Loosely based on a hand lettered title found on vintage sheet music for the song "Hong Kong", the design for Kwun Tong JNL emulates the letters and numbers formed from pieces of bamboo stalk. Kwun Tong JNL is named for a locality in Hong Kong although (according to Wikipedia) "the Hong Kong Government is unitary and does not define cities and towns as subsidiary administrative units."

Bango Pro is a lively, heavyweight font with a strong cartoon feel, perfect for poster design, packaging, and anything that needs to draw attention - in an informal way. Originally released with uppercase and unicase characters only, this new version (commissioned in 2013 by a London-based design agency) includes lowercase characters and some additional OpenType features, like stylistic alternates, fractions, localized forms, among others.

Corona was designed by C.H. Griffith and appeared with Mergenthaler Linotype in 1941. It is a part of Griffith’s Legibility Group’, on which he began working in 1922 and which contains typefaces especially well-suited to newsprint. Corona is based on forms of the Ionic type, perhaps the first style designed specifically for newspapers. The font is relatively small but gives an impression of strength and modernity.

The 1923 Barnhart Brothers & Spindler specimen book called this typeface "Cardstyle", and suggested its use at small sizes for business cards. It also work quite well in large sizes when a warm, casual antique feeling is called for. Named for a river that flows through Washington, DC. Both versions of the font include the 1252 Latin and 1250 CE character sets (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

It’s softer side is revealed in it’s carefully cut stencil lines. The balance of heavy and refined gives the font family its very own charm. Schreibmeister is my interpretation of Arno Drescher’s design for Ludwig Wagner, Leipzig, completed in 1958. The letters X and x were improved as well as some ligatures. The letter E has an alternative, and the small d comes with two alternatives, of which one form can be reached by typing the partial different key. Generally it is recommended to activate both Standard and Discretionary ligatures.

The classic modernist FS Alvar grew out of a library of pure modular shapes gathered by Fontsmith’s master of the abstract starting point, Mr Phil Garnham. “It was a collection that just had to be explored and brought to life in a typographic voice. “We debated long and hard about this. It was big decision to make a shift away from the typefaces that people knew us for. And we didn’t want to compromise our reputation of well crafted typographic quality”. Modular forms A headline font that’s both graphic and functional, in the modernist tradition, FS Alvar focused Fontsmith’s eyes on the bigger issue of what makes a font show its age. “Looking at those fonts from the 1980s that were supposed to represent the ‘future’,” says Phil, “they looked so dated now.  Named after Herbert Spencer, an educator and researcher of legibility at the Royal College of Art in the sixties and seventies, and influenced by other early typographers and legibility researchers, such as Walter Tracy and John Harris. Spencer was designed as part of a legibility study by Sofie Beier and Kevin Larson.

CA Cape Rock, first released in 2007 and now reissued and expanded, is an impressive display typeface. Designed with a fat Clarendon and wood type in mind, the typeface’s bold and distinctive forms add spice and personality to any design that requires a strong display aesthetic. CA Cape Rock is particularly enjoyable for use in headlines and ideal for highlighted text. With already two dozen existing ligatures and many OpenType swashes, the new edition also received letters for use in the Central European and South Eastern European area. Blackletter fonts are timelessly beautiful and still very popular. At some point, it seems that every type designer discovers the beauty of these forms and the great pleasure in creating blackletter characters. Like also Dutch designer Coen Hofmann who, after designing Caxtonian Gothic, has designed yet another Blackletter font: Holland Gothic. Holland Gothic reminds of the 18th century »Duytsch« typefaces of Joan Michael Fleischmann and Christoffel Van Dyck. But Hofmann was mainly inspired by the Dutch calligraphers from the 17th and 18th century. Holland Gothic develops its full charm and beauty at larger sizes because of the hairlines in the upper case characters. To enable users composing texts in the style of our ancestors, Coen Hofmann added a series of pre-composed ligatures, also in combination with the long s, plus an alternate form for the lower case r which was used in combination with letters b, d, g, o, p, v, and w.

A title font that looks better as larger the font size. First of all, it is designed for use in the upper-case format. Feature style: futurism, space, modernism, glyph variety (uniqueness (minimum automatic generation)). A kind of „s‟ in the lower-case format sets the tone and emphasizes the character, formed in the Prime Numbers Nebula — they determined its appearance, and influenced the style as a whole. Particular attention is paid to the kern: the kern table is formed manually, taking into account absolutely all the glyphs included in the font-family. Two types of stress (grave, acute) for all letter glyphs. The font contains basic Latin and several additional tables, as well as three types of quotation marks, a non-breaking space and a hyphen, a short, medium, and long dash. For a set of mathematical expressions there are centrifugal signs: equal, minus (not a hyphen or minus-hyphen), plus, multiplication (X-shaped and dot), plus-minus, division. The font was made for 3 years.
