The original sketch of Joker was drawn by Viktor Kharyk in 1978 as experiment on creation type by a method of subtraction. In 2000 the font was digitized, modified and Hebrew, Greek, Georgian, Armenian and Arabi? alphabets and outline style were added. As a display face, Joker allows the creation of decorative compositions, easily combining a vertical and horizontal arrangement of words. Its characters are easy for filling with images. In line the face creates ornamental effect very appropriate for logotype design. The font is good to set small expressive advertising texts also. Joker type family received the third prize at TypeArt 2001 Cyrillic type design competition in Moscow.

Cadmus Pro is the newly remastered and greatly expanded version of a Jim Rimmer design based on a type originally done by hand lettering artist Robert Foster. Foster’s type, named Pericles, was published by ATF in the 1930s, and used in lettering magazines and advertising headings. The design is based closely on early inscriptional Greek. Cadmus Pro comes with over 1130 glyphs, covering pretty much all Latin languages (including Vietnamese) as well as Cyrillic, Greek and Hebrew. OpenType features include stylistic alternates, automatic fractions, ordinals, and small figure ranges for superiors and inferiors. Proceeds from this font will be put towards a variety of Canadian typography education causes.

Isard is a very agile typeface, honoring its name, which is the name of a type of mountain goat from the Catalan Pyrenees. It is a multipurpose sans serif typeface with a down-to-earht elegance, thought for information design as well as branding. Isard is warm and friendly which also makes it suitable for advertising, packaging, and magazine. A series of misfortunes and wrong decisions left her on the street. Gemma is a calm, emotional person who likes to take her time to do things and, if there’s one thing the street can offer, it’s time. The street lets you listen carefully, watch without being seen. Being in the street isn’t pleasant at all. Seeing people who’ve just showered go past makes you miss even more things that many take for granted. Breakfast, a clean smell, paying for a metro ticket. Being homeless is much more than having nowhere to sleep. Life in the street is hard, says Gemma, but she also sees the positive side. “It’s the best way to get to know human beings.” She likes to see the street as if it were a school. A school she has been in and out of for too long.

Luis Serra was born in Alicante. There he grew up and even started a family His life was there. But at the age of 35 he split up with his wife and decided to go to Barcelona in search of a new life. And it wasn’t easy for him. He had to turn his hand to all kinds of jobs and didn’t manage to find the stability he needed. Luis is a shy, retiring person who takes great pleasure in the little things in life such as walking in the mountains or celebrating the victories of his football team, Barça. After four years living in Barcelona, Luis found himself in a position he’d never imagined. “The street’s much worse now, there’s more trouble, there’s more tension,” says Luís. In the street he had to learn, as he always had, to move fast, to find a place to sleep and something to eat. Luís is one of those people who don’t let circumstances mould him, but adapts to them and always tries to do his best.

Legende was originally designed by Friedrich Hermann Ernst Schneidler. In reminiscence to the good old times, Ralph M. Unger redrew and digitized this font in 2003. His work is based on artwork taken from old font catalogues.

Based on one of the earliest Tuscans, from Thorowgood's foundry. The original was very poorly rendered in 1822, but keep in mind that decorative types were still quite new in the early 1800s. We redrew it, but kept it recognizable.

النبض - the Pulse Pulse JP ME is a constructivist text and display font that differs from comparable fonts due to its special sharpness and harmonious balance. Its technical and constructed form creates a somewhat artificial impression of particular appeal. It is ideal for display on the screen and can be used in many projects. Pulse JP ME is a super family consisting of 48 fonts from compressed to expanded in six weights each. This opens up a wide designspace with the possibility of combining typefaces of the same character in a wide variety of variants and being able to adapt them to very different conditions. The details of the individual fonts are coordinated with each other with great precision and perfectly implemented in terms of craftsmanship. In all variants, this leads to a very balanced design with particular sharpness. The very extensive character set supports 120 Latin + 7 Arabic languages + Hebrew. The Arabic characters were designed in close collaboration with the Iranian designer Prof. Raafat Negarandeh. Here the constructivist approach is repeated within Arabic proportions. This leads to a very reduced and clear design with high legibility. Additional typographical adjustments can be made in the variable font, which is also available. There all variants are stored in a single font and can be continuously fine-tuned between them.

Discórdia is a type-family of contrasting contrasts. Each of the four members of the family has a different contrast type. Regular has broad-nib contrast, Bold has horizontal contrast, the Italic is monoline, which means it has no apparent contrast, and Bold Italic is... Well, it’s probably best if see for yourself. These different design structures were fine-tuned to work well together in the same line, creating emphasis and hierarchy through a mini-super-family that groups a wedge-serif Regular, a slab-serif Bold, a sans-serif-ish Italic and a twisted Bold Italic. Nimbus Sans ME is the expansion within the Nimbus Sans family for the Middle East range: Arabic (incl. Farsi) and Hebrew. Volker Schnebel has designed both scripts, which each include five upright and five cursive styles. The design is contemporary and fits the Latin Nimbus Sans. Besides the basis characters, the Arabic also includes the presentation forms: the variations for initial, medial and final letters. The correspondent OTF features are included in the fonts. All three scripts are perfectly combinable. Nimbus Sans is one of the best supported and most favored URW fonts ever. It is available as a Global Font in 4 weights and contains up to 65.000 characters per font.

Salvador was born in a small village in the province of Seville, Spain where he lived until 2002. During many years he worked in restaurants, construction, and in the fields, until he decided to go try his luck in Palma de Mallorca. There he worked in hotels and in construction, until the economic crisis erupted and he was left without work or benefits of any kind and he began to live in the street: “The street has few good things, but it teaches you to be more selfless, to share with others what you have, even if it isn’t much.” In 2006, a friend encouraged him to come along to Barcelona and bought his plane ticket. Once there, things did not go much better and he had to continue living in the street. A year ago he left behind that life and now he explains his experience in guided tours to school groups: “I like it because I see that many of them are interested and they ask questions. It is good that they learn.”
