A unique design accurately revived by Steve Matteson in 2021. Frederic Goudy designed Companion Old Style for Women’s Home Companion in 1928. In his own words: “I believe the new letter I showed him, both in roman and italic, is one of the most distinctive types I have ever made. It incorporates features which deliberately violate tradition as to stress and curves, but which are so handled that attention is not specifically drawn to the innovations introduced.” Companion Old Style exudes the style of pre-World War 2 Americana. Zulu-Ndebele Pattern is the first ever font to be based solely on the traditional decorative patterns of the Zulu and Ndebele tribes of Southern Africa. The designer has lived in KwaZulu (Place of the Zulu), for over 50 years and has made a life-long study of traditional Zulu beadwork and carving, and of Ndebele wall decoration. There are 52 pattern units that may be combined in many ways to create borders, backgrounds and an unlimited number of designs. The pattern units correspond to the upper and lower case letters. The reason that the Zulu and Ndebele patterns have been grouped together is that the true tribal areas are contiguous and the there has been much artistic cross-fertilization between the two cultures. Many of the patterns that are used by the two tribes are identical.

The RetroGames font is a witty reinterpretation of the fonts found in 90s 16-bit games that we enjoyed when we were young, presented as bitmap imaged fonts. It offers superior legibility and aesthetic sensibility compared to many other existing bitmap fonts. For instance, while most bitmap fonts create one stroke with 1 pixel or have various thicknesses in pixels, we have standardized it to a maximum of one stroke with 1-3 pixels, enhancing both legibility and aesthetic appeal. Perhaps one of the more difficult typeface styles to space convincingly, Irakly, a serif-sans by Russian designer Oleg Karpinsky imparts an unfamiliar elegance. The odd mixture of superficial details such as the half serifs and the protruding horizontal strokes confuse your visual senses, yet the simple geometric roots of the letterforms are apparent and ultimately reassuring. Confitería is the Spanish word for a shop where sweets and chocolates are made and sold, which sometimes has a tea room. And now Confitería is also a font that brings to mind lettering piped on delicate cakes ... sweet but never sickly. This font captures something of that simple and innocent beauty of traditional confiterías, where good manners will never go out of fashion, menus are elegant and time comes to a standstill to make way for life’s little pleasures. A confitería is a perfect place to share sweet tidbits with a friend or date, eavesdrop on the conversation at the next table, read a book, or just people-watch from the window. I celebrated my last birthday at one. There is one iconic confitería in Buenos Aires that I love more than the rest because, some 60 years ago, it put up its marvellous sign and never took it down. Walking by it is sure to bring a smile to your face. It’s big. Very big. And the lettering in its name is written in a timelessly beautiful vertical script – the most attractive I have ever seen. I joined forces with Sol Matas – who worked with me to update the Montserrat font –to design this geometrical connected font with pleasant, even strokes. It is elegant and saccharine-free. Dinner is a family of novelty fonts in which the characters are formed from spoons, forks, and knives. Dinner-Regular was designed in 1990, one of the earliest fonts in the IngrimayneType collection. It contains a mixture of knives, forks, and spoons and the lower-case letters are smaller versions of the upper-case letters. In 2021 the family was expanded with Dinner-Knives in which all characters are formed by arranging knife shapes, Dinner-Spoons in which the characters are formed from spoon shapes, and Dinner-Forks in which the characters are formed from fork shapes. All three are caps-only but the characters on the lower-case keys are alternate versions of upper-case letters . Dinner is a decorative display family that needs to be used at a large size. The logical place to use it is for food-related items.

Dilemma is a sans/sans serif type system with 42 styles; it is inspired by the anonymous Polyphème, Cyclopéen and Extra Condensé designs from the early 1900s at the Peignot Fonderie. From these initial points of reference, Sudtipos went further and reimagined these projects for an actual use by blending them into a unique and complex type system. Dilemma is defined as ‘a situation in which a difficult choice has to be made between two or more alternatives, especially ones that are equally undesirable’ and that is exactly how we designed this font. We created a workhorse system where each style functioned well alone but would be more powerful when working as a team, pairing the sans styles with the serifs. Dilemma comes in 3 different widths and 7 weights in both the sans and the serif, ranging from the more economical yet legible condensed styles, to the opulent bold and expanded weights. Dilemma also contains 2 Variable Fonts. Chilada is an outrageous display family by designer Patricia Lillie for Image Club. Across four versions, the decorate treatment inside Chilada's letters becomes more intense. Chilada characters exude an energy of their own. Their design could be described as a cross between Bank Gothic and Neuland, with a spoonful of funk mixed in. Big and chunky, Chilada's forms are made up of straight lines only. There are no curved elements. The resulting design is angular and cuts a good figure on the page. Of the Chilada family's four members, the basic font is named Chilada Uno. Uno is Spanish for one!" The forms of Chilada Uno's letter are solid black-or whatever color you choose to set them in! Chilada Dos, Tres, and Quatro each offer their own decorative treatments: Chilada Dos's letters sport a zigzag inline, Chilada Tres is decorated or an ornamented leaving leaves more black from the letters than white, while Chilada Quatro's level of decoration is just crazy. Its letters are made up more more from white space than from black marks. Chilada Quatro is almost an outline font!"
