Like many of Jim Parkinson's alphabets, Pueblo began as poster lettering. It shows a range of influences: turn-of-the-century sign painting, old Speedball lettering books, and a touch of art nouveau. While developing Pueblo, Parkinson debated whether to make the ends of the serifs rounded or square. Rounded looked more like the work of a Speedball lettering pen, but squared stroke endings made the letters more legible at small sizes. The finished design sports serifs that are just slightly rounded. According to Parkinson, the design feature is “enough to be noticed at large sizes, while going virtually unnoticed at smaller point sizes,” adding to the versatility of this distinctive typeface.

Alterglam is one of my all time favorite fonts, although I didn't think so at first. The font appeared as a modification of my other default font. But over time, the font turned into an independent work. Moreover, the font began to live its own life and constantly demanded attention. So at the same time the Alterglam font is the most thoughtful and polished font in my collection. It is my pleasure to present this wonderful font set for exquisite designs. In the set there are 20 font sizes, which provides a rich typography. If you need a strict, but at the same time artistic font, Alterglam is the font of your choice.

Bureau Grot is now accepted as the essence of tooth and character in an English 19th-century sans. The current family was first developed by David Berlow in 1989 from original specimens of the grotesques released by Stephenson Blake in Sheffield. These met with immediate success at the Tribune Companies and Newsweek, who had commissioned custom versions at the behest of Roger Black. Further weights were designed by Berlow for the launches of Entertainment Weekly and the Madrid daily El Sol, bringing the total to twelve styles by 1993. Jill Pichotta, Christian Schwartz, and Richard Lipton expanded the styles further, at which point the family name was shortened from Bureau Grotesque to Bureau Grot; FB 1989–2006

It's time for a party! A party with monkeys, or a party AS monkeys! :) The danish term "Festabe" is a partyanimal, and definitely in a positive way! And that's the spirit of this font! It has that happy attitude, that could boost your designs in a happy and positive way. Besides legibility, the font is superlegible, even at very small sizes. But try looking at the letters at a LARGE size, and you will notice the smoothness of each letter! To ensure the letters don't get too alike, I've added several (slightly) different versions of each letter. In fact, every letter has 5 different versions, and these automatically cycles as you type!

It all started with a simple idea back in 1998: do a digital version of a "lost" 70's typeface, and make up the missing letters that were not present in the only available example Jeff Levine had to work with. Jeff wasn't yet doing his own digital font creation, so he hooked up with Brad Nelson who owns a small foundry called Brain Eaters Fonts. Together, they collaborated on "Action Is"- a freeware font named after the source of the type example. This was a title page for a commemorative photo album of images from the 60's TV music show "Where the Action Is", formerly hosted by Jeff's employer at the time, singer-writer-producer Steve Alaimo. The free font took off like a rocket, being released just at the peak of the 60’s/70’s retro craze in the late 1990’s, and it was EVERYWHERE! It showed up on TV shows, packaging and web design -- and was even spotted on signage used on the side of a major amusement resort’s retro-themed hotel. From that point on, Jeff kept getting requests for a version with a lower case. Although they shared the copyright in the freeware version, Brad Nelson gave Jeff his blessing to re-work and take Action Is into the realm of commercial type. Newly improved and re-released as Groovy Happening JNL, it became one of Jeff's better selling type designs. A simplified, yet similar font was issued called Groovy Summer JNL. Now, after about a decade, Jeff had decided to clean up the 3-D (drop shadow) version that was originally freeware with many minute design flaws and re-release it commercially. Groovy 3D Caps JNL is an all-caps, limited character set font which ties in well with the previous releases, yet retains itís 1960s-1970s era charm. The font flag art is courtesy of Barbara D. MB NOIR is a 4 weight with italics font family that visually has different layers of style, at first glance its a modern clean geometry based face with some nice retro touches, it also has hints of the vintage about it, with a nod to the art deco style, with alternates and ligatures it gives a lot of scope for its uses and works very well at large and small sizes.

Temporal is one in a series of fonts designed for use in creating replica vintage newspapers. It is inspired by the nameplates of major metropolitan newspapers from the 1920s. Its rough character is apparent at headline sizes, and it remains nicely legible at small sizes. In addition to a complete international character set, it contains east and west coast variations for some letters, along with extra ligatures traditional for blackletter typesetting.

Charriot Deluxe was released in early 2006 at deviantArt.com - where it received a Daily Deviation frontpage feature - and daFont.com. It has already been downloaded over 20.000 times and now it's your turn to try this sexy pixelfont, absolutely free of charge! Charriot Deluxe has all letters, numbers, punctuation and (currency) symbols to suit your needs and is best used at (any multiple) of size 10pt without anti-aliasing.

This typeface is patterned after the lettering produced by the Marsh Stencil Making Machine, which was an indispensable part of industrial shipping departments in the mid-twentieth century. The font is unicase, but includes a “this side up” pointing hand at the section mark position, and a recycle symbol at the German double-s position. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

Gillies Gothic font was originally designed by William S. Gillies for Bauer'sche Schriftgiesserei. The Extra Bold Weight was designed by Freda Sack at Letraset Design Studio and later the Extra Bold Shaded was designed by Phillip Kelly at Letraset. The extravagant capitals should be used as initials with the more reserved lowercase, and the lowercase should be set closely, overlapping where possible, to reproduce the look of true handwriting.

oook is a sans serif variable font designed to be used at very low size but it works with great personality also as display font. Uppercases and lowercase heights ratio is designed to improve readability at very very small texts. A feature that can’t be ignored in the smartphone era. With its wide eyes on letters and numbers you’ll be surprised by the improved readability of Excel or LibreOffice spreadsheets.

Tarweed is based on a Gothic Tuscan style wood type. Its floral decorative stem endings are similar to the buds of the pungent Tarweed flower found at elevation in the Rockies. Useful for any 19th century-looking typographic design Tarweed’s style can be useful for flower shops, billiard halls, music venues, restaurants and more. Expertly crafted to be used at large sizes these fonts also work well in digital applications.

Comenia was developed as typographic system for use on all levels of schools and universities. It introduces new aesthetic standards aimed at improving reading and writing skills and the perception of texts for pupils, students, teachers, office and IT staff at schools. Flood was designed by Joachim M�ller-Lanc� and is not just another handwritten face. At smaller point sizes it exhibits the natural, dynamic, and spontaneous flow of felt tip marker writing. Shortly after the preparation of the original Century, the two Bentons (father Linn Boyd and son Morris Fuller) prepared a wider version for De Vinne’s press and called it Century Broadface. In 1900 ATF released the design for general use as Century Expanded, one of the most popular and effective of typefaces, to this day the text face of the New York Daily News.

The ATF syndicate released the inspiration for this quaint charmer in its 1884-1885 series of specimen books under its current name. Its warmth and unassuming naivete make it perfect for headlines seeking to evoke simpler times. Both versions of this font include the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets, along with localization for Lithuanian, Moldovan, Romanian and Turkish.

Titling Gothic FB is an immense series of nearly fifty styles inspired by that century-old favorite ATF Railroad Gothic. Led by the Los Angeles Times and Gentleman’s Quarterly, U.S. publications are using David Berlow’s series to unify the structure of headlines from its wide spectrum of options. Titling Gothic FB started as a relative of Berlow’s Rhode family, but took its own direction; FB 2005

Morris Fuller Benton’s Eagle, designed for ATF in 1934, which did yeoman-like duty on many WPA posters of the time. This version, unicase as was the original, has been designed to set tight, so that it creates dense and commanding headlines. All versions of this font include the Unicode 1250 Central European character set in addition to the standard Unicode 1252 Latin set.

Ad Lib designed by Freeman Craw for the American Type Founders (ATF) in 1961. A bold Grotesque with irregular rectangular counters in round characters. This type was designed by cutting the letter images out and thus has some wood-cut character. Some lower case characters have slight inclination. Initially numerous alternative characters were provided. Unusual shapes make this typeface useful for advertising and display work.

This is an American face designed by Lucian Bernhard for ATF in 1929. An extra light face with tall ascenders and stylized bars that extend off to the left. The lower-case sits on the baseline and the much-taller-than-normal capitals have an imaginary baseline that sits about two-thirds of the distance from the real baseline to the bottom of the EM.

This digitally remastered high density lettering has been bitmapped out for you by Comicraft's Eric Eng Wong. Those of you harddriving through cyberspace on the information superhighway had better zap your prams and reboot your hard disk before you're dragged into your system folder while OVERBYTE makes a major withdrawal from your atm. Do not be fooled by the name, there's nothing goofy about this typeface.

Goudy Type was designed by Frederic Goudy for ATF in 1916. He endeavored to create a lively design with some brush-lettering qualities. In his words, he believed he was still attempting to ‘find himself’ as a designer. Thirty years later he was shown the design and could hardly recollect its creation. Steve Matteson has digitized Goudy Type to preserve its place in typographic history.
