Elemental is a font created in 1997 and launched in 2001. It is a Sans Serif of humanist type and its principal characteristic is a hybrid between different form of calligraphic outlines. In 2010 it was redesigned for Chile’s bicentenary in Opentype version and an improved italic. It is offered in eight weights: Light, Regular, Bold and Extrabold and small capitals for each one of them.

Bague Round is a soft contemporary geometric typeface which blends distinct minimalist characteristics with mainstream details. I created CemeteryWalk in 2018 to illustrate a program for a local cemetery walk. CemeteryWalk places letters on pictures of gravestones. In 2022 I expanded the family by placing three different sets of letters on the gravestones. Each of the four different sets of letters on gravestones has two styles, one with black letters on white gravestones and the other with white letters on black markers (the bold style). The bold style can be placed beneath the plain style to add color or texture. All eight styles are caps only, with the lower-case letters having different shapes for the tombstones but the same letters as in the upper case. There is only one set of accented characters and it is where the upper-case letters are found. Each also has an alternate set of characters that are somewhat similar in appearance and it can be accessed using the OpenType feature of stylistic sets. A final typeface in the family is a picture font of items that may be found on old tombstones.

Sam Suliman is a condensed display face supplied in three weights – Regular, Medium and Bold – plus a set of handy italics (obliques). All six fonts are included in the value family pack. The fonts are inspired by lowercase lettering on a Sarah Vaughan album cover designed by Sam Suliman in 1962, a style which contrasts sharp tight outer corners with soft rounded counters. The letters were perhaps influenced by a Solotype font called Herald Square, but without that font’s aversion to diagonals, and adding distinctive perky ascenders/descenders on the lowercase r, a, u, g and n. The Sam Suliman fonts also add the nubs to d, m, p, and q. Suliman was born in Manchester, England in 1927. After working for McCann Erikson in London, he moved to New York where he took on freelance work designing album covers, particularly celebrated are his striking minimalist designs for jazz records. He moved back to England in the early 1960s, designing many book jackets, film titles and fabrics, also working in Spain and India before settling in Oxford in the 1980s.

RF Marshall was inspired by an 1883 tombstone, tucked away in a pioneer cemetery. The 4-sided marker is sparsely adorned with homespun carvings of a handprint, two tulip poplar leaves, and these words: "RF Marshall died 1883 Aged 72 years." The font faithfully reproduces the stone's hand-carved lettering and artwork, as well as artwork from other 18th and 19th century American headstones. Fazeta Sans is a perfect companion to serif typeface Fazeta. Two light weights were added, so the complete typeface consist of 14 fonts (7 weights + matching italics). The fine gradation lets you choose perfect weight for any type of project. Every font have 1140 glyphs – just like the serif version and contains the same features, so use and combining of whole typeface is very comfortable. Also fixed kerning allows better comfort for eyes by reading and shortens the length of the text. I tried to preserve sharp and cold impression from serif version, but some straight lines had to be curved due to the natural limitation of sans typefaces (for example the upper arch of “f” is shaped more smooth). However it keeps extremely open form. A little playfulness was left at the end of letters “k, K, and R”, but if you want, this can be eliminated by using a rigorous SS01 feature. Serifs were here transformed into a small yaw from main stroke and so enlive the monotony of sans kind of types. Also slight cutting the top of the letters helping to surprisingly vivid final impression.
