Love Script came about as a way to finally answer the requests by individuals to take my brush pen/marker lettering styles and turn them into a typeface. Literally, everything lined up perfectly and there was a renewed impetus to push this genre, this style of lettering I have adapted over the years into what will become a series of brush pen/marker typefaces. The first I chose to complete was a high-contrast variant… I seem to be attracted to high contrast, high energy letters (think Lust, Lust Slim and Lust Script). As I was finalizing everything, I kept saying ‘I love this script’, which ultimately led the christening of the typeface as Love Script. The Gold Rush is over, the prospectors have made their fortune and the mine has been worked out! The inhabitants of Boomtown USA have moved on -- the saloon is dry, the sheriff has hung his hat and the only visitors to the local whorehouse are tumbleweeds. Vuk Stefanovic Karadzic was a Serbian philologist and linguist who was the major reformer of the Serbian language. In addition to his linguistic reforms, Karadzic also contributed to folk literature, using peasant culture as the foundation. Because of his peasant upbringing, he was closely associated with the oral literature of the peasants, compiling it to use in his collection of folk songs, tales, and proverbs. He was well known abroad and familiar to Jacob Grimm, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and historian Leopold von Ranke. This typeface, based on his manuscripts, presents the perfect balance between casual handwriting and careful calligraphy. ITC Typados is the joint effort of Roselyne and Michel Besnard and is composed of characters in two different senses of the word. German Designer Klaus Sutter digitized Mustang, a brush script typeface from the 1950s originally drawn by Imre Reiner (1900-1987) and published in 1956 by D. Stempel AG.
