titling face takes its design cues from Hans Eduard Meier's Syntax Antigua. AriergardRondo is supplemental to Ariergard by the same author. It differs with sharp geometrical letterforms and with circular shapes of round letters. The face includes antique Cyrillic letter shapes: N has diagonal stroke, uppercase Y and Ч are equilateral. Both lc г and т have ascenders. For use in advertising and display typography.

Even the original founder, Barnhart Bros. & Spindler, thought this was a freaky font, and indeed they called it "Freak" when they introduced it in 1889. It was reintroduced in 1925 under the somewhat more elegant name of "Bamboo," and is one of the prizes that the collectors of antique metal types seek.

Antique X Condensed is a condensed slab serif font found with the pages of a Rob Roy Kelly book of wood type designs. It was introduced around 1840 by Wells and Webb, and the example served as the model for General Merchandise JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

This is a revival font of a sixteenth century typeface. I kept this font as close as possible to the original letters, including the imperfections and irregularities, to preserve the look of antiquity. Some of the letters of the original sample were missing and had to be created from the available letters.

With its straight and clean face Hybi10 Metal can be a quite normal antique font family. But the alternates with different versions of spikes at the uppercase letters gives it an additional use. Decide for your own, how to use it. The styles with real capitals widens the range of use too.

Typical of early 1800s newsprint type, Americanus and Americanus Italics have three historically accurate ornaments and discretionary OpenType features for commonly used ligatures like ct and st. Maine is a modernized book antiqua consisting of six styles and matching italics. Maine's cuts are from Light to Extrabold, of which Regular and Slightly Bolder Book are especially suitable for longer texts. Thanks to its clear features and high x-height, Maine creates a beautiful and legible body text. Maine gives a professional, no-nonsense impression and it’s best used in editorial, books, magazines and everywhere where you can use many different styles and sizes of the same typeface. Sierra is an antiqua with a high x-height and generous, open counters. Many curves of the letters are almost right angles, which was particularly suited to the Digiset machines from Dr. Ing. Rudolf Hell, Kiel. The forms of Sierra with their flowing stroke contrast and half serifs have a calligraphic touch, which is especially highlighted in the italic weights. This is a graceful text type and its bold weights look almost like woodcuts. Sierra is an excellent choice for both texts and headlines.

A condensed, light face spurred serif alphabet was shown on an antique catalog page from Spon & Chamberlain Publishers as “French”. The catalog likely sold tools and dies to stonecutters for making inscriptions in marble, granite and so forth. This elegant design is available digitally as Nouveau Thin JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

Reminicent of mid-19th century antique type and Victorian cast-iron signage, Coldharbour Gothic lovingly preserves all the eroded and rusted textures in digital form. Characters have been selected to have cleaner and rougher counterparts - by flipping between cases, the user can customise the result and achieve the degree of decay or preservation they desire.

“Grendel Regular” Evolved out of a hand lettering piece I designed for a record album (Royal Crescent Mob). Inspired by old gothic forms, my intention was to create a playful letter form that could be used in an antique as well as a modern context such as food product packaging or fun video projects, etc.

Wolfram is a bold display font based on an Art Nouveau type design from Germany. It features very thick letter forms with gnarled edges simulating antique printing, though the letter forms are stylish and rather modern looking. It's a striking font - excellent for buttons and other places you want to provide some strong emphasis.

The antique sheet music for the 1915 song "A Girl in Your Arms is Worth Two in Your Dreams" had its title hand lettered in a Roman typeface that reflected ever so slightly the Art Nouveau influences of the time. This design is now available as Romance Roman JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

The sinuous, organic forms of Bing first came into being on a poster for a Smithsonian Institution exhibit on Siegfried Bing, a German art dealer in Paris who figured prominently in the development of Art Nouveau towards the end of the nineteenth century. Inspired by the natural forms of Antonio Gaudi, and the Paris Metro stations of Hector Guimard, Bing can be used effectively in the modernist style of Art Nouveau and is equally at home in the 1960s psychedelic rejuvenation of that genre.

One of Jeff Levine's friends kept requesting that he name a font after her, and he finally obliged with Rachelle JNL. The font gets its inspiration from the antique wood type version of the popular font most often known as a Latin typeface - complete with spur serifs and all of the usual quirks of wooden type.

An old wood type we picked up in London from the Fredrick Ullmer Company. It's not marked, and we've never seen it in a catalog, so we don't know who made it. We like it for antique-looking western posters and playbills. We added the lowercase. We have seen it used on British music hall bills.

Hierra is a reinterpretation or redraw letter design of a font that appears in the collection of fonts of Dan X. Solo. Strong German flavor this is a letter of rough edges and a special blackness that recalls ancient typefaces Art & Crafts. Hierra is also presented in the Rough version which increases their antique woodtype appearance.

An image of an antique metal marking stencil [circa late 1890s or early 1900s] reading “Folck’s Roller Mills #196 New Surprise manufactured by Wolfe Brothers, Cumberland, MD” had the words “New Surprise” rendered in a Western/Victorian typeface. Those letters served as the model for Old Trail JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Roundlane is a font inspired by retro badges antique labels, and includes all-caps, multilingual support, alternates signs, numbers & punctuation. It works well for album covers, video tittles, stickers, clothing brand names, t-shirt designs, badges designs, banner, flyer and more. Bublik (one weight) belongs to a mixed stylistic group. It combines features of sans serif and serif typefaces. Some letterforms were inspired by antique Slavic typefaces and scripts of XV-XVIII centuries, especially by skoropis' (handwriting). The type has a fresh and original look. Bublik was awarded for Excellence in Typographic Design in TDC2 2005 Type Contest.

This curious little gem is patterned after a typeface named "Bloomsbury", released by P. M. Shanks & Sons, Ltd. of London in the 1920s. Its gentle curves and somewhat quirky construction combine to create a warm and friendly, if slightly offbeat, antique charm. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

Tumbletype offers two faces with a fun antique look. This is a rough and tumble Roman face with a hand-cast and much-used look, ideal for recreating early printed documents.
