Clavo was picked for the EXHIBITION CALL FOR TYPE - NEW TYPEFACES and is presented in the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz, Germany. Clavo is a multipurpose font family. Its warmth comes from subtle details, classical proportions and traditional forms, while harmonious structure prevents distraction while reading. This makes Clavo a universal typeface. In all sizes, from caption to display. The family consists of ten weights. They were not created in a linear way. The steps between the weights were adjusted carefully to avoid a mechanical graduation, in favor of optical harmony. Clavo covers all latin languages. If your looking for a vintage animated typestyle that still feels current today, you've just found it! Mushmouth PB started as a digitization of a film typeface called "Albert" by LetterGraphics. This all capitals font has a super subtle bounce and a playful heavy weight. An extruded film variation of this typeface was used back in the day on Post's Frosted Rice Krinkles cereal. Named in tribute to the original font name "Albert", we picked a fellow member of Fat Albert's gang for the name of this font. We think it is fitting, even though the original film font naming had nothing to do with the cartoon at all. Give Mushmouth a spin and pick it up today!

Capsule is a reverse-stress, high-contrast, rounded sans-serif font with two distinct personalities. An all-caps face, there are however variations of some letters in the lowercase slots. The lowercase variants are more playful, with more bulbous elements that riff on phototype faces like Amelia and Data 70, but all can work together and be mixed and matched to your heart's content. Capsule boasts a bunch of esoteric discretionary ligatures to play around with, and stylistic alternates for 4, 7 and £. Dufour was named in honor of an art deco font called "Independent" designed in the 1930s by Collette and Dufour. "Dufour" is influenced by the original font, however, there are substantial differences: instead of small caps, a true lower case was created, the upper case character proportions and shapes have been greatly modified, and all missing characters have been created to make a truly modern font which nevertheless has all of the panache of the original. A related font is Collette, designed by Anton Scholtz, however, Dufour has a softer feel that is more true to the original art deco period. Dufour comes in four styles: Dufour Regular, Dufour Regular Outline, Dufour Condensed, and Dufour Condensed Outline. The font has been carefully kerned and best results are obtained if kerning is switched on. (All-caps passages work well.) It is best used to create a retro feel and in headings, subheads and in short passages of text. Very effective in marketing for products for children.

Sicret is a perfectly geometric typeface family. It was drawn by Måns Grebäck in 2020, and each one of its glyphs was manually created by following a strict mathematical pattern consisting of only two basic shapes, in four different combinations, set on a three units tall grid. The resulting product is a true monoline font with a solid character, with an official look while yet going towards sci-fi because of its digital nature. The family consists of nine weights: Thin, Extra Light, Light, Regular, Medium, Semi Bold, Bold, Extra Bold and Black. Big Brush is the result of me seeing Brush Script everywhere around me. Toronto signage is full of Brush Script. My last two trips to the West Coast showed me mostly Brush Script. Brush Script must be the most widely overused North American script font of all time. Don't we all know at least one restaurant or bar with its sign made in Brush Script? TurvyTopsy offers all the fun of delightful hand-drawn irregularity, captured in a typeface. Designing this was a wonderful exercise in ignoring all the rules of precise geometric construction to which we normally work. These irregular forms somehow achieve a delightful character & legibility all of their own.

Argenta is an informal, "hand-printing" font that has the appearance of writing by a child in elementary school. Argenta comes in three weights and has an oblique style for each weight. The child handwriting characteristic is developed in the ArgentaBobbed fonts, which add dots or little balls to the ends of letters. (Could they be called, "Ball Serif?")

Ernie is a new animated typeface by Jim Ford, intended as a complimentary serif design to Freeman Craw’s fun retro hit, Ad Lib. The serif drawings mimic the behaviors of Ad Lib, on a Clarendon-esque structure. The application of Ad Lib’s behaviors to a serif design highlights it's quirky characteristics; notably in the added contrast, the bending of serifs and the translation to Ernie’s ball terminals. The lowercase g is probably the most extreme example of this "translation." Ernie has a savvy system of text animation built in; with dualing lowercase alphabets, 34 ligatures, and an extensive glossary of custom words, all programmed to automatically make intelligent pseudorandom wordshapes. It's called RMS, aka the Randomagic System. The glossary of “buzz” words is based on the most common and powerful words in marketing and advertising, as well as words that are specific to Ernie’s intended uses.. Additionally, Ernie Alt provides the opposite randomization effects in lowercase text, thus reversing the rhythm of the bounce. Ernie Sorts is a bonus font which includes fun printers fists, expandable banners and other graphic elements. The Ernie character and cartoons were created by Johnny Sampson, as a visualization of the typeface, it's character and it's unique features.

We named this font Scholz Secession. Fin-de-siecle Vienna, Austria is the source of this Jugendstil design from Schriftgiesserei Eduard Scholz. The original release was under the name Reklameschrift Secession. Most of the curve strokes look like commas to me. The letters are as soft and plump as the comforter on the bed I slept on in a Salzburg B&B many years ago. I was traveling with a college buddy and our next stop was Vienna. There a kind, young student named Hanna and her boyfriend took us under their wing. One of the places Hanna proudly showed us was Otto Wagner’s Majolika Haus, built in 1898, and only about 8 blocks from Secession Hall. Hanna explained to us that the style was called Jugendstil and represented Art Nouveau as interpreted within the framework of their culture. I even took a picture. After all, memories are part of who we are. Figures are old-style for text use. This font would not be my first choice for a spread sheet. Included are German ligatures ch (alt-0123) & ck (125), two period ornaments (135, 175) and lower case o and u with Hungarian long umlaut (215, 247)). A very likeable and easy-to-use font.

For some reason I had Paul Simon’s song ‘You Can Call Me All’ in my head when I was busy working on this font, so I just had to call it Bonedigger. Bonedigger does not dig bones, but it does have ‘heavy bones’, as it is quite big. Bonedigger is seriously eroded and would look great on book covers and product packaging. It comes in a lovely regular and italic style and a seriously twisted inline style (with, of course, its own italic). As the song goes: With a knick-knack paddywhack, give the dog a bone, this old font came rolling home.

Bank of England is loosely based on the blackletter lettering from Series F English twenty pound banknotes introduced in 2007. The font takes inspiration from German Kanzlei (Chancery) typefaces and the English calligraphers John Ayres and George Bickham. For designers using OpenType-aware applications, Bank of England includes Swash versions of all uppercase letters and ampersand, Alternates for nine lowercase letters and capital Z, and sixteen ornamental flourishes. Western European accented characters are included, and also a simplified St. Edward’s Crown (Elizabeth II’s coronation crown) at the Section (§) and PlusMinus (±) keystrokes (Windows Alt-0167 and Alt-0177).

Stripated is an informal funky font mainly for distinctive headlines and posters, or similar display work. There's still all the features you'd expect like Class Kerning and accented characters, ligatures for ffi, ffl and so on, and a few other extras. The four versions are set up as follows: Plain has all the letters and black stripes in the normal vertical alignment; Jumbled One has the lower case letters all jiggled about but the boxes still square and vertical; Jumbled Two has ALL letters, numbers, and virtually all punctuation jumbled up; and Wild has all that and the black boxes going slightly off square as well. There's 3 different Space characters and a few other character variations in Stylistic Alternates (fuller details in the zip).

The 1907 Barnhart Brothers & Spindler type specimen catalog called this unique typeface simply "Umbra". Since that name is already taken, it now has another. Due to the highly ornate nature of this face, the font has a limited character set (all accented characters, but no math operators or fractions).
