A bold spur serif design found within the pages of the 1934 French lettering instruction book “L'Art du Tracé Rationnel de la Lettre” provided the inspiration for Railway Depot JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Spirits design was initially based on Hermann Ihlenburg's Schoeffer Old Style from the 1912 ATF catalog. Soft is the closest version to the printed original typeface. Neutral, with more formal serifs, is ideal for editorial design, for example newspaper headlines. Sharp, more contemporary, is the best choice for meeting today's design needs. Condensed proportions and large x-height, features found in the original font, make Spirits ideally suited for headlines and branding design. Home Run Script has the formality of 18th-century English roundhands, narrow, tightly fitted and drawn in a very bold weight and inspired by my ITC Eclat font. The x-height is large, and the caps are simply drawn with minimal swashes. Its companion font Home Run Sanscript, sold separately also, has sans serif caps that enable the user to combine script and sanserif caps with the same slope. It has the same lowercase as Home Run Script with a few alternate characters and sans serif lining and Oldstyle figures. Both Young Finesse and Home Run include Richard Isbell’s “interrabang,” appropriately used for statements that are both interrogative and exclamatory.

The all-caps display face Sandwich was inspired by historic, hand lettered sans serif alphabets with slightly sloping terminals, as found in showcard lettering and on billboards. Besides a number of alternate glyphs located in the lowercase area of the font, the typeface features about forty 'ligatures'. These are not ligatures in the traditional sense of the word, but short two- or three-letter combinations — mostly prepositions, conjunctions, articles and so on — in different languages, which are positioned vertically, not horizontally. Since the number of such pre-fabricated ligatures in a font is limited and cannot possibly cover all the desired combinations, a special algorithm programmed into the OpenType font permits the user to compose any two- or three-letter words, provided no accented characters are used. This is why Sandwich includes five versions of each letter. Using the full possibilities offered by the OpenType format, the automatic vertical aligning of glyphs is based on a combination of optional ligatures, style sets, and modified kerning.

Tarocco is a typical book face with good readability and rather tall x-height. The origin for this typeface is found in Nordisk Antikva. A typeface especially constructed with attention for the Swedish language. Waldemar Zachrisson was determined to realize his ideas and in 1906 he began to cooperate with the foundry Genzsch & Heyse, based in Hamburg. Some influences of Jugendt can be found and the typeface were released in 1910. It became rather popular until around 1930. The MRF version includes 7 weights all together.
