A hand-lettered title on a children's stencil book for sale in an online auction served as the basis for Rustic Stencil JNL. Reminiscent of classic wood type, this stencil design adds a Western-influenced flair to any typographic project.

Based on sketches of an alphabet from examples of South Western cattle brand marks. I always liked the idea of these brands for a font. A few years later a basic font - just the capitals - was used for some logo designs.

This font is based on the handwriting of author Franz Kafka and captures his expressive handwriting style, using the manuscript of The Trial and his diaries as the primary reference. The font presents the elegance and nervousness with which he wrote his letters and book manuscripts. Inspired by both by Arabic calligraphy, and contemporary bitmap design, Bachir Soussi Chiadmi created this playful series of faces. Letters in each of the six typefaces link together, but not in the ways normally expected from script fonts. The freeflowing and quite feminine style of this script appealed to me, but it needed a bit of taming. FDI Triumph revives Albert Auspurg’s “Triumph” typeface originally released in 1929 by the type foundry Ludwig Wagner in Leipzig. The forgotten design was carefully digitized from the original wood type font and extended to cover the Western codepages Win 1252 and Mac Roman.
