Cotton Club remembers the fonts of the thirties of the last century and the Bodoni, but it does not present graces: it is a sans serif. The emphasized signs give the font an essential, sharp and elegant look. The Italic style of the Cotton Club refers to handwriting and this is noticeable in the ligatures obtained with kerning. The name of the font, “Cotton Club,” refers to the famous Jazz Club in New York, in Harlem, active in the twenties and thirties, during and after Prohibition. In this way even mathematic equations look nice! Scripticus has a lot of OT-features that help it do its job. IngrimayneType has put letters inside a variety of objects, including bowling pins, book covers, coffee mugs, teapots, pumpkins, Christmas ornaments, train cars, tombstones, old bottles, circles, and rectangles. In each case the letters were placed on a single shape. The use of the Opentype feature of contextual alternatives makes it easy to use two different but alternating shapes. ButterflyWingz puts its letters on the right and left wings of a butterfly. The wings provide a large surface for drawing letters, but they have a odd shape so letters must be distorted to fit. The wings are symmetrical but some letters are not, so the right and left wing versions of the same letter are sometimes quite different. Without the contextual alternative feature one could design a typeface like ButterflyWingz but the user would have to alternate upper and lower case keys. With contextual alternatives turned on, the computer automatically alternates the letters creating a line of complete butterflies. Turning on the Opentype feature stylistic styles one (ss01) replaces the empty spaces with empty wings. However, sometimes an empty wing at the end of a line is unwanted and it can be removed by changing the typeface or by turning off the stylistic style for that character. The family contains two styles, a filled style and an outline style. They can be used separately or together in layers to add color. (Empty wings are on the logicalnot and registered characters.) ButterflyWingz is hard to read and should be used in small doses for decorative effects.

I come from a family of educators- my mom, husband, stepmom, brother-in-law, and sister are all currently teaching and I have taught in the past. This font was created after speaking to several elementary school teachers who were struggling to find just the right font to use on worksheets and projects in their classroom. They liked many features of other fonts, but needed small things altered in order to make a "perfect fit" for their class. Hand-drawn by me, this font hopefully addresses several of those issues. As penmanship styles vary across the globe, I am sure this font will not work in every classroom. SAV Display PT is directly inspired from hand-painted commercial signage found around Savannah, Georgia. There is a strong tradition of hand-painted signs adorning small car wash stations, to beauty salons, to mechanics and restaurants. Currently a collection of about four to five painters account for the majority of the signs. This font was derived from 10 uppercase letters that seemed to represent the aesthetic thread found throughout the signs. There are no lowercase letters found in these signs, so the lowercase of the font had to be designed from scratch. I felt this added versatility to the font and its possibilities for usage. This font is strictly a display font. However, because of the apparent roots (intended or unintended) of the lettering to transitional/modern modulated fonts, it does read surprising well at smaller sizes.

Sophima exudes languorous luxury. The writing glides around, changing elevation above and below the standard x-height, giving it a lively and raucous vibe. Sophima is designed for 3D printing. I required a contemporary script with technical elements that could be printed using a 3D printer. This necessitates the use of quite thick linking characters. Another result of this technology was the need that all letters, including caps, be linked. Such letters are included in optional Opentype style sets. The unusual technological limitation gave the design a new and distinct vibe. Sophima may be used for a variety of purposes, including headlines, weddings, social media, logos, posters, packaging, T-shirts, coffee shops, restaurants, magazine headers, signage, gift/post cards, cafés, and weddings. Designers have a plethora of alternatives from which to pick, giving them greater variety, power, and creative flexibility. Automatic ligatures for best character connections are supplied, as are alternate ending characters that appear at the end of words that lack connectors or have lengthy swash endings. Sophima is made up of five fonts: one standard and five texture variants that change the tone of the typeface. Each design has 500 characters and is available in more than 75 languages. The typeface has 15 OpenType features, such as stylistic alternates that change the look of characters, ligatures, and more. Constraints and a desire to solve challenges breed the finest creativity. Roc is a sans serif grotesk inspired by American wood types from the end of the 19th century. With nine weights in five widths, this family contains 45 fonts in total. The character set supports Western and Central European languages, as well as Turkish. Roc Grotesk comes in a range of five widths: Compressed, Condensed, Normal, Wide and ExtraWide, in order to cover a wide scope of applications. Although the styles at both ends of each range are made in their most pronounced form in terms of width and weight, they are not taken to such extremes as to become absurd, and are quite usable in display settings. The Normal width keeps all its nine styles in proportionally similar widths. The Compressed width, however, is deliberately made to be disproportionate, so that every style takes the least possible horizontal space. That is why the contrast between Compressed Thin and Compressed Heavy style is substantial. As the weights progress from Thin to Heavy, the stroke contrast becomes more prominent. It is intentionally exaggerated in heavier weights, which is particularly apparent in the uppercase E and R of the Black and Heavy style. Roc has a large x-height and relatively short descenders and ascenders. No uppercase letter descends below the baseline, so the lines of an all-caps text can be packed tightly on a poster or a headline. The Regular style is somewhat generously spaced, as it is most likely to be used for setting longer passages of text. Its Bold counterpart is spaced in such a way that the width of the text column will be similar to the text set in Regular. Tabular figures in these two styles have exact matching widths, so for example, you could emphasize one row of numbers in a data column without visually disrupting the vertical order of the table. The lowercase g and r have alternatives to accommodate what most designers expect from a typical Grotesk typeface. The single-story g and the cut-off r are accessible via the OpenType feature.

Archive Garamond is a typeface roughly based on the designs of Claude Garamond (ca. 1480 – 1561), a French publisher and a leading typeface designer of that period. Garamond’s influence on type design is reflected in many typefaces that are today known under different commercial names. While the majority of contemporary digital interpretations of the “Garamond types” are cleaner and more polished versions of that genre, Archive Garamond tries to keep the rough nature which was typical in the early days of printing. Archive Garamond has a rather unique, distinctive temperament which is even more emphasised with the preserved non-uniformity, such as irregular glyph shapes or a variable baseline. Although Archive Garamond was clearly made to be used for display sizes it works surprisingly well in text. Archive Garamond is availale in three versions, each containing approximately 600 glyphs (in Pro versions). Archive Garamond Pro A Professional version of the typeface contains all glyphs, including the advanced typographic forms, such as different sets of figures, small caps, swashes, historical forms, etc. The font also enables full use of the OpenType features. It fully supports the languages listed in the language list. Archive Garamond Std A Standard version of the typeface is meant to be used for the basic typographic work. It typically contains the most common glyphs. The standard figures are proportional lining. Besides kerning this version does not contain any advanced OpenType features. A Standard file type fully supports the languages listed in the Language list. Archive Garamond Exp An Expert version contains glyphs that are supposed to be used in advanced typographic works. This type of file contains uppercase and small cap glyphs with the proportional oldstyle figures as the default set. Besides kerning this version does not contain any advanced OpenType features (all OTF features have to be replaced manually). An Expert file type fully supports the languages listed in the Language list.
