Dignus was inspired in two clever and famous typefaces: Bank Gothic and Microgramma. Bank Gothic designed by Morris Fuller Benton for ATF in 1930. Microgramma typeface designed by Alessandro Butti and Aldo Novarese for Nebiolo in 1952. Those typefaces were based on a stable rectangular shape with rounded corners, denoting the constructivist heritage and technological spirit of '50. We'd intended to review that typographic scenery with our contemporary point of view, aiming to obtain the formal synthesis of the signs and increase its legibility. Dignus fonts support Central, Eastern and Western European languages. ITC Flora is the work of Dutch designer Gerard Unger, and is named for his daughter. He started by doing calligraphy experiments with felt-tip and ballpoint pens, and developed these drawings into a formalized script typeface. Swiss typographer Max Caflisch advised the Dr.-Ing Rudolf Hell GmbH technology firm to add a new round-nibbed script face to their Digiset type library, and in 1984, Flora was released by Hell. Unger used a chancery cursive skeleton in this design, which imparts grace and movement. Flora was also intentionally designed to be simple and sturdy, and with its minimal variation in thick/thin stroke ratio, it worked well on the early digital typesetting machines. In 1989, the International Typeface Corporation released the font. ITC Flora continues to work well on current printers and typesetters, and it has an enduring popularity for uses that range from short text passages to display headlines.

Mofid Mahdi is a distinctive, bold Arabic display face, suitable for heading and titling work in Arabic newspaper and magazine composition. In this typeface the rounded internal counters and dots contrast with the angular and more robust outlines of the letterforms to give a decorative, harlequin-like appearance. The design was originally developed for use in dry-transfer format, and was first produced as a digital font by Linotype-Hell Ltd. in the early 1980s. Initially a simplified face, with its inherent limited range of letterforms, Mofid Mahdi was enhanced during the late 1980s by the introduction of medial letterforms to improve character spacing and balance. The recent advent of OpenType has led to the release of Mofid Mahdi. This OpenType font includes Latin glyphs from Memphis Extra Bold, allowing users to set text in both most Western European and Arabic languages without switching between fonts. Mofid Mahdi incorporates the Basic Latin character set and the Arabic character set, which supports Arabic, Persian, and Urdu. TurvyTopsy offers all the fun of delightful hand-drawn irregularity, captured in a typeface. Designing this was a wonderful exercise in ignoring all the rules of precise geometric construction to which we normally work.
