Free-flowing pen lettering of the Art Nouveau period took letter forms into interesting curves and angles. The style was embraced and revived by the 1960s counter-culture in its rock concert posters and record album covers. However, the source for Casual Nouveau JNL is a 1911 piece of sheet music entitled "Back to the Carolina You Love".

This prize-winning font was designed by the German artist Christian Vornehm. The font looks as though hastily drawn with a wide, bristly brush, as though the scribe was in a hurry. Vestigio m. Ing. & Fr. vestige: a trace, mark or visible sign left by something as an ancient city in a condition or practice vanished or lost. Vestigia is born by lost pieces of other typography, being then, Garbancera's descendant. It evolved to be seen in big point sizes and compete with other fierce competitors, while retaining some features of it ancient predecessor, navigates a gothic fraktur experimental style, existing between legible and illegible reading.

Unsure what the result would be, the team started experimenting with a slab serif version. ‘We didn’t know how it would turn out, but we really liked it and wanted to take it further. 3 robbers is not a typeface family, only a collective name for three typefaces with the looks of handtexted characters: Kasper, Jesper and Jonatan. There are some common traits between them, but they are three individuals. As the three terrible" robbers in the Swedish writer Lennart Hellsing's Kamomillastad - the ones who borrowed their names to the typefaces - are three individuals. They always appear in the same order: first Kasper, then Jesper and last Jonatan. Swedish children love to sing about them and are not at all scared of them. All three robbers were released in 1995.

A slightly regularized digital version of a late Baroque Fraktur type, probably from the beginning of the 18th century, issued by the Norstedts type foundry in Stockholm in 56 point size as "Sju petit fraktur nr 2". This digital font is designed for rather large sizes, at least 30 points. Initially inspired by an untitled typeface from an old hand-lettering book, Berber has been extensively developed over two incarnations to function as a very strong and confident sans. The 2011 Berber revisions have enabled Berber to be used across longer settings as well as its more conventional use on larger applications such as signage. Berber was used as the text face for issue 46 of Eye, the graphic design journal. The typeface now features both king caps and small caps. Pardesi font is named after a song from Raja Hindustani, a 1996 Bollywood movie directed by Dharmesh Darshan. The lead roles were played by Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor. Together they sing: 'Pardesi, pardesi, jaana nahi', meaning so much as: 'Foreigner, foreigner, don't go'. I remember this song very well, as I was backpacking through India and Nepal at the time and it was played over and over again on all long distance buses I took. Pardesi font is a fat, rounded, marker-pen font, ideal for books and posters. It comes with extensive language support.

Ammurapi was the last king of Ugarit, which was destroyed circa 1200 B.C. Back then all writing was done by hand and all that has been preserved is on clay tablets many of which were fired in the very destruction of the cities that enabled these documents to withstand the rvages of time. Ugarit unlike the other cuneiform scripts has a very limited number of glyphs. It is somehow exotically attractive. This font has been encoded in the appropriate unicode block to permit ease of use for scholarly purposes, but would also make a fine use as a decorative element.

XPawnShop is a typographical chess font; the pieces are letters. The Pawn is an awkward letter P, the knight is a horse in the shape of an h, the bishop is a decorative letter B, the rook is an elephant with an R shape, the queen is a Q, and the king is an ornate K. Two other XPawnShop fonts are made of very simple pieces, but as a bonus, both have the set of dominoes from the unicode block 1F030 to 1F093. SchmalfetteCP is the result of another collaboration between designers Jason Walcott and Rob King. King suggested that Walcott revive this wonderful and somewhat forgotten sans serif typeface from the mid 1950s. Originally designed by Walter Haettenschweiler in 1954, Schmalfette Grotesk was used for many years in the German magazine "Twen". The typeface was notoriously hard to acquire at the time and graphic designers in the USA often resorted to cutting letters from the Twen magazines and reusing them in their own designs. Later, when digital type came along several typefaces very similar were created that claimed to be digital revivals of Schmalfette Grotesk. However, they are actually only loosely based on the original. The proportions are different and in some cases a lower case was added. The original font was all caps. At Rob King's suggestion, Jason Walcott has strived to recreate the most faithful digital revival possible of the original Schmalfette Grotesk with the new version of SchmalfetteCP. In some cases small changes were made to accommodate today's digital needs (e.g. web fonts), but anyone who has ever searched for this typeface now has a version available that most closely resembles Haettenschweiler's original work. Schmalfette CP comes in OpenType format in both .ttf and .otf files and offers support for all Latin based and Eastern European languages.
