Thirty years after its first appearance, Jovica Veljović has produced ITC New Veljovic Pro, a completely revised edition of his first typeface, ITC Veljovic (1984). Prof. Veljović has tapped into all the experience he has garnered over the past decades; by carefully adjusting the proportions of the characters he has provided the new typeface with a more harmonious presence. The serifs have been subtly curtailed and the letters made slightly more condensed. Some new features of ITC New Veljovic are the double-story “g” with its completely closed loop and the more open forms of the “c” and “e”. In the italic variants, the latter is much rounder. Thanks to Veljović’s outstanding work, the optimized ITC New Veljovic can now be used in all contemporary applications. The new Condensed style saves considerable space when it comes to setting longer texts. The Display versions show off the striking, crystal-clear shapes of the design at their best in larger point sizes.

Gandur is a display textura in three weights, split into two families: Alte — the German word for old — and New . Gandur was inspired by other geometric texturas, specially Max Bittrof’s Element (1933). The design began by adhering to a strict hexagonal grid, but during its development, slowly moved from a purely geometric to a more pen-based design (this is especially true in the heaviest weights). The differences between Alte and New are essentially morphological, with reflections in the character set and OpenType features. Gandur New has a more humanistic, contemporary structure and is more ‘romanized’ then Alte. Gandur New also features small capitals. Gandur Alte, on the other hand, remains truer to historical forms, most notably: S s X x Z z. Gandur Alte also features the long-s, which can be accessed via a Stylistic Set or the glyph palette. (As is historically accurate, a short-s will be used at the end of words automatically when the historical Stylistic Set has been activated).

WAVE is characterized by curved lines and intricate details. Each character was individually made in Illustrator and Type Tool using my original illustrations. Wave is a decorative font best used for titles or short bursts of texts in large point settings. The typeface is based on the uppercase letterforms, but I have also created lowercase letters, numbers, and glyphs. The motion lines used in the making of Wave mirror an art deco-style. Inspired by an illustration of a large wave, I was fascinated that by using only lines and solid colors we as artists can depict the translucency and ever-changing movement of waves. I began by delicately sketching out all of the letters using graph paper and micron pens. My work always begins with traditional media. The flower children of Canada Type are at it again. This time we went above and beyond the call of duty and right into the land of reconstruction in order to make this font. When we saw a few letters from an early 1970s film type called Jefferson Aeroplane, we had the sudden urge to bring their beauty to digital life. But since further research revealed no more letters or information, we just had to "wing" the rest of this Aeroplane. Now this Genie is out of the lava lamp, and it's nothing short of groovy. This set of initial decorated letters is an entirely original creation, drawn inspired by Italian renaissance engraver Vespasiano Amphiareo's paterns published in Venice circa 1568. It contains two roman alphabets : the first of large Initials, the second of small caps. Both containing thorn, eth, L & l slash, O & o slash. It can be used as variously as web-site titles, posters and flyers design, publishing texts looking like ancient ones, or greeting cards, all various sorts of presentations, as a very decorative, elegant and luxurious additional font... This font is conceived for enlargements remaining very smart and fine. The original height of the initials is at least about one inch equivalent to about four lines of characters, small caps may have the same height than the caps of the font used with, but cover two lines is better. This font may be used with all GLC blackletter fonts, but preferably with "1543 Humane Jenson", "1557 Italic", "1742 Civilite", "1776 Independence" without any fear for doing anachronism.

The inspiration source for Memoriam Initials is the 1934 Book of American Types by American Type Founders. In that specimen book, they had created a sophisticated two color initial design they called “University Initials” which was only available in metal type at 24, 36, and 48 points. This wonderfully detailed initial style is now digitally recreated and revived for modern use. Memoriam Initials is only capable of initial or single letter monograms due to its unique design. The two color aspect of the original design has been preserved and made accessible within all programs. The Capital character slots contain the background color glyphs, and the lowercase slots hold the outline art for the letters. You can choose a color, type a capital letter, then switch to black and type a lowercase letter for the two color effect, or just type a lowercase letter on its own. It’s that easy! Undulated is another typeface family from IngrimayneType that explores the possibilities of alternating letters sets. Undulated is similar to the typeface Undulate. Both alternate two sets of characters to form a wavy line of text. This alternating is done automatically in applications that support the OpenType feature contextual alternatives (calt). However, the peaks and valleys of the wave are in the middle of the characters in Undulate while in Undulated the peaks and valleys are at the right and left edges of each character. The waves in Undulated seem more chaotic and less soothing than the waves in Undulate. Undulated has monospaced and monoline letters. The letter spacing is tight to accentuate the ripple pattern. The family includes an outline style that can be used in a layer above the regular style to add color. The unusual patterns that Undulated gives are eye-catching and may be useful for advertising or signage and in other places where one wants attention-grabbing lettering.

Shopping Script is designed after and inspired by my handwritten shopping list that was originally a lot less stylish, I have written each words multiple times to achieve the organic and natural flow with a bit spaced out style. This font is an existing work of mine that came in only one weight. Now I added multiple weights I as well as expanded and condensed instances, along with a weight and width variable font file that can be set to anything in between Thin Condensed to Heavy expanded. One day shortly after Christmas 2004, the art-director of Vogue Moscow called me. Would I maybe make a Cyrillic version of my Bodoni Classic Text typeface? Well, since I had been thinking about doing it since a long time, this was the perfect reason to finally do it. It was not an easy venture, since I do not have the faintest idea of Russian but, together with those nice people in Russia and a fellow helpful type designer in Kiev, I managed. I did an enormous amount of kerning, thanks to the help of the Moscow Vogue office. Here the fonts are now for all of you: five text cuts, plus one standard roman cut that has no Cyrillic letters but an extra set of medieval numbers. ITC Abaton, by Argentinian designer Luis Siquot, is an exercise in geometry and simplification. “It is done,” says Siquot, “with few elements, with modules of only straight lines (horizontals, verticals and diagonals of almost 45 degrees). Drawing the I and the O, I got the basic elements, and so started the fight between strict geometry and optical impression, until I obtained the rest of the characters.” The basic rectangular form is characterized by wedge-shaped serifs, almost like caps on the heads and feet of the letters. “Abaton has the 'spirit' of 19th-century faces used on money bills or postage stamps, but the realization is totally different,” Siquot explains. Abaton is a “shaded” typeface of caps and slightly smaller caps, upright and slightly condensed in form. Although the letterforms are legible at small sizes, the shading tends to clog up if it gets too small, so Abaton is happiest as a distinctive display face.

Brecksville is a condensed grotesk typeface that takes inspiration from early German designs of the mid-19th century. It was designed as part of my current research into grotesk typefaces and different letterforms, as part of my dissertation research, “Perfected Letters: German Grotesk in the Nineteenth Century”, which focuses on the role of German design in typography. The Brecksville font family provides a wide range of weights, ranging from light to bold for both its rounded display style and more rugged sharp style. Both its styles feature the same horizontal proportions and metrics so they can freely be combined with no spacing issues. Brecksville's visually punchy condensed style and sharp edges, allows it to stand out on the screen – at almost any size. Its black composition also brings out the details needed in magazine and tabloid headlines, while maintaining readability throughout. SALO – is a hybrid of two Italian typographic worlds. The serif version refers to the beautiful and sophisticated typefaces found on the signs of cafes, restaurants, and fashionable boutiques. The biggest challenge during the project was designing all of the glyphs compatible to work as a 100% variable font. In the OTF version, SALO has 4 varieties: Serif, Semi Serif, Semi Sans and Sans. The family of these typefaces is suitable both for posters, magazine headlines, and branding purposes where the character will count. It is worth experimenting and combining different varieties with each other. (This font cannot be used to create a logo with the phrase "FRANCO").

This font is the result of merging my architecture background and my love for typography, which inspired me to create a system of fonts based on interior architecture design, furniture design and, especially, the love I feel for my home. The system comes with a monolinear style in sans and script versions, each including 5 weights, that share similar proportions, weight interpolation and details. Hogar is basically a sans with script gestures and a script with sans shapes. In order to make the system more complete, I included an italic version, also in 5 weights, which represents a transition between both main styles. Additionally, I developed a set of monolinear dingbats including some furniture designs by well-known architects.. The family supports more than 200 Latin derived languages.

Marlon Pro is a soft sans serif font family characterized by its contemporary aspect and its warm touch. Introducing Soka Typeface Soka font is inspired by a sans serif font that is retro style but still modern and unique. With a preview with a Japanese concept, the Soka font looks unique among other retro fonts. Sans Serif typefaces such as “Soka typeface” are very easy to apply to any design, especially those with an elegant and smooth concept, besides that this font is very easy to use both in design and non-design programs because everything changes and glyphs are supported by Unicode (PUA). The Soka typeface contains 522 glyphs with many unique and interesting alternative options. Plus, there's a cool sans serif font family for header and description text from thin to heavy and thin condensed to heavy condensed. In the poster preview all the letters are in the Soka typeface.

Ioana is an inoffensive, slightly quirky, slightly fattened sans serif font. It has a full character set as well as ligatures, small caps, superiors, inferiors, numerators, denominators and auto-fractions. Ioana came about as a direct result of 3 previous, private commissions that were all based on an artists hand-writing. For Ioana, I wanted a more regimented (but not boring) sans serif that could be used for headlines, posters and flyers with larger body text. Ioana Lighter is an inoffensive, slightly quirky, slightly lighter sans serif font. It is the lighter weight of Ioana and has a full character set as well as ligatures, small caps, superiors, inferiors, numerators, denominators, old style figures and auto-fractions. These OpenType fonts have support for CE languages and I hope you like it.

Carilliantine updates the organic curves of Art Nouveau typefaces typified by John F. Cumming's Desdemona, designed around 1886. A contemporary monoline sans reinterpretation rather than a more traditional serif, its high-waisted emphasis lends it an elegance and class. Carilliantine is replete with hundreds of two- and three-letter ligatures that bring a customised uniqueness to any headline. These are on by default, and can be toggled on or off in the Opentype palette of Adobe apps, or chosen individually according to taste from the Glyphs menu. Suitable for upmarket food packaging, wine labels, restaurants, folk bands, sword and sorcery trilogies, cosmetics and fashion brands that nod to the refinement of yesteryear, but are very much of today.
