Alice is a formal fantasy font. It’s inspired in the fairy tales and magical lands that my mother used to tell me as a child when I went to sleep. The capitals are really nice and complex, while the minuscules are cleaner for easier reading. The style Curly uses some features of the normal uppercase letters in the lowercase ones. There are some minor, yet noticable, flaws in a number of characters that will need correction for signage/vinyl letter cuts (characters appx. 2-1/2" and larger).

Biscuit Boodle is a fun and uplifting script from Portland Studios Illustrator Justin Gerard. The characters are brush drawn with a slight texture. Boutros Angham is a humanist-inspired, sans-serif typeface designed and created to work harmoniously with its Latin version whilst respecting Arabic calligraphic and cultural rules. Ascenders and descenders are very prominent and apertures are wide to easily distinguish letters from one another. The Art Deco style of the 1930s offers many variants of the popular "streamline" look in hand lettering found on old sheet music titles. Thoroughfare JNL is one such example of a monoline design with the interesting curves and angles that was considered so modern and up to the minute for its time.

Screenplay JNL was modeled from the signage seen in an old photo of the RKO movie studios building circa the 1930s. This multi-line lettering is so classic of the Art Deco period. For best effect and readability, use wider spacing between letters. For single words or initials, regular spacing should do fine.

A vintage photo (circa 1950s) taken outside one of the movie houses owned at the time by Miami-based Wometco Theaters showed a small hand lettered sign with the word “Wometco” painted in a stylized Art Deco alphabet. The July 26, 1934 of the movie industry trade paper The Film Daily contained an ad for Paramount promoting its most recent releases. Hand lettered in an ultra bold Art Deco sans serif style, it was the working model for Self Promotion JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

A 1935 piece of sheet music entitled “(There’s A) Little Picture Playhouse in My Heart” had its movie-themed title hand lettered in a condensed Art Deco style with a few interesting character variations. The sheet music for "Dancing Butterfly" had the title of the 1929 composition hand lettered in what can be only described as an odd hybrid of letters with an Art Nouveau stencil influence. This quirky style became the basis for Odd Stencil JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

You will see this in the old type catalogs as Dainty. Late in the nineteenth century, type founders developed a number of fonts with a "pen-drawn" look. They wanted to complete with the work of the hand lettering artists who were coming into their own, thanks to the new art of photoengraving

The French lettering book Album de Lettres Arti (1949) displayed a number of examples of unique, stylized typefaces. One in particular features a multi-line sans serif in a classic Art Deco style with open-ended characters. This design is now available as Sign Studio JNL in both regular and oblique versions.
