Limited to a single width for all characters and a rough image transferred through a ribbon to the paper, in 1953 Clayton Smith at IBM, Lexington, adapted the classical serifed letterform to this difficult medium to obtain a typewriter face of good readability and interesting texture.

Inscription is the work of Alan Meeks, a bold copperplate script with a fine open line running throughout. The relatively restrained initial capitals are complemented by a lowercase which joins together in the style of true handwriting. Inscription will give any text a look of refined elegance.

A cykelsmed in Danish is a bicycle repair man. This quirky font was more or less based on an older font of mine called Pinkus. It is a jumpy, happy book cover font and comes with a bunch of ligatures and all the diacritics you’ll probably need.

Imperio is a font inspired by old posters, especially those related to constructivism and futurism. It reflects both the rationalism of Bauhaus as a propagandist and revolutionary spirit of an era. On the other hand it is not nostalgic, but instead looks for its own way to get diagonals where there was rigidity. The poster itself is the language of graphic design, and geometry is its ally. This font aims for that goal. It has two variants that derive from its source. Imperio Giga Black attempts to be a negative typography, starting with the black and then searching for small windows in which they begin to uncover the morph. This is an extreme and modern font. Imperio West is a metamorphosis of the original one, with decorative details which transform it into a typeface of wood and saloon font. In all cases we recommend its use in large sizes (up to 20pt) and main titles. Imperio UltraBlack can work in smaller sizes than Imperio Regular.

Reliant is a free interpretation of the classic design from fonts "BernhardSchoenschrift", originally designed by Lucien Bernhard and "Liberty", designed by W.T. Sniffin for ATF in 1927, following the original designs from Lucien Bernhard. Many of the fonts available from Canada Type are revivals of historic brush scripts (such as Bruschetta, Coffee Script, Puma, Tiger Script). Hunter is a deserved addition to the collection. Imre Reiner's Mustang design from 1956 now enters the digital realm to continue living in this world of new typography. Hunter has a wilder streak than other brush scripts. The inspiration source for MFC Phonograph Monogram is a vintage monogram specimen named “Kent” showing only a CBA sample. It was a style I could find no other reference for, but was desperate to recreate this record like styling of monogram. Finally, it all comes to life in MFC Phonograph Monogram. I even threw in a little dog and phonograph icons hidden in the font as decorative icons reminicent of old Victrola records. Phonograph Monogram supports two and three letter monograms, although the two letter style break from the circular record design and creates a zulu style shield design. MFC Phonograph Monogram uses the Ligatures feature, available in most OpenType savvy applications, such as Adobe Illustrator CS (see Fig. 1). The Ligatures feature is typically enabled automatically, but you may need to confirm this in your program if you are not certain. If any second lowercase letter typed does not automatically switch to form the right side of the rounded form, you do not have Ligatures enabled.

A truly faithful ally for every designer looking for fresh yet familiar and reliable font choice. Geller was created as a part of graduation project in Typowa Pracownia at Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. It is a typeface family especially intended for newspapers, magazines, and advertising. Geller family comes in two optical sizes - headline and text, so it is a complete solution for editorial purposes. During the design process, the technical needs of certain typographic fractions were examined. The capital letters were specially and purposely designed: its modern proportions (derived from Didone fonts) with optimized inner lights as well as short ascenders and descenders work very well within titles and leads. In addition to a wide range of OpenType features, Geller contains bullets & dingbats providing many possibilities of entry points in editorial design. Compact diacritics, proportionally tall x-height, narrow letter construction, all these features allow easy typesetting of narrow text columns and spreads.

Hello Monday is a bold and wide vintage style serif font with a friendly charm and a reminiscence of a warm nostalgic feeling. OmegaPixel Font Description I created this font for the game Hyper Ninja Blast (but made it useful to all kinds of games!). While creating the game, I searched for pixel fonts, but could not find a suitable one. The fonts were generally ugly and lacking the basic variations (italic and bold). So I decided to create my own pixel font. Just as pixel art can be better than a high-resolution painting, so pixel fonts don’t need to be always worse than traditional fonts. In OmegaPixel I tried to achieve elegance, readability and flexibility within the limitations of a 6 pixel x-height. With 4 versions (regular, italic, bold and bold italic), and a neutral feel, OmegaPixel can be used in any genre of games. Considering the general lack of money among indie game devs, I’m giving the regular version for free! For inspiration, I often remebered Minion’s lowercase ‘a’, Galliard italic lowercase ‘g’, and the calligraphy of Chinese emperor Huizong.
