The idea for this font family, derived from SMS text message faces (Emojis) and found photographs of faces collected over the last ten years. All three fonts - Dropout, Rough Diamond and Thorny, evolved from experimenting with a cubic template devised as the basis for a retro display type series titled ‘Flashback’.
