In the German city of Bad Neuenahr you can visit a spa called Thermal Badehaus. This beautiful art deco building has an even more beautiful art deco lettering covering its facade. I had to work with only a couple of glyphs ('Thermal Badehaus' to be exact) and tried to capture their beauty in the remaining glyphs. The result is a font called Badehaus (Bath House in German). It is a bold, all caps typeface, with some unique glyphs.

Bitblox fonts are based on the lettering created for Glyfyx’ eponymous wooden alphabet blocks. The characters are inspired by the low-res bitmap lettering seen on early generation computer devices. The Bitblox family consists of eight pixelated fonts, including a trio of styles that stack up to create a colorful, dimensional effect. An extensive multi-styled dingbat collection is also included. The Bitblox lettering was designed by James Beall with PSY/OPS Type Foundry, for Glyfyx Inc.

It was inspired by a (real)estate agent's For Sale board seen in an old sepia photograph from that era and combines visual flair and period with good clear legibility. Futuramano was the kind of typeface we scribbled in those old days, when I was an art-director in advertising agencies. We used it to simulate the headlines and the subheads, so the client could read what the copywriters had in mind. As Futura was the font of choice in those days (as it still is), our scribbled typeface looked much like Futura. The second half of the name “mano” means hand, so that is what it is, kind of a handwritten Futura. Futuramano is very practical if you want to have that unfinished touch! Smilodon an ancient distressed font made with raptor claws, cat’s teeth, stone and sky? It's a corroded, distressed, punk scrawl with lots of attitude. This is a basic minimal glyph set with uppercase and lowercase forms. This is a headline display font suggested use would be 60 point or larger. Note: The metric and kerning on this font is extremely tight spacing and user should letterspace to desired width within application type controls. This monster cat is pre-historic indeed.

Morris Fuller Benton's Hobo [designed in 1910] is one of a number of fonts which have been so over-used that many designers shy away from it altogether. However, Jeff Levine had often wondered what the design might look like it given a serif treatment. The result is Rail Bum JNL, named for the hobos and transients who hitched along on freight cars to ride the rails across the country during the years when trains were the mainstay of American transportation.

The Corporate ASE typeface trilogy was designed by Prof. Kurt Weidemann, a well-known German designer and typographer, from 1985 until 1990. This superb trilogy consisting of the Corporate A (Antiqua), Corporate S (Sans Serif), and Corporate E (Egyptian) is a design program of classical quality, perfectly in tune with each other. Weidemann says: “My ASE trilogy, quite like triplets, is in perfect harmony and covers all needs of modern typography!” Initially exclusively designed for DaimlerChrysler as a corporate font, the ASE trilogy may be now licensed and used without restriction. URW++ digitized the ASE for DaimlerChrysler and Prof. Weidemann and is the exclusive licensing agent for this outstanding and extremely popular typeface program. Meanwhile, URW++ enhanced the Corporate ASE family in regular, bold, italic, and bold italic by Greek, Cyrillic, and all additional Latin characters to cover Eastern Europe including the Baltic Rim, Romania and Turkey.
