Echelon is based upon 1970s Eastern European ‘pipe-style’ typefaces. This style of Communist consumer typography came from what, at the time, seemed like a bizarre mirror universe: Existing alongside the West, similar-but-different, essentially unknowable. Even though the letterforms had the same historical origins as their Western equivalents, they also had their own bizarre fashionable/unfashionable aesthetic. The parallels between the surveillance practices of the Soviet Union and those of today’s Western governments informed the naming of this typeface. Echelon is the codename for a massive international surveillance system that collects and processes data from communications satellites. It can eavesdrop on telecoms and computer systems, it can track bank accounts. It can record and store information on millions of individuals.

Jugo Script is a Koziupa/Paul near-parody of the soft and speedy late-1980s, early-1990s display scripts. Though it essentially is one of the usual exhibits of Koziupa's calligraphic skill, its individual shapes and overall construct show a mischievous wink at Oz Cooper and the hundreds of lens-blurred film types he inspired in the 1970s and 80s. Koziupa's unique sense of letterform and proportion is on full display in the uppercase and the figures, while the lowercase is an eccentric exercise in single stroke lettering, complete with quick and subtle wrist bends, minimal pausing, and hurried exits. Poster type faces from the twenties and thirties are enjoying a new wave of popularity. The summary, even rather hard principle of the sign is required for a view from a distance. The information appearing on the poster must be readable even from the opposite pavement. And, as is often the case with monumental type faces, these type faces are legible even in small sizes. The name Bahnhof suggests the hypothetical use of the type face on railway station buildings.

Chinoise, a CastleType original, is based on hand lettering that is reminiscent of a style of ancient Chinese square-cut ideograms (perhaps cut in wood), and therefore the suggestive name "Chinoise" for this new design. There are alternate forms for each letter in the lowercase. Although square-cut, all corners of the letters are slightly rounded to give a more organic, weather-worn look. Uppercase only with support for most European languages, including modern Greek, and languages that use the Cyrillic alphabet.

Coffinated features letters on coffin shapes. This caps-only family has two sets of characters, with one on coffins that are flipped from those in the other set. The OpenType feature contextual alternatives (calt) prevents two characters from the same set being adjacent. The two styles, bold and regular, can be used in layers to add color. There are not a lot of uses for macabre lettering (horror? Halloween?) but Coffinated is available for those who do find a use.

Whichit contains typefaces designed with a hexagonal motif. The opposite sides of the hexagon are parallel but two of them are longer than the other four. It does not have reflective symmetry so flipping it over a vertical line returns a different appearance. One of these appearances is the basis for WhichIt and the other for WhichItTwo. Each has three weights and each weight has an italic style. The result is a quirky sans-serif family of a dozen faces.

Influenza, whose name means 'the flu' in a number of languages, is a fat, single weight typeface. It's a bastard typeface, each character stands alone as an independent angular structure. Some characters have stylised blackletter features, some are quasi-bitmapped, some are blends between upper and lower case. This also inspired the name since the flu virus changes every time it comes around, it's a new disease every time you have to stay home under the covers drinking hot tea.

TDL Ruha Crown is a decorative, modern and mechanical display typeface and it results from the development of the stencil RUHA. Being the first typeface of the family, sets the basic concepts to be developed further, on each version to come. There is an rigid geometrical connection with the Roman du Roi design approach, since the letterforms are imposed by the constraints of the RUHA ruler. The main typographic proportions are connected with the modern typefaces, like Didot or Bodoni.

Random Thoughts is a selection of of quite simple handmade capital letters. They are legible, almost mono-lined, handmade and they are a bit jumpy - but never the less, they suit a headline that needs a catchy look very fine! I've included 4 different versions of each letter. One lowercase, one uppercase and two contextual alternates. These 4 different versions automatically cycle as you type, leaving your text quite random - but still very clear and legible! And, of course, there is multilingual support!

This decorative caps-only type family was designed in 2004 by Vladimir Pavlikov and licensed by ParaType. Humboldt is an ultra fat headline face. How bold can you go? Humboldt is an experiment to push the boundaries of character recognition: Its forms are extremely bloated yet highly distinctive. Open type savvy features provide an unexpected embellishment: small capitals, both lower case and upper case figures and several alternate glyphs are intrinsic in the design. Humboldt makes nice headlines and striking poster typography or logotypes. It can to some extent be used for setting even short phrases of text.

Persona is based on characters texted with a brush and found on a poster made for the Swedish poetry magazine Lyrikvännen. While the characters in Manuskript are typographically and calligraphically done with great skill, the ones in Persona carry a highly personal touch. Still, they are fully usable - for the right kind of work. The name refers to the personal shaping of the characters. In Esperanto, which contributed with the name once more, persona" means "personal". Persona was released in 1995.

“Tsubu” (つぶ) means something small and round, like a fruit seed or a grain of rice in Japanese. All characters are completely geometric, consisting of no more than 5 x 12 dots, with a few exceptions. And proportional and monospace styles are available. It is recommended that letter spacing be set to 0 to maintain dot pitch. When the line height is set to 100%, the dot pitch is aligned horizontally and vertically, resulting in a beautiful geometric display.

Palitura is a display typeface designed to translate Cyrillic flavor into the Latin script. Palitura means lacquered book cover in Old Ukrainian. Quench is a fun and unique typeface from designer Hannes von Döhren. It is unmistakably characterized by its strong contrast of inside and outside forms.
